That mic sounds so bad bro
I got another question. I’m wanting to change cases. You probably won’t know cause it’s been so long. Like I said I’m wanting to change cases, I need to know how to get the power supply out
@JakobyG there should just be 3-4 screws on the back of the case holding it in place. When those are removed, it should slide forward into the main case opening. There may be zip ties holding wires in place to cut loose.
I havent finished watching the video, I just want to know if you fixed the ram, because they are installed incorrectly, should be slot 2 and 4 for dual chanel memory.
@markcoetzer7576 Good eye! The original two sticks of RAM were what was installed by iBuyPower... you're absolutely correct in that they should be in slots 2 & 4, it's even labeled on the board. I went 4x8GB for 32GB total, was more economical at the time for something I use mostly for AV1 encoding and infinite Chrome tabs! 😅
@@Accounting4Cycling : I have seen numerous video's on pre-builts where the ram was inserted into the first two slots by the sellers, anyways nice build there, I should've deleted my comment, apologies for that.
@markcoetzer7576 no apology necessary! It's always good to point out, I've made that mistake before. There's no excuse for system integrator brands to continue to have that issue pop up, though. Thanks for watching! Sadly, this build doesn't get a ton of use at the moment. I'm still trying to figure out its future.
Do you know if this work for the DJI Action 5 ?
@Luis-uh4wy definitely! The magnetic adapters the Action 5 comes with that has the "GoPro prongs" will screw right on to these. The chest strap is great when it's warmer!
Also i have the Orion 5000 and im wondering if it's possible to move the motherboard down so i can fit an AOI
@kchernandez7772 Probably not down. The I/O on the back would be out of alignment. You might be able to fit it above the metal, but below the plastic on top, you might have to put the rad below and fans above or something like that.
Is there any way to remove the 2 front case fans? Theres a big bug in that area💀 No idea how to open it up
@kchernandez7772 I believe there's a screw holding the front on, after that, it just pops off. I believe the method to do it is somewhere in the comments here or in the comments on one of my shorts.
Thanks for video, I got the same laptop and wonna install linux but wifi dose not work. I also see wifi module is soldered. Do you know any means toget linux working with network? Thanks
If you have a USB hub or dock that has ethernet, use that to connect to the internet and download the needed driver(s) for the system after you've loaded your choice for Linux. You can also identify the WiFi card and driver before removing Windows, or create a partition for Linux and run both OSs to be able to boot into either for troubleshooting! Easiest route is probably to go to ASUS.com and find this model's support tab to grab the driver :-) ASUS Vivobook S 14 model: Q423SA-U5512
@Accounting4Cycling Thank you for replying, I've solved this problem temporarily by using usb wifi. As for drivers, I believe they don't exist yet as this is new Intel platform released Sep 2024. When I install Ubuntu 24.04 even sound didn't work. I had manually upgrade kernel to 6.13. Anyway with such complexity I love this laptop.
@elinabryt354 tha is again for watching! I hope they roll out the remaining drivers you need soon, but that's some smart thinking on using a USB Wi-Fi stick! Enjoy your laptop!
The Asus branding/logos on the laptop in this video look different from all the product photos I’ve seen online. What’s up with that? Are there different versions?
I'm sure there are different versions out there, but this is the 2024/2025 edition of the S 14. The older models with the Core Ultra 3/5/7/9 Series 1 chips has "ASUS VIVOBOOK S" branded on the lower bezel of the screen, the Core Ultra 3/5/7/9 Series 2 version (current) just has "ASUS." Definitely can be a bit confusing, especially since this simplified branding isn't consistent across ASUS's entire product lineup for the later 2024/2025 models. This must've been a later decision or just something for certain models, I just had to check on my ASUS ProArt13 that I'm responding to you on by reflecting some light off the bezel!😅 The exact version is linked here: www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-vivobook-s-14-14-oled-laptop-copilot-pc-intel-core-ultra-5-16gb-memory-512gb-ssd-neutral-black/6595523.p?skuId=6595523
@@Accounting4Cyclingoh ok. Cool, thanks. It’s too bad they don’t use this branding on the Ryzen 9 model. I like it better!
@Bennethon I wouldn't be surprised if that's the plan with the next round of Ryzen chips. It's a clean look!
great video
Thanks for watching!
Does it include a mount to connect to the camera
It includes the screw to mount to the cameras. The Hero 8 onward have the mounting fingers on the camera themselves, no need for the mounting cages like the Hero 7 and prior. Thanks for watching!
I don’t know much about computers but I bought this same one and the women at Best Buy told me to get 32gb vengeance ddr5 to help with my performance on gaming but when I swap them out and use them in my computer the screen is glitchy and dose not last long being on. What can I do to change that is it and bios settings or what?
The BIOS is pretty locked down by Acer, but it's worth checking out. When the system first powers on, hit DEL (Delete) until it enters BIOS and see if there's the option to enable "XMP." If there is, enable it, then save and restart (should be an option upon exiting the BIOS). Was this 2 - 16GB sticks of RAM or 4 - 8GB sticks of RAM? I would try using just two of the sticks in the 2nd & 4th RAM slots away from the CPU cooler, if that doesn't work, try the originals and see if the system is performing the same as when it was new. Definitely try the originals with your favorite games to see how they work, if they work well, stick with those, especially if XMP is still blocked or unavailable in BIOS (as mentioned above) If the Vengeance RAM still doesn't improve performance over the original Acer sticks, return them to Best Buy. Thanks for watching and hope this helps!
I got a question where are both m2 sdd slots at ?
@Thatdemon01 the primary SSD is directly below the CPU cooler and directly above the GPU, about the middle of the motherboard. The secondary slot should be empty out of the box and is located on the right side of the board, aimed off onto the case (very weird, but it looks like space constraints). It's to the right and below where the GPU is, and the case has a 2280 SSD shaped riser with the securing mount leading from the m.2 slot.
How do i add a secondary m2 ssd? I cant screw it in so it isnt floating on the side that is not plugged into the slot
@rasmush2004 for slots available on the motherboard, the one on the side is the only other option for m.2. You can get a PCI card for NVMe m.2 slots... they usually add between 1-8 more below the GPU and slot in as an expansion card. Little more overkill, but it is another option. The slot on the MB is actually just above the GPU, I watched back to make sure and noticed i was wrong saying it was just below. But there is an SSD mounting screw riser there, you might have to get your own screw though (very inexpensive, may have been in the box. I don't remember).
Beam is NOT usb powered. mine arrived, i have to return it. i don't want more wall warts and cables for a light
I'm sorry you had that misconception. For that, you'd have to go for the Litra Glow or one of the many other options out there. I made it clear that this uses an AC plug in my video. The USB-C is strictly for control by Logitech G software from a computer.
@@Accounting4Cycling I didn't see your video until opened my box and I was searching to see if my unit was defective or that blob was required.
@TimHunold ah, I see! Your comment had me worried for a bit! I watched back through it to make sure I didn't say that. Still sorry that happened to you, this light has the ability to put out too much power for only a PC's USB 2.0 or 3.0 port. Something smaller could escape the giant plug. Battery powered is an option, I like the NEEWER RGB150 Video Light (amzn.to/3ZbLTcA) because it's small, bright, good CRI, full RGB, wide-white spectrum, metal housing, USB-C rechargeable lithium battery, and can be mounted in a variety of ways. It can charge can run, but I haven't tested strictly off a computer, just from a low power USB outlet. Best of luck in your search, and thanks for watching!
Great video, very useful, thank you!
@LupulTaz you're welcome! Thank you for watching!
Is the motherboard proprietary? Because I’m looking towards to upgrading the motherboard I want to make sure it’s compatible and is it mATX?
It's a standard mATX motherboard and the case is fitted for up to a full ATX board, the case is huge and most of the metal can be removed if you want it gone.
@ so i shouldn’t have any problems replacing the motherboard whether it’s ATX or mATX?
@coraz0n880 you should be fine. There's tons of space below Acer's mATX board and the mounting posts for a full ATX board.
Does it work on xbox? I saw 2 conflicting reviews on best buy.
Per Logitech's website it does not support the YUY2 or NV12 format, you'd be best to go with the Logitech C922 or C930e. Per Microsoft's website: "For the best experience, we recommend these webcams: -Microsoft LifeCam Studio -Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 -Logitech C922 Pro Stream Webcam -Logitech C930e Webcam"
hello fellas maybe it's not the right place to ask but I'm desperate to find this model boardview if anyone can help or guide please I would appreciate it very much
Are you trying to get a closer look at the motherboard specifically? I don't know where to find a board view for this model, but I do have the picture used for the thumbnail and I pick through it during the video. By all means, feel free to screenshot, save, etc. Just please don't share elsewhere without crediting. If you want the original 9MP 4000 × 2252 images of the board, reach out via email and I can get you those. (I have two: one of the whole system shown in the thumbnail, one closer in to the second NVMe m.2 slot)
@Accounting4Cycling well thanks for the offer but it's not the board image I need I need the schematic one for Asus tuf FA507Re
I had heart failure every time you touched the glass side panel. I was loading my rig into my car when the side panel fell one foot onto the cement floor and shattered. I finally found where I could get a replacement. The guy said, "Hmm that's the second one this week". I replaced the side panel and wisely, put the screws back in. (the screws weren't in when it fell).
I know! I pops out so fast! That security screw comes in clutch when moving the system or shipping it (like when I sold it post-review), and that's great that you were able to find a replacement. I've come across too many cases... especially prebuilt PC cases, that don't offer security screws and the glass seems to be held in by hopes and dreams!
@@Accounting4Cycling Forgot to mention, thanks for the great video! Nice to hear all about my computer, that my wife feels I spend too much on lol
@Lochness1313 I'm glad you enjoyed it! Hope you enjoy the computer! I'd caution away from using the argument that it could be more expensive to build one on your own... 😅
Love the content! How loud is the blower fan GPU when gaming? I have one on the way and your video is the best content out there around it so thank you
No blower fan on the GPU, it's three smaller intake fans that pull up to the cooler. Very quiet compared to a lot of other cards out there. I have it in my custom built rig that has an AIO water cooler and it's rarely louder than that, you can easily have a normal conversation over it and definitely stream with an open microphone with no worries.
Having an Acer Predator Orion 5000, it is a great machine, but 2 things to watch for -- 1) do not add an extra 32GB to fill the 4 slots with 64GB of RAM, unless you just need the memory capacity. Most 4-slot systems actually run best and much faster with just the first 2-slot bank used. This is because using double the slots will likewise split memory bandwidth capacity from 4400 MT/s on each DIMM down to maybe 2000 MT/s (though I would kill to have 2000 MT/s back in the early 1980s, when CPU speeds were just 1.7MHz). Also, adding mismatched memory and enabling XMP will throw a critical POST alarm (we could get away with that on a DDR4 system, but DDR5 is very stringent). 2) If we add a second 1TB SSD in its extra slot to have a drive C clone backup, the default BIOS setting will, after a reboot, treat this "secondary" SSD as primary Drive 0, so we must also adjust the drive order in the BIOS upon reboot to reset the order (also watch out for some SSD manufacturers define a K as 1000 instead of properly to 1024. On 1TB, this mean "1 TB" is actually just 1000^4 bytes, which is 95MB less than a 1024^4 drive. This can present challenges when cloning (Hasleo provides a really great, AND FREE drive cloner/backup). Trivia: Back in 1980, 16K of memory cost me $127USD. For 1TB, that comes out to over $8.5 billion (over $31.5 billion in today's dollars).
Thanks for the added intel! (no... okay, slight pun intended lol) A lot of the RAM speed situation comes down to the motherboard chipset and how it's being utilized (should be disclosed if you're purchasing the MB, it'll be maximum memory bandwidth per channel) and the CPU. The i7-13700F definitely has the capacity to handle all 4 channels at full speed through all channels, I'm running at 5600MHz through all 4 on a Z690 board. It could definitely handle faster but when I bought the Corsair Dominator RAM in Mid-2022 anything faster was horrendously expensive! Great reminder on the SSD order and the critical POST issues! Thanks for sharing the drive cloner, too, always good to know more of those! LOVE your bit (did it again! 😅) on the cost of memory back in 1980! That's got me beat by 9 years, my first PC had 64 MB of RAM, AMD K6 CPU, and a 10GB HDD with a CD drive! I love retro computers, probably for the best that I don't have the space to collect them or I'd definitely have some good stuff from the 80s and 90s.
I just got a set as a gift and I really like them. I'm a Veteran and the kind gift-giver gave me ones with American Flags. Great idea and I will be using then in a couple of weeks. Thank you for the instructions and the nicely put together video!

What is the screen size ? And how many feet from the wall ?
The problem with this models of projectors you can’t change the lamp by yourself. What a shame
It's about 120 inches (10 feet) diagonally at just under 10 feet away from the wall. I think it's something like a 1:1.1 or 1.3 projection ration, the screen will be just a bit larger than it is away from what it's projected on (fixed lens). The lap is technically replaceable yourself, its just not meant to be user replaceable. Last I searched, I think it was about US$90 for a new lamp and something like 10 screws to get in. It *will* void your warranty but at that point it may not matter and could be worth a shot if you're pretty decent with minor electronics repair. I haven't tried it myself as we use this projector at least weekly, especially during baseball & football, football & basketball, then back into basketball & baseball crossover seasons. At this rate, when my bulb dies might be when I test how hard it is to open and replace (or the next MLB All-Star Break 😂).
Hey. Do you know if this webcam can record in 60fps at a resolution above 480p?
It's fully capable of 1080P at 60fps in OBS, Teams, Zoom, and many other programs. Those three are what I had tested many times to ensure compatibility that Logitech claimed. There may be settings that need to be updated in the program you're attempting to use if you're only getting 480P60fps.
How do you undervolt the cpu with this pre build
@jamesgantzer3786 either discover some way in one of Acer's BIOS versions or a different motherboard that supports undervolting. If the goal is lower temps, try a decent tower air cooler (~$30) for great, quiet results. Acer had very briefly had a more open BIOS to do more minor OC on RAM, but even that seems to be gone forever.
Will a Corsair icue link xh100i liquid cooler fit it says it’s lga1700 comparable
@actualStrat if it will fit, it should work very well. I don't have this system anymore or this cooler, but the iBuyPower case in this video was a heater when I put my i7 in it (while my main motherboard was off for warranty). I put a larger air cooler in that worked great to dissipate heat from the chip! You'll probably have the best luck trying to mount the AIO to the top or removing the GPU brace on the front to it. For the top, you should be able to remove the plastic shroud and mount fans above the metal on the case, but under the shroud with the radiator on the top-inside of the metal case for more room. Ultimately, measure things... or bust out a Dremel and start cutting some custom "mounts" into the case! 😎 (will almost definitely void your warranty)
Can a 240 water cooler air be added mines run pretty hot
Just replace the battery and you’ll be good again✅
@anthonymacias2352 that's exactly what I did, it was picky about which batteries.
@@Accounting4CyclingI have a remote like this but most buttons are gone
@HALOHERO117 This old gal came back to life a few days after I made this video. I've been lucky that all the buttons are still there and work! I did just clean the battery contacts last week when I changed those, good idea after 20 years!
@@Accounting4Cycling nice good to see it still working
Is the hdmi 2.1?
Yes, I believe all versions are HDMI 2.1 but the RTX 3070 and higher are definitely HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4
I have purchased this webcam, but my video is coming too blurry on my laptop. Can you pls tel me how to fix this. not happy with the video quality
Depending on the video platform you're using, you should be able to increase the bitrate. This sounds like "bitrate choke," where Teams or Zoom has a limit on the stream quality, causing a grainy, blurry, and pixelated picture. Hope this helps!
Hey I know this video is old but I was wondering can I change the parts in this? And replace the intel to a Ryzen 7?

@96shadowrazor probably just turn it off with nothing plugged in, then back on with only the PS5 plugged in to see if it recognizes correctly. It's just a regular HDMI port, so it should be fine.
@@Accounting4Cycling Turned out to be a forced resolution thing with PS5, so safe mode and changed to 1080 and its working fine now

So are you saying that the 24-105 lense would fit Into the canon R10 EOS camera ?
@@ciaraboyle30 it most certainly does! That's the camera it's on in the video. The RF and RF-S lenses both fit the EOS R bodies.
@Accounting4Cycling okay. Thank you very much. Very pleased to know that.
But he’s neglected to mention that you will, instead, start at a focal length of ~38mm, and NOT 24mm. Multiply the focal length by 1.62 for a Canon cropped sensor.

@WalterTheBalter this is much more in line with the C300, but they're all very similar in their core. Both the C300X and C300 (or "AC") can be used as AC UPS backups and have AC outlets on the front. The C300X comes with the shoulder strap for carrying, the C300 (AC) can have it as an accessory. The DC version has USB-C in place of the AC outlets. Thanks for watching!
@@Accounting4Cycling I got two 300dc’s gave one to a homie I prefer the ac model for anyone out out had more features for my use since I use cinema cameras
@WalterTheBalter I've been running my bedroom/balcony TV off it all late summer and fall! The "free" electricity to watch playoff baseball has been pretty amazing!
Worked for me, thanks!
@@gavinwilkinson100 happy to help, thanks for watching!
It’s not a gaming laptop, sir
The RTX 4060 and a 2TB ssd is definitely a beast of a work laptop! I use my as a mobile editing workstation. It is most certainly NOT a gaming laptop, however, you can do some gaming on it! It's nice to be able to have a good "do-it-all" that rig that doesn't look and sound like a spaceship, unlike my Alienware x17r1! 😅
I sue my pen RTX 4060. 32gb I upgraded the ssd to. 2tb
This is my work laptop. It’s the best of 2024.
How long are the individual keys?
so you plugged it up to a 200w solar panel. Is that ok? I thought you could only use a 100w panel with this power station. Sorry i would really like to know since i have one of these coming in the mail and am debating whether to get a solar panel or not.
@chrisb0803 Longterm, it's not recommended as you can burn out the inverter if too much power comes through, short term has been fine, though. I also usually have a battery bank charging off the 60w USB-C on the panel, too. So it's not getting close to the full 200, it also likely would cap out closer to 150 from an efficiency standpoint. I would recommend sticking to a 100w panel like Anker does, though, to each their own.
crazy noise going on the doors 🤔
HOW DID YOU SET IT UP?? I cant get mine to work on windows 11
You should just be able to plug it into a USB 2 or higher port and it should be recognized by your computer. If that doesn't work, you may want to have your computer scan for new devices and/or try another USB port. Thanks for watching!
@@Accounting4Cycling sorry for getting so worked up btw 😅 I eventually disabled my default webcam and now it automatically uses the go cam as long as it’s plugged in
So I know it's been a year sense this came out but do you know if you can't put a 4070 into this pc?
Yeah, if you want to put a 4070 into the machine, it should work just fine. Just make sure the power supply has enough juice for whichever card you decide on, but you might not be able to use the GPU bracket (it comes off with a few screws). The case is massive and should support most cards. Thanks for watching!
Great question. Ill be doing the same soon.
what if i have a separate USB mic and i don't want to use the webcam mic? do I just mute the webcam mic in my OBS before I record?
That's what I do! I have a Shure MV7x on a boom arm that I use at my desk, or I use a lot of headsets for calls. I also have wireless lavalier mics that are all setup in OBS. I rarely have the webcam mic on, it's there for show and a backup. 😅
@@Accounting4Cycling Thank you!
cpu liquid cooler Is there a high probability of water leakage?
With AIOs there's an incredibly low risk of a leakage coming from the system, but it is still a risk. Gigabyte claims there was a capacitor that just decided it's time was up and the new CPU might've triggered it to finally pop. No harm, no foul. They repaired it and sent it back, the board has been running like a champ with the new CPU for the last year! Thanks for watching!
@@Accounting4Cycling I finally got the option of an air-cooled cooler
