What is surprising to me is that:
In week 1, they lost only by 3. Same with week 3, 5, and more
They did not let the Bengals score in the 1st quarter in week 4
And they had a 2 TD lead against the Packers
And then blew it
Christ almighty this kid Kizer is a QB coach’s nightmare. Holding the ball too long, throwing on the run, throwing off balance, throwing across his body, getting all cute with the ball, over and under throwing receivers, hitting the open DB consistently. Not surprised he never played another down in the NFL after this season.
Sounds like everything Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes do, successfully. Kaiser was a man before his time lol
@@obivincinninninnina3041yeah exactly lmao. Mahomes and Allen are good enough and disciplined enough to be flashy, while Kizer wasn't even trying to be flashy at all, he was just genuinely unprepared to start in the NFL, kid got thrown to the wolves :'(
As a Notre Dame fan, it was tough to see Kizer struggle so badly that year. Dude had no chance at all and was definitely not ready
He actually did the next year with the Packers when Rodgers was hurt

Cleveland went 42-117-1 in the regular season during the 2010's including a 14-45-1 record in divisional games while going 4-26 in divisional road games including going winless at Pittsburgh and winning twice at Baltimore and Cincinnati.
This is very good thinking outside of the box. Well done!!! The Browns did not do Kizer any favors because they tossed him to the wolves without anything to work with. Kizer's performance gives proof as to why a team should not throw a rookie unless they can manage the pressure, and I have a feel that 2017 has impacted his career since he went from a 1st string QB to a reserve player for the LV Raiders who is barely in the league.
For Cleveland fans this must be like a punch to the gut

Very enjoyable view of an NFL franchise in dire need of success on every level from the management on down. It looks like this debacle of a season just might be the Browns' low point and maybe just the motivation they need for better success in the future.
I always figured Kizer was throwing to the other teams to show them how great he would be at passing to them if on their team instead.

I still think the 08 Lions and 76 Bucs were way worse. The 08 Lions had one of the most horrendous run defenses in league history and the 76 Bucs were barely even a cohesive team (yeah yeah, they were an expansion team).

And it was the very same for the 2008 Detroit Lions. The Lions were definitely at their low point in 2008 with their 0-16 season, then made their top draft pick with QB Matthew Stafford. And the Lions have been a relatively successful NFL franchise ever since. They did miss the playoffs last season, nine years removed from their terrible 0-16 mark, even though they did finish with a winning record.

Unfortunately for the lions they do jack shit with Stafford then trade him to the Rams in the off season of 2021 and oh yea less then a year later he was a superbowl champion

No logo on the middle of the browns field that yr. We where not winning with the plain orange helmet eather in the middle of the field since we came back in 99. This yr 0 and 16. No identity at all. Ya need throw backs worn on throw back week end. New alternate white helmet 1946 tribute needs logo elf or 1946 football the side. And one of these emblems at the 50. Or Jim Brown orange helmet number 32 at midfield with Grey face mask

I was deployed while the browns were playing like trash.
normally if your rookie QB is doing terrible, you have a serviceable veteran you can start in his place until he works out those rough spots. but no, the Browns have always been unbelievably and impressively dogshit at building their QB room. they draft poorly, don't develop, don't sign backups, etc. imo calling Joe Flacco off the couch was the smartest thing the Browns have ever done at the QB position
