I bought one of these NIB probably about the time they came out and have kept it totally stock. The weakness on these is that the lower receiver part of the pivot pin is entirely plastic. If you let the upper swing free after pulling that pin there's a good chance it will break the lower. I notice stormwerkz has a repair kit for this particular issue which is nice to see. I have one of those spring loaded quick change mounts that fit on the stock receiver which ends up being a bit higher profile than his after market rail. I'm pretty sure I much prefer that mount over his. Oh yeah, I really dislike the super skinny pistol grip on this rifle.
there is no buffer in that tube the at 180 system goes straight back in to a buffer block to absorb the energy from the bolt hitting it.there is no angle torque when you shoot it.you made this video after you disassembled it ,should have seen that
Reg Sparkes Not much like it at that price point. In terms of NR semi automatic 223's that you could compete with, there's the Su-16, XCR, ACR, and Tavor, but I'd only really consider the XCR or ACR for 3 gun competition purposes.
@@Huntinggearguy Yes, I did order one after talking to someone at Armalite. I wanted to keep as much of the original rifle as possible. I just hope I don't need a machine shop to attach it.
Armalite doesn't make them anymore, so they're only on the used market. That said, there are new AR180 based rifles being manufactured by several Canadian manufacturers now, including Wolverine Supplies: www.wolverinesupplies.com/ProductDetail/KODWK180CONLINE_Kodiak-Defense-WK180-C-5-56--DEPOSIT-ONLY
00:09 You put that thing down with.... authority!
lol you muffin
There's a great song written about this rifle.

The first company that makes new AR180s will do well for itself. Wasn't there a bullpup variation of the AR180?
+Mike Mac The Bushmaster M17S is pretty much a bullpup AR15. It's also non restricted in Canada.
+The Hunting Gear Guy why won't you view the vz 58 rifle?
+The Hunting Gear Guy any way?is the stg44 is nr in canada?
+The Hunting Gear Guy is x95 rifle is nr in canada?
Not sure if I've seen those in Canada. They'd need a longer barrel for an NR version, for sure.
RCMP be like
AR-180: prohibited
AR-180B: non-restricted
How did you remove the factory wedge scope mount?

Anybody else here trying to satisfy that WK180-C itch?
So close, I can almost taste it.

Mine doesn't have that click with the safety either. I guess it's normal.
GhostyToasty27 Ninja silent mode.
+The Hunting Gear Guy will you review the vz 58
+The Hunting Gear Guy why fn fal is prohibited?

@@Huntinggearguy Yes, I did order one after talking to someone at Armalite. I wanted to keep as much of the original rifle as possible. I just hope I don't need a machine shop to attach it.
I have one new in box, never shot. The safety is tight.
Great review but where in Canada I can find one in stock
iRunGuns might have some, and on CanadianGunNutz.com

Your gun is jacked up. That's not the stock that came on it from the factory.
Nope, that's with the M4 stock adapter
Where can we pick one of these up in Canada?

The Hunting Gear Guy Wow that looks sweet. Thanks for the reply. Will you be picking it up and reviewing it anytime soon?
Where can I get my hands on the ar180b? I want to do a k2 k1a build off of the ar180b and shoot with my pops who was in the sk special forces
Might be easier to find a Daewoo that got imported and get the correct stock for it, I used to have one imported by Kimber.
Still restricted?
The 180 is restricted, the 180B (pictured) is non restricted
@@Huntinggearguy ok i was just asking because this video is from 5 years ago
Yep, it's still good to go. There are also several clones like the WK180C, WS-MCR, and the new Jard J180.
@@Huntinggearguy ok awesome thx
When you let people who know nothing about firearms make laws about firearms...
