In this video I'll be sharing my book haul and how to sell books on Amazon.
It's very easy and low cost to get started selling used books on Amazon.
To get started, all you need is a phone and you can be out scanning and listing books on Amazon right away.
As you grow your book selling business, there are other peripherals

If I may suggest something regarding packing for those on a serious slim budget...what I would use instead of paying for bubble wrap, even from the dollar tree 🌳..I would grab a modest amounts of brown paper grocery bags when shopping..just enough where they don't say anything..do that everywhere I went grocery shopping.. they work like packing paper you find in your shipments from anything you order. Some people use bald up plastic bags to pack the books from moving around or newspapers..personally I don't recommend newspapers due to the ink possibly rubbing off on some of the books covers..but
Regarding this, my point is, it doesn't have to be special if you are sending it into FBA, because once the warehouse receives your Package in the Fullfillment Center, they are going to toss what you had, and replace it with their shipping materials. you need to streamline in every way you can...hopefully that helps someone.

If you list something FBM from your home inventory, can you have it listed on eBay at the same time as well?

When signing up for your seller central account did you sign up as an individual or a privately owned business? Are you able to change it later down the road?

Hi Eric, I notice that you are using Scoutly instead of ScoutIQ. Was was the main reason you went with that app?
What are your current triggers for books, CDs and DVD's? I am a newbie but I am not finding much on my ScoutIQ triggers
The main reason for me was the monthly price of Scoutly. I’ve been using it for many years and it has always served me well.
As for the triggers I use, I’ll try and put together a video explaining how I go about setting up the triggers. Quest on~E
What is your highest sales rank you usually send to FBA?
Usually no higher than a 700,000 ranking. Also, it depends how many copies are available and what other sellers are selling that particular book or item for.
Ive been trying to sell used books on Amazon but keeps getting denied. System wouldn’t let me sell used books. Have they stopped new sellers?
Thanks for the great information. My only concern is this- If you are mailing the books yourself to customers, do you still get customers since you cannot offer Amazon 2 day shipping? And do you suggest adding the shipping cost in your price?
Thank you Gina. Yes, most of the books that I sell through MF ( merchant fulfilled) are usually over a million ranking, are more obscure and rare out of print books with a high profit.
Usually there are only a few copies if any ( of the titles I’m selling) available on Amazon.
So Yes, I do get customers buying from MF because there aren’t many available.
The shipping cost is usually only $4-5, so if you’re paying $1 or 2 for a book and selling it for $100+ then I wouldn’t even consider incorporating it into the price.
This is just the way I do it, not everyone will agree with it but, it has done well for me😊

Can you buy them tax exempt with a resale tax certificate? Otherwise you and the customer are paying sales tax
Do you charge shipping separately? Or do you add it on to your price?
Hello, as an Amazon seller you would receive a standardized shipping credit of $3.99 for books. The average shipping cost by media mail is roughly around $3.79 for a normal sized book. Keep in mind though if you have a larger heavier book it will cost more to ship. Then you would work the extra cost into your total price. Hope this helps, thanks for watching~E
When you scan on scout app does it include Amazon fees? How do you calculate amazon fees
Yes, the app gives a breakdown on Amazon FBA & FBM fees
Why sell certain items on eBay? As opposed to Amazon. I acknowledge you can have auctions on eBay...
Amazon should add an auction market or a sister site. It would be interesting. I've even sold used Cologne on eBay
Sometimes the profits are better on eBay vs Amazon and vice versa

100% yes. You can very easily make that per month. If you dedicate 1 full day per week, you can make $600 per month.
How do you calculate the shipping to incorporate it into your price?
The Scoutly app calculates the shipping, cost of goods, fees and gives a complete breakdown of what the profit will be based on the price I choose to sell for.

I’ve never used the Scout IQ app so I couldn’t give a comparison.
I definitely prefer Scoutly. It gets the job done and suits my needs just fine. The monthly cost is much more reasonable than Scout IQ.
