There's even some systems I've seen videos of that aren't known to the public and I saw that one like 17yrs ago. These interceptors travel several 1000s of mph, mach 3 to 14. Some even higher. My father spent 46yrs working on them. From guidance & nav engineer (responsible for the intercept happening) to a chief weapons inspector for the region reporting to the Pentagon and was responsible for testing and signing off on missile offensive and defensive systems at White Sands range. Id catch glimpses of test videos on his computer whenever he'd bring some work home with him over the years. There's even some systems I've seen videos of that aren't known to the public and I saw that one like 17yrs ago. These interceptors travel several 1000s of mph, mach 3 to 14. Some even higher. Think how fast that looks hitting something, blink you'll miss it

The Patriot system gets a lot of press so people think that's all we have but patriot is like our close in defense system, we've got very long range ones too. From what I’ve seen this missile isn’t any faster when in flight it looks as if it needs to reach a certain altitude then it deploys its payload to be ignited towards the ground when it has hypersonic speed coming down , so it should be easier to target in its launch and climb stages
