Great job with providing information with the nutone bath heater/fan.. the one I have in my house was installed in 1995 when the house was built. Because of cleaning fan , heater and coils and making sure there are no blockages in duct work. It still looks very good and it’s used daily unless it’s summer.. great product everyone should purchase this brand
Found this video this morning. I have the model without the heater. Your instructions still applicable, right down to the tool needed. Made my life a lot easier today! Thanks! I just subscribed to your channel. Happy new year!
Thank you, I have this exact exhaust and heat fan and I started smelling a burn smell when I’d flip the heat on but anyways relieved it’s cleaner. I didn’t pull everything out to clean but I got it as good as possible
My fan looks the same on the outside, but the inside of my fan / lightb 688RP looks totally different can you tell me what to do I send you a picture of the inside of my 1998 fan?
Turn off at the breaker. Double-check to make sure it was the right one. Especially in an old house where a lot of work was done but not necessarily correctly.
I thought my fan needed replacing. My old fan just needed to be taken off, blown off w/ the air compressor, vacuumed, and a bit of WD40. Works like new again! No replacement needed.
I have this exact model and fan stopped working while the heat and light work. I plugged in the fan to an outlet and still nothing. I can hear the power come on but no movement from fan. It’s not old. Just got a few months ago. Any thoughts on what it can be?
@@repairclinic There is an existing fan combo that I’m replacing, with this particular unit. My issue is the existing wiring is a little confusing, it has two separate romex wires and at the switch it has total of six wires…. Can you help?
I have this exact same fan in my restroom apt. Are the fans or units interconnected with the apt below my apt somehow? I have a strong smell of cigarettes coming from other apt, but I can’t figure out if it is coming through the fan or maybe the outlets or cabinets in the wall. Any one has any idea?
I have an older Broan unit that is emitting a high pitched tone when off. It will last for 5 - 10 minutes then stop. Is there a motor warning alarm or something? I’ve unplug the fan and heat unit and the tone still keeps going.
Have a Broan Bathroom fan model QTR100FLT-A that's developed a constant BEEEeeeeep alarm like noise. No matter what we disconnect (lightbulbs, fan) or turn off at the switch the constant beep as in like an alarm continues. High pitched and CONSTANT. Runs for hours requiring us to shut all doors to the bathroom. Have researched both RUclips and Google with no solutions. HELP????
I currently have just an Broan exhaust fan/light combo installed. Do you think the existing circuit can support an exhaust fan/light/heater combo? I realize I'll need to trim the ceiling a few more inches to accommodate the new housing.
Seems like overkill to switch off the circuit breaker seeing how everything has an electrical plug and socket. I wouldn't kill the circuit breaker to plug in lamps at my house. It probably doesn't hurt as a safety precaution in the case of the fan.

Wow. You even showed what tools were needed and safety precautions. Hands down best video out there

Question, I don’t have a heater. Is it necessary to turn the power off @the breaker?
Will it be fine to just make sure the switch is off?
Thank you.

What is the model number for the heating element in order to make a purchase?
Thanks for this video. It helped us to fix the unit and bulb. Very useful.
Is it safe to leave the heater unplugged if you don’t want the heating element?
Needed to clean mine thank you so much . I need the exhaust fan tho it’s making loud noise. Where can I get it?
Where can I buy the replacement exhaust motor and what is the part number
How do I get the whole thing out of the ceiling?

If the fan stopped working after 2 years is it likely broken so soon? should I try to fix it or just buy a new fixture? Ty
Can you show how to install this unit ?

😂 I figured it out. After identifying each wire via multimeter.

Hey what is the point of the heater I’ve been wondering for long time
Heating the bathroom.
What was the repair?
This is a disassembly video for the Broan/NuTone Bath Fan. Check out our troubleshooting videos and part replacement videos.

the notches on the frame don't match up. The old one is exactly the same but the frame notches are closer together.....

It depends on how it’s wired. If this is using switch legs, there will always be power even with the switch off.
we do not want a fire or because the smoke arlam cloud go off we do not want that how long cloud it take
Great video Thank you
