Having recently visited both Onuma and Hakodate I can recommend a delicious local Japanese beverage, Kamikawa Goryo (Kamikawa Taisetsu is the name of the brewery) sake brewed just outside of Hakodate proper.

I've never understood the bear spray thing. Does that work? Are we expected to have the presence of mind to 1) think of it and 2) function well enough to use it on the bear? I'd be paralyzed with fear, curled up in a ball, and waiting to die. Ain't no bear spray happening, I can promise you that!

yea, it wasn't great wine lol.

21:08 I have to disagree with Kyde about the cream over custard
First point, cream is quite a general term. That can refer to many textures. In England maybe we would call cream inside a donut a type of whipped cream, clotted cream, or butter cream. Those all differ in terms of flavour and texture.
Nothing particularly against those creams, but, as I rarely eat donuts, I have never considered these to fill a donut.
For me, I think of strawberry or raspberry jam filling, or plain. I imagine a plain doughnut as being powdered with sugar or a slight sugar glaze. Donuts appear to only have jam filling in my memory as a child. Dspite being certain that many fillings are possible, I don't have others in my head linked to a donuts definition and identity.
    Continuing :)
I have a strong appreciation and love for custard. A basic school custard from powder I accept, and, equally so, a fresh and homemade custard. All have a space. Together with a soft sponge, a dense cake, crumble, banana, or alone.
Then, custard based deserts. Clafoutis, pastel de nata, bread pudding, crème brûlée, mille-feuille, galaktoboureko, cremeschnitte.
I know every person is different. You are more than welcome to appreciate cream more. I felt I had to write and share my love for custard
