There are so many issues with this. First, even if we find out what the technology is, it will take years to match it and then counter it. Standard radar can not send and receive signals fast enough to see it for targeting. Because the radar is unable to track it a laser can not be used to stop it. You need to know where to point the laser. Even if you use a computer driven laser it will have a hard time tracking it. No need for a nuclear payload when the kinetic power is enough to cause major damage. Right now, Russia can target anything within range with impunity. There are so many issues with this. First, even if we find out what the technology is, it will take years to match it and then counter it. Standard radar can not send and receive signals fast enough to see it for targeting. Because the radar is unable to track it a laser can not be used to stop it. You need to know where to point the laser. Even if you use a computer driven laser it will have a hard time tracking it. No need for a nuclear payload when the kinetic power is enough to cause major damage. Right now, Russia can target anything within range with impunity. If the west retaliates, Russia will counter attack with an unstoppable weapon.
