Shannon, thank you for handling this young man’s story delicately. You were nonjudgmental and gave him a safe space to express himself. Our young men need men to walk with them. Big ups to you!
He's really done an amazing job of dealing with his trauma. He's able to talk about it objectively at the age of 30, most people don't get that type of introspection until they are like 50

This is a therapist at its finest , there is great therapy in being able to tell your story , because it reconnects you with your roots and makes you remember where you came from and makes you respect where you are in life , and then when we get to look back at ourselves years later we can see our growth ! Speaking all things into existence!
I’ve never seen 21 Savage appear to be so comfortable and humble in an interview. Shannon thank you so much for providing a safe space for any and everyone to tell their stories.
You should see his first interview with The Breakfast club, similar energy to this and it was great. Liked his music alright at that point but that interview I became a huge fan. 21 Savage is a solid dude
You did an amazing job validating his feelings about his father Shannon! This was such a therapy session and I love how 21 got more comfortable as it went along. I was so into his storytelling I got mad when it went to an ad lmaooo
Yes, gripping is the right word. I’ve never heard this man’s music or knew anything about him, but this interview was powerful on so many levels. I really hope this reaching the ears and minds of many and brings about the start of healing. Amazing!!
He went through so much as a baby and you can see it in his eyes. I’m grateful that our young men have this platform to come be vulnerable. Adults need a village too. Thank you Shannon.
Great platform. And I appreciate the brother 21 savage for being comfortable and open to expressed his feelings, stories, childhood trauma, just speaking on life. And this is much deeper than one knows.. nearly just the American story of some to most of us
Listening to his music he definitely pours his heart out but hearing him just speak about it like this, he ain’t scared to be open about his trauma, I salute that
Yes I concur…and believe that this is the start of a close relationship…he can receive what’s been missing in a male role model…Shay will be his Unc …their chemistry was noticeable
Watching savage have this conversation and the way he listens taught me something. This guy has a way of communicating without any ego and is interested in Shannon’s opinion, it’s refreshing!
One of Shannon’s best features is re stating what his guest says and uses it to move towards the next question (active listening). It makes the guest feel heard, nicely slows the pace, and seamlessly continues the convo.
The moral of 21 Salvage story is the importance of having a father figure in your life. Fathers always do your best that you can for your kids. Your guidance in there life can bring them a far way. Great interview Sir Shay
his mother was trash! from 21 savage mouth, they didnt have to move out the country, she choose to leave and seperate him from his father. and also from 21's own mouth, for the kids that stayed in the u.k. his father was a great father to them! it seems to me his mother shoud'lve left him with his father! Mothers do sooo much harm to growing little boys but never get called out on it.....only the messed up dads....never the messed up moms!
@@igttofficialshe probs moved them to the states so the kids could have more opportunities and a better quality of life. This interview tells you why fathers are important 21 is one of the lucky ones his talent saved him not all the lost sons without a father have the talent to save themselves
Why women knowing this, keep having illegitimate babies, while struggling, and with more no good men, is mind-boggling to me. I just couldn't deal with that type of struggle , especially with small children, because they are innocent and don't deserve this. I don't gv a dam how well they turn out. You can tell he is bothered and damaged by his childhood.
Great Interview. You could tell as the conversation/interview went on, 21 Salvage slowly opened up more and more and became more relaxed. You just never know what a person has been through and to see how he has grown & matured & flourished is pretty amazing. This was a pretty dope sit down.
I’m 59 and thought this was an interesting interview. I keep up with modern rap so I can talk to my kids about things they like. This was good but a sad story. He did speak the truth killing will never stop, that’s why we keep having wars. It’s not just poor people fighting each other.
I respect this young man here. I didn’t like his music early on, but I swear he got better with every project, his style can not be duplicated, originality at its finest. Great interview
I stumbled upon this interview mostly because of the Katt interview. I really enjoyed this interview because the young man is apparently humble, teachable, respectful, candid and down to earth. What stuck out to me was him asking what a word meant to get clarification so he would be better prepared how to answer Shan's question.
This interview was so well done. Shannon did a great job and this was more like a conversation.I have so much respect for this young man-his humbleness, humility and vulnerability came through. I just wanted to give 21 a big hug after this interview. All the best to him.
I've seen many people say it already but Shannon has really created an open space for peole and it's a beautiful thing. I felt like I was watching someone's first therapy session. I hope this is healing for 21❤ i pray he is seeking help because this isn't just child memories he's reliving trauma,
As men, we need to accept our duty as fathers and husbands. Hearing 21 give an account of how his father wasn't a resource in his life is unfortunate. Since the beginning of time, It's been entirely too easy for men to disregard their children and their well-being.
Unc is starting to have the best podcast out there. He makes this platform so comfortable, where the person he’s interviewing is just talking open. I also love that Unc doesn’t cut off the people he’s interviewing.
Literally good vibes even when speaking of a negative situation, know u gotta good thing going for the ppl and the guest mental, when the person speaking on events they can't clearly remember at first but as the keep talking the memories come back, reminiscing nd talking about ur emotions, healthy asf
I came here after watching Offsets interview and this is a good interview as well. 21 is a storyteller, he wants to share, but in a positive way. He has had a lot of trauma that he is releasing in this interview. He didn't plan to say all of this and Shannon recognized it. I wish him well.
This really made me look at 21 differently. I’m older and officially apart of the ‘this is not rap/hip hop’ crew. But honestly just hearing him say he’s talking about life more and at first he was just saying anything … makes me want to listen to the album. Also… I felt he was so open here and I love hearing men be vulnerable. ❤

Who cares 🤣
And how to make dumb choices.
Shay made 21 feel safe, he needed this older brother at this moment.
Indeed
💯Needed Unc
Fathers are so important in a child’s life. I appreciate 21’s transparency 🙏🏾
I always liked 21 Savage but this interview made me even more of a fan! The way Shannon gives a safe space for every single person that sits with him is such a special gift.
Shannon seems like he can make u want to talk about stuff that you wouldn’t tell anyone else
To get a rapper to open up like this shows the truly amazing gift Shannon Sharpe has.
Shannon, thank you for handling this young man’s story delicately. You were nonjudgmental and gave him a safe space to express himself. Our young men need men to walk with them. Big ups to you!
One of his most authentic conversations yet. Love 21
Shannon is the best listener in the world. That's why everyone opens up.
All of his family and friends who passed away are watching over 21 savage, that’s why he’s so huge! This guy is blessed. Rip to his loved ones

He's really done an amazing job of dealing with his trauma. He's able to talk about it objectively at the age of 30, most people don't get that type of introspection until they are like 50

That’s Right 21, tell YOUR Story!! Parents have to understand & accept OUR version, OUR truth of OUR story no matter HOW it makes THEM feel!! You can NOT discredit OUR (MY) feelings, just because it hurts you, or makes YOU feel/look a certain way!! 💯
Very GREAT interview!! 👏🏽🙌🏽
Thank YOU 21/Savage for sharing your story!! ✊🏽🫡❤️❤️

This podcast is really blowing up and Shannon deserves all the credit for keeping it real and creating a safe place where truth and deep conversation can emerge.
Unlike the breakfast club with all em scammers.

I wish the absolute BEST for Mr. Savage. No matter the chitter chatter of naysayers, his willingness to learn and be vulnerable, candid and confident is the reason he will continue to elevate. I'm proud of the young man. Sending healing and positive energy.
I SECOND THAT!! 🙌👏👏👏👏 I'M WITH YOU, I ALSO SEND 🤗 LOVE, RESPECT, POSITIVE ENERGY AND GOOD VIBES!!.. . WHAT I LIKE MOST ABOUT THIS IS YOUNG 21's SPIRIT!! I HAVE A GREAT DEAL OF RESPECT FOR HIM DO TO THE SIMPLE FACT OF HIM JUST BEING HIM AND GIVING US JUST THAT, AS WELL AS HIS COURAGE, AND HUMILITY TO BE TRUTHFUL ABOUT THE GOOD AND BAD TIMES IN HIS LIFE. I have a ton of respect for this dude. High level of self-awareness.
Lol get ready to lose a ton of respect for him
These interviews really let the celebrities be human 💯💯 it's dope to see that they are IN fact human and not some strange species. They experienced everything we experienced and it's nice to see it being shown in a healthy way 🤷🏽
You thought celebrities were different than you??? Just genuinely confused on what you thought was different from them then you???
Man you are like a new celebrity therapist uncle. With all that these guys have going on in their lives , i dont think they really ever sit there and reflect on their lives. Truly a safe space!
Same 😂
Is my music good?.,
You still get ads? Man, I'm genuinely sorry.

This was a gripping interview. Had no idea his childhood was so traumatic. At least he admitted to still being affected by it. #21
You must have not listened to his music
So many of us are😢
Yes, gripping is the right word. I’ve never heard this man’s music or knew anything about him, but this interview was powerful on so many levels. I really hope this reaching the ears and minds of many and brings about the start of healing. Amazing!!
Gripping? Lmao no
21 Savage seems like a very self aware, thoughtful young man. All the best to him.
He went through so much as a baby and you can see it in his eyes. I’m grateful that our young men have this platform to come be vulnerable. Adults need a village too. Thank you Shannon.
When he talked about his father you can hear the cry 🤦🏽♂️💯
I love Shannon’s questioning and how he transitions. It’s seamless a real interview but feels like a conversation
You did it savage !!!you showed this generation that you can transform your life for the better regardless of your circumstances
Omg❤❤❤❤❤🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🥷
Yes Definitely, I'm so proud of him ❤❤
This interview was amazing I love he didn't mind sharing his story I'm so glad 21 was able to change the narrative by taking another path in life
Great platform.
And I appreciate the brother 21 savage for being comfortable and open to expressed his feelings, stories, childhood trauma, just speaking on life. And this is much deeper than one knows.. nearly just the American story of some to most of us

Idk if I ever watched an interview more relaxing and genuine. It’s like unc n 21 been knowing each other for years
Listening to his music he definitely pours his heart out but hearing him just speak about it like this, he ain’t scared to be open about his trauma, I salute that
Unc been killing it since the Katt Williams interview to start this year🔥🔥🔥

Been killing it since before the Katt interview*

Towards the end of the interview it felt like a father, son convo and it made me smile. The end came full circle, this was one of them ones Unc salute.
But why they went back to the states after she knew the visa’s had expired doesn’t rlly make sense to me as now none of them could get jobs or go college or whatever. Maybe it was just ATL was ‘home’ at that point so they went back but idk.
@@djjjjj.1876is london rly worse than east atlanta realistically
@@igttofficialjust cuz he gave an interview don’t mean you know his life enough to speak on his mother…
@@djjjjj.1876I’m from London bro this is the most confusing story ever, why would you move from London to go struggle in the hood in east atlanta.. I defo wanna hear an interview from his mum because this sounds crazy he had no legal rights in America to stay or work imagine if he never became a rapper what would he have done? To me sounds like his mum moved for a man
Shannon Sharpe has the best introductions in podcast history along with some of the best questions in podcast history. He really goes in depth with their career and their lifestyle from childhood to adulthood much props!!!
Next to the 85 South Show I agree
So true! Also, I LOVE the Nipsey song 🎵 as well!! I miss him still, if I hadn't met him, perhaps it wouldn't be so bad 😢 but continue to Rest in Paradise Nip...you are STILL Missed!! 💙💙💙
Great interview, I love the way 21 isn’t afraid of being transparent or asking questions of things he may not know …he’s going to always be able to learn and think outside the box with that approach
- Savage is actually interested in the interview. I respect that
These interviews getting better and better…
21 Savage: On God.
Growing up living and seeing similar situations as 21, i can honestly appreciate the way Shannon is talking to him. It's like therapy for me
Probably don’t live in the ghetto anymore. It’s amazing what not living in the hood does to your mental. You’re probably a regular person now
Fr fr!!!
This interview tells you why fathers are important 21 is one of the lucky ones his talent saved him not all the lost sons without a father have the talent to save themselves

On god
Why women knowing this, keep having illegitimate babies, while struggling, and with more no good men, is mind-boggling to me. I just couldn't deal with that type of struggle , especially with small children, because they are innocent and don't deserve this. I don't gv a dam how well they turn out. You can tell he is bothered and damaged by his childhood.
21 the GOAT. Ain’t nobody stick to a story like 21.
Great Interview. You could tell as the conversation/interview went on, 21 Salvage slowly opened up more and more and became more relaxed. You just never know what a person has been through and to see how he has grown & matured & flourished is pretty amazing. This was a pretty dope sit down.
It was when he got that thc in the system , that got him to that level .

I have heard this guy name a thousand times but had no clue who he was but now I am a fan!
The respect you give to your guest when they are speaking is second to none , I’m appreciative of the of this platform, thank you 🙏🏽
yesss. i didn't even think about this . He listens forreal when they speak. I am liking shay shay more.
Yeah man too many times host be wanting to put their two cents in. Cutting guest off. Shannon lets his guest speak and finish their thoughts.
I can relate so much to 21’s story as an immigrant kid. This interview is therapy for me. congratulations on all the success !
I’m 59 and thought this was an interesting interview. I keep up with modern rap so I can talk to my kids about things they like. This was good but a sad story. He did speak the truth killing will never stop, that’s why we keep having wars. It’s not just poor people fighting each other.
I'm 52 and still a hip hop head
21 is so quiet and reserved it’s so good to finally see him open up
21 listens like he needs a strong mentor. Because the absence of his dad too. Best life to this man.

I hope this is healing for 21❤ i pray he is seeking help because this isn't just child memories he's reliving trauma,

i love how open he is! i didn’t expect him to be this open. God bless this man and his journey
As men, we need to accept our duty as fathers and husbands. Hearing 21 give an account of how his father wasn't a resource in his life is unfortunate. Since the beginning of time, It's been entirely too easy for men to disregard their children and their well-being.
😢😢😢
BINGO they are SELFISH they care about 🐱 more than their children when they leave their child’s mother to be a single parent
Tooo easy u said it right and it's disheartening and sad ....kids grow up with so much hate and resentment
Bro the mom jumped up and left the country. She was wrong.
@@deeplus777ninjas never hold women accountable. I can almost guarantee this brother is projecting because he probably grew with just his mother.
This is powerful. I commend 21 Savage for being open in his truth and Shannon for making the platform a place for truth ❤
His music is amazing, definetly check it out
