I love watching 2nd gen idols talking about their times as idols. They paved the way, so i feel like their opinions are even more meaningful to listen.
It was hard for 2nd gen because like Xander said, beginning of Hallyu Wave unless you're in a Big 3 companies. But 2nd gen songs were define what Kpop sounds like. That's why lots of iconic songs are from 2nd gen. Kpop now is more like westernised, IMO.
Same. As an old kpop fan. I have to agree.. Theu sound more generic these days. Hence why I can only stomach up until 3rd gen idols. Past that I can no longer have interest in their songs no concept. Granted that maybe because I'm older now.
Yes what Alexander said are right. Especially 4th gen group, they just got recognize because of their sunbae in company except there are some group are from small company likes ATEEZ, STAYC, and etc. They rise the company themselves.
He is right too many groups right now raised , i begun to listen KPop music from 13 years ago i only was listening to UKiss and super junior, shinee, TVXQ , Girl's generation, KARA , 2pm , 2AM , Shinhwa, Ftisland , CNBlue and many i love these groups so much ❤❤❤❤
2nd gen was the golden age of Kpop. Not very toxic and fandom is fun. I started in 2005 with TVXQ and it was very chill. Being part of fandom now means WORK and having shitton of money to vote and buy album for fancalls. I wont survive in Kpop now because LIFE. I dont think new fans would survive in 2nd gen because of dial-up connection and we didnt have weverse or allkpop.
@@exploringapis4495 lol kpop is even more elitiste now with fans of "bigger" groups acting like they (fans and favs) are some type of gods. For example one can see how Bts fans like to laugh at other smaller groups that are struggling while acting cocky and bragging about their favs. There is such a "class social divide" vibe about kpop now that you always see groups that are not popular/big or whatever, cover songs of big/popular groups or at least do a challenge no matter the quality of the song but you will NEVER EVER see the reverse as in seeing the members of "big" groups do a challenge of a small group's song to show appreciation. It is as if said big groups are aware of their "rank". Back in the day when kpop was not as huge you could see less disparity in treatment, more collabs and variety shows were more open to various groups even the less popular ones. Now it is even more harder.

Couldn’t agree more❤❤❤❤
Yes, they really did. 🥲
Ikr.. never thought either that kpop gonna be so huge like today..

Fr. And a looooootttt with English lyrics. So the identity as kpop song getting faded
True 2nd gen music never gets old. 3rd gen to now almost sounds the same.

What I remember most about Xander is his amazing skill in several languages (English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese). Daebak!

Aren’t ateez also known to be block b juniors too since they technically are
@@brennathecatlover4360 Yeah, i know Block B are their sunbae, but back then KQ ent. r not really familiar until we have ateez.
The ones you mentioned are medium companies not small, I think you should see a real small company before speaking....
@@MidnightxCrow ok let me know the small company. Mention it here, cause im not familiar with 4th gen kpop group. Are they popular or widely known?
@@MidnightxCrowhm?? kq maaaaybe but high up would be nugu af if it wasn’t for stayc

Yes.. And I still have your old albums. I think it was the debut album (2010 Ver) though back at home 😂
How time flies. ❤
Xander, por favor, no te vuelvas a ir. Quiero que UKISS sea reconocido como lo que son; Un grupo que pavimento un camino lleno de éxito.
We miss u xander
the way he says "worse" tho ☻
That asian "uwaahhhhh" ahhahahahha
It is much more elitist now
It’s more back then. If you’re not from the big 3 then you’re considered nugu. Bts was disrespected before they became popular
