    Hi, I have a question, only 1 HDMI, so I won't be able to keep the android TV dongle plugged, while connecting another HDMI like a laptop? will I have to unplug the dongle every time? (not convenient when it is ceiling mounted) Thanks!

    • @Accounting4Cycling
      @Accounting4Cycling  2 месяца назад

      That is correct, just the one HDMI. You can use an HDMI selector or connect a home theater receiver to manage the other devices. Also, there is not real ceiling mount, you have to place it on a shelf.

      @@anonymous4201£449 UK 🇬🇧, however, I encountered a problem just 3 months back, it started flickering on bright pics, lamp use was only 300 hours. Luckily it was eventually refunded by Argos. They didn’t have another in stock, by coincidence I’ve just ordered another, they are now £499, but worth it. In the meantime I bought an XGIMI, mogo 2 pro, they are fabulous, but brightness lacking for daytime use. Different account, but I’m person who wrote this post.

    The level of clarity and how cheap a big 4 k tv are these days it makes no sense to buy a projector. Maybe 10 years ago. For 1500$ you could get a large 4 k tv that will knock your sox off 😊

    • @Accounting4Cycling
      @Accounting4Cycling  Месяц назад +1

      I completely get that argument, and in most daily use cases, that's true. The big win for a projector is when you want the cinematic experience (larger than life size) in a small package, or just something that is more portable and still able to throw a truly massive image! Ours gets used for a second screen shot onto the wall in the living room during busy sporting times (like the Olympics 😎). The ability to store this "second screen" in a closet or anywhere I can put something the size of a textbook is something you just can't do with a cheap 4k TV.
      My Epson EF-11 is more permanently placed next to my indoor bike trainer, but I use it more frequently as an extreme sized, space saving display for everyday viewing and for use with Zwift, picture quality against a 4k TV isn't the biggest draw for those. Our living room has a LG 65" 4k TV as the primary display, but sometimes you just want to have a second 200" screen next to it! Also, for $1500, you could get an unbelievable 4k projector that will not only knock you socks off, but you'd be able to watch the Sox in an image size as though you're at the ballpark!

      I've noticed the fan on the CO-FH02 (white, bulb) stops 5-30 seconds after to cool the bulb, the EF-11 (black, laser) seems to stop immediately.

    • @Accounting4Cycling
      @Accounting4Cycling  Год назад +1

      Since it's a fixed lens, you have to physically move the projector to achieve a larger or smaller projection field. The size of the image can easily be adjusted through the remote and/or menu.

    What is the power consumption difference between these two projectors, image quality seems almost the same

    • @Accounting4Cycling
      @Accounting4Cycling  Год назад +1

      EF-11: 73 Eco, 102 Normal. CO-FH02: 223 Eco, 284 Normal. The lamp is the biggest difference, I use both in well lit environments frequently. The EF-11 (laser) is fixed in my office/bike room, which tends to have less natural light and more regularly used, but the CO-FH02 is used pretty often to show another sport when there's more than one game on that we want to watch in our living/great room. The image quality is extremely similar, the lower cost of purchase and brighter potential of the traditional lamp might be good for casual use, but the laser still gets plenty bright and at 1/3 the energy (and heat). The EF-11 does not have a streaming source with it, but a Chromecast or Roku can fix that.

    • @andrevideosgera
      @andrevideosgera Год назад +1

      Tested Ef-11 with a wattmeter and 75 watts was the highest energy power consumption on it.

  • @eddiedass
    @eddiedass 7 месяцев назад +1

    Which one is better?

    • @Accounting4Cycling
      @Accounting4Cycling  7 месяцев назад +3

      If it's going to be more permanently in place with a receiver and other components, the EF-11. The laser light source has more vibrant and rich colors, substantially less power use, and has the EF-11 has the ability to be mounted to a ceiling/wall/whatever you connect a bracket or the 1/8" mounting screw to. The CO-FH02 is excellent for a "second TV" or movies quickly thrown to a wall, bed sheet, or screen since it has the streaming stick built in, but it also does hlnot have the ability to mount it to the ceiling.
      Ultimately, both are great... my EF-11 is always in the same place, used almost daily, and connected to my gaming/editing desktop. The CO-FH02 gets moved around but spends most of its time either on a stool aimed at out living room wall to watch Bucks/Marquette/Badgers/Brewers games or stored in my bike closet ready for its next adventure with its streaming stick on board. I'd still probably go with the EF-11, you can always add a Google TV or Roku stick but look for sales on it or get the EF-12 (same image quality, but has streaming built-in and better speakers).

    The fan sounds noisy on the Epson CO FHO2 lamp projector

    • @Accounting4Cycling
      @Accounting4Cycling  Год назад +2

      When it's in full brightness, it is louder. It's barely noticeable when there's audio playing, but the laser projector is quieter and cooler.

    • @Accounting4Cycling
      @Accounting4Cycling  Год назад +1

      It's not meant to be, but you can tear it down and get to the lamp. If you could source the lamp, you'd be able to replace it. Sorry for the delayed response. I wanted to make sure basketball season was done before opening up my "wall TV."

    • @Canman99

      @@Canman99 the EF-12 is also not user replaceable, but the laser lamp is pretty reliable. For CAD300 less, that's a great option!

    Has anyone a wrap up of the video? I find it a bit hard to follow :D
    I have the EF11 rented right now and thinking about buying the co fh02, because it's cheaper.
    I am just afraid that colors are worse or the picture is too bright for me at night (as you can only have two brightness settings with a lamp).

    • @Accounting4Cycling
      @Accounting4Cycling  Год назад +4

      TLDW: EF-11 uses about 1/3 the power at full brightness, has better colors and has a standard projector mount on the frame, but lower brightness and no streaming stick included (easy fix). The CO-FH02 is brighter, cheaper, and includes a Google TV stick but has NO mounting options!
      Personally, I use the EF-11 daily connected to either my PC or the Google TV stick that came with the CO-FH02. The CO-FH02 is primarily used when there's two sports on at the same time and we want to watch the Bucks and the Brewers or the Packers. The colors are still fine at lower brightness, but the CO-FH02 is still using ~200 watts, while the EF-11 is ~70 watts. I'd go for the EF-11 and a Google TV (which has a remote and Chromecast), also linked in the description, if you found this helpful and are okay with affiliate links (costs you nothing, I get a few bucks). Thanks for watching and checking out my content!

    • @tigermanni

      @@Accounting4Cycling Good to hear about the mounting options. As my EF-11 is ceiling mounted this would be a bummer.. I tested an older epson lamp projector before and a new Xiaomi LED with HDR. The Xiaomi was awful for my eyes (DLP rainbows and super intense/unnatural colors) and the old epson was just too bright and flat (you couldn't see anything in darker movies because everything is greyish). I might stick with the ef 11, thank you :)

    • @Accounting4Cycling
      @Accounting4Cycling  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@anonymous4201there shouldn't be any rainbow effect on either since they're both using 3LCD image chips. I think they both look great, the biggest downside to the FH02 is that it uses a traditional lamp that uses more electricity and heat, and that it doesn't have a standard projector mount on it (must be surface/stand mounted). Other than that, it's great! We use it as a second TV on the wall of our living room (I have a few shorts showing this lol), especially for sports!
