  • You asked. And asked. And ASKED- so here you go. The Ones Ready team sits down and tries their best to answer the question we get more than any other question- "What is the day-to-day like in AFSPECWAR?"
Actually, we did you all one better- we looked at the day-to-day in every single phase of your pipeline. From the delayed entry program (DEP) to Basic Military Training (BMT), to the Special Warfare Candidate Course (SWCC), to Assessment and Selection (A&S), pre-dive, the pipeline- all the way through your first unit.
We would like to think that this is the one- the one podcast that deads the whole question- but we know better.

This really put into perspective when people say
"the pipeline is just to get you competent enough to work on your teams and when you get to there the training really starts."
I just chopped it as "They'll get you up to speed with how the team works." But no, it's how to do the job.

Awesome episode. I am not somebody who's asked this cause I always figured the day to day is whatever pursues the mission of the job and that was enough for me. But this episode did get my hyped. The funniest part of the episode had to be when Aaron thought that maybe after this they'll stop getting the question.

For a cross trainee who goes straight into A&S what’s the best way to prepare on those critical skills (setting up pool etc) so that you’re not hindering the team ? Thank you as always ✊🏼
Aaron, the Star-Bangled Banner should of played with that closing note, solid work.

So, you’ll got to SWCC first. And that will prepare you for your A&S role. And the words are appreciated!!! - A

That "benign" condition has killed more than 1,000,000 Americans including my high school girlfriend and my college roommate. That same condition put my my 27 y/o daughter w/o comorbidities in the hospital x 6 wks. and killed many of my patients. It had also killed a close family friend who was blind, never left his home and was only exposed to his two children in their 20s who didn't believe in vaccination or wearing masks. Wonder where he got that benign condition???

This comment probably isn't going to be read by anybody but, eff it. I have two points that I would like to make 1) gain of function research was used unethically to make COVID slightly more dangerous to people that had "comorbidities". However, every new variant became less transmissible and easier on people's immune system. 2) Two just because you're a health professional that doesn't mean because you claim that one solution is better than others, a patient should be obligated to use that one solution. To scare them into it is not the play either. If you cared about your patients, in which case, hopefully you do... I'd say more options for them is better, right?
