Abandoned: SunTrust Bank - Summerville, SC

What's good, everyone?! Today's video features a look at an abandoned SunTrust Bank in Summerville, SC. There almost seems to have been a weird love triangle between SunTrust, Truist, and South State banks relative to me finding them abandoned. SunTrust merged with BB&T to form a new company called Truist. As a result, many, if not all remaining BB&T and SunTrust banks closed. This location was part of those branches that closed, as there is actually a Truist Bank not even a quarter mile down the road from this building. So to clear any confusion, at the time of me filming this video, I was unaware that this location was home to a SunTrust. I believed that the Truist notice of closure on the door indicated that it was a Truist. As mentioned above, Truist was the result of a SunTrust and BB&T merger.

Glad these banks merged…means there’s one less bank in Summerville where banks seem to be invasive. Hopefully something unique goes onto this property.

I can't say that it's good to see a bank close. However, I think that this building is in a decent geographical location, and could lead to the development of something beneficial for the community.
