Remove oil filter from bottom while you’re underneath draining the oil. Much easier

Thanks for a very well-done video. Good lighting, focus, camera angles, and verbiage. Was trying to figure out where the filter was located in that beast.

Pour oil into your new filter first thing. While the oil is draining and you are removing the old oil filter the new oil will migrate through the filter media and be in between the filter media and the sidewall of the oil filter. now while you are installing that new filter no oil will run out of the new filter during installation. been doing it for years.

Hey bro ..My 07 4.6 let's me grab it from the bottom and bypass all the bullshit your doing ....who ever told you to go in from the top plus each truck has a drip pan that directs any oil away and down ...

What about that big crossmember directly under the oil filter? Kid of makes it hard to change from below.

Oil filter removal non-pro real life tip: valiant owner reaching down from the top of the engine to get to the filter through a maze of pieces and confined spaces. No no no, son. And don't lay under the truck while it's jacked up and your head is at the oil drain plug, you're facing front, legs toward the front. You'll scratch your head trying to think how to get it around a plastic piece in the way on an 08 F 150 4.6.
Here's what you do: Crawl out. Into the light. From underneath. face the truck, driver side, underneath. Lo and behold my friend the bottom of the filter can will be facing you. Easiest removal if you have one of the inexpensive oil filter wrenches that fit on the end of it. Long socket wrench extension gets a precise, perfect fit. If Gorilla Jimmy has not torqued it to 200 foot pounds, you should be able to turn it counter clockwise to loosen. If he/she/it has over tightened it like an idiot, put something on the socket wrench to make a longer handle -- like a heavy metal pipe -- or you may need a Breaker Bar, and it will give you the extra torque to remove it. Only hand tighten plus just snug it up maybe a quarter of a turn, not 2 full turns. No way brother. You don't need all that farm power muscle for an oil filter. Save it for the fence stretching. For all oil filters, hand i tighten plus snug always unless some manual says otherwise. The filter won't loosen as you go down the road.

You're going through way to much trouble to remove the filter..just my opinion.

Do not over tighten the drain plug you will regret it next oil change.

Did not wait until the oil drained down. Dit not start it let it run for a few minutes then let it set for a time allowing all oil to return to the pan. A true fail here folks.
