Great video. As a teenager I worked on a bull ranch. When I started I assumed all horses were trained to ground tie. After a five mile walk back to the house I taught their horses to ground tie. Different technique - not relying on trust of horse.
I want to try this! I just need a horse, barn, and everything else. In all seriousness it's so inspiring to see how horses respond to such kind training. I miss horses!
Many thanks Ryan, love ground tie! My husband’s Quarterhorse learned fairly quickly. Not so much with my dancing Haflinger mare..... We have a trainer starting this Saturday to help us with our horses. We eventually would like to start trail riding since we live in the Yosemite foothills. There are many horse friendly trails.❤️🙏 God bless
Perfect timing on this video. I was dealing with this very issue this weekend while getting ready to saddle a barn sour horse while in the paddock. This video was very helpful. I’ll be using this technique from now on. Thank you Ryan
this is so nice that you show this! My boy is going to take a while to get settled (we're working on that too), but looking forward to having an idea how to do this. Continue to really learn so much from your videos. You are great with details, but also great at staying on topic. Thank you!
i really going to teach this to my horse when the time is right for him ( we still need to do a lot of ground work that he can even stand nice still), thank you for this video , i love how you work with the horses
@@ryanrosehorsemanship haha I new you were going to tell me that. I posted the comment before I finished the video. And then I heard you say at the end of the video to put request on your patreon page. Haha. 😆
I luv your videos for horse training. I do not have a horse but wondered if you know of a dog trainer that uses your same methods. I luv how you help the horse be successful and transfer responsibility to them, the yield, the softening etc. thx very much.
Dog training and horse training are pretty different. Horses operate off of pressure and release being a prey animal. That has a place in dog training, teaching them to yield to leash pressure, placing a hand on the back to sit but you'll have much more success if you find a motivator like a toy or food. Michael Ellis is a fantastic dog trainer.
Been loving the videos.... I got a horse that just really wants to do what she wants... if I take a video and show you what's up could you maybe show me what to do to correct this.
Terrific video! What do you do on Day 1? How do you give the correct response to them wanting to follow you? I want to do this but my boys think that they MUST follow me when tacked up and I walk away.
Would this same method work with horses who don’t like to stand in the washrack/crossties. Mine will stand as long as I’m there but he does keep trying to walk out the front . I think he was groundtied trained but since hes so young he is testing me so would this be a good way to tune that issue up?
Did not know you have Patreon page. Will join. It was great to see all the activities going on with other horses in the arena. You are just 90 minutes from my mustang horse and I. I will be reaching out to you about training at your facility. You seem to know and enjoy the mustang breed well. She's a lovely mare. We just need a little more help!
My horse gets so antsy and he'll head butt me and shove me with this head... Trying to stop him but he's not getting that he's being bad when he does it... How would I fix this??? Just wont stop
Dont micromanage a tiny mistake. I like that concept.
Love this! Ground tying means you have the horse’s mind. If you have his mind you will have his feet. Mostly.

You’re a great coach 👌🏻 break things down real well I appreciate the tips
Did you video the days previous to this video? It would be so helpful to see tue very beginning of your process.

Cool 👍👌
And ironically the mare’s name is Sage.

Your a real trooper, Trooper!😆😉
😂
wow great work, great horse great video thanks for this!
Great video! We will try this . 🐴💜🐴
I find ground tie training better in the arena than a grass Paddock 😁
Gotta start somewhere
Thank you I needed some information on how to do this
Can you do a detailed series of teaching a young or green horse how to do lateral movements? That would be awesome!
I accept requests for vids through my patreon page. Just sayin

Hey Ryan :) When you say you are on day 3 of ground tie training what is that in time/hours per day? Thanks in advance. You rock!
10-15 min
Are there some videos on doing other types of ground work (asking for a side pass, etc)?

Join us on Patreon! That is in my humble option the best part is to be able to send in videos and get personal feedback!!!
Great learning info, thank you Ryan. Roos 🙋🏻♀️🌹🤗👊🏻💪🏻👍🏻😁
You're pretty handy Bro! Good video!
Great! Thank you for the video!
Thank you 🙏
Excellent short videos. I’m guilty of being a bit too particular at first.
Thanks
🤠nice work
Is it confusing for them as we ask them to follow us when we move then we are now asking to stay still? How do they know
Great video! What chaps are you using by the way

How would you continue this training outside with the grass?
I have a question so when you’re 20 miles back in the middle of nowhere do you tie your horse off or do you ground tie them
What to do when in a field and the horse eats grass?

I'd like to see how you do it. I do it the same way I teach dogs to stay
