I love pes but this reviewer has never played a pes game. Most of these traits and stuff he talks about in Master League is not new. At least get somebody who's played Pes in the past to give it a review
PES 2018 is the first one I've actually tried to put some time into. I just started last week. Yet, hearing his review almost made me think he was talking about 2018.
He doesn't need to be experienced to be qualified. It's all about the experience that the reviewer has.
I was literally coming here to say the same thing PES is great but the things this reviewer said are mostly old features hen at the end he says speaks as if he has played previous games which it's obvious he hasnt
AngryNerds100 He doesn't have to be an expert at the game, but at the very least he should be fact-checking his work before claiming certain features are new.

This review is embarrassing IGN.. Most of the “New” features you guys mentioned like Fighting Spirit & Super Sub were in the game last year. New Features in Master League like Team Roles?.. Also in last years PES. I seriously think the reviewer has quickly looked up new features for the new PES & accidentally without realising had been looking at a PES 2018 article. Lazy reviewing at its finest.

Last year's PES got 9.1(just saw) and this years is LOOKING better , idk cause i haven't played it , but it looks great and better than before. And 8.2?

maybe coz they loose the champions league license, so gameplay n graphic is stunning, but, downside is still license, if they have license like fifa, then it will be king of football game. :)

DUDE!!!! Those "RPG like" stats like "Super Sub" or "PK Taker" have been on PES from PES 2009 at least. There were some other even before, so it's definitely no news! There's then nothing new to this version of the game

i play both and i don't like both of them now i quit pes since like 2014 witch was the point where pes games haven't changed since and was not fun without a great online mode .
so i stuck with fifa and played 14 til 18 and everytime they add new things to the online system and the ultimate team witch was fun but now i don't see that much difference between the both of them other than that fifa is gonna be successful cuz of it's FUT and pes is gonna get shat on cuz it never changes and it's boring playstyle will keep the game dead forever > only option for them to make a comeback is to add interesting multiplayer mode and make the game free or cheap . other than that konami should cancel it
Improve on what exactly? Like you haven't had enough graphic boost? Or will you be playing exhibition till pes2020 comes out? ML has always been d crowning glory of football games and even fifa (as shitty as thier gameplay might b) improve on dat every year.

Sorry but that’s a terrible review. Not only is the gameplay the best in any football game ever, the graphics and the lighting is incredible. Yes the game modes are not great but its gameplay that keeps bringing you back at the end of the day.

If only Fifa had a more realistick on pitch gameplay to back that up.
PES is about gameplay on the pitch where as Fifa bot being bad, just is not as much on the pitch when it comes to realism.
I have played Fifa since Fifa 97 and played most of them up to Fifa 18.
Fifa 18 was not bad but the missing on pitch gameplay made me go for pes 2019.
Glad I made that choice tbh.

Fifa is for FUT players that spend money on packs and scripting(Oh boy! And you know how EA loves their scripting 😉 👌) What saves Fifa is PES. Madden has no major comp, so you get what you get now: hot summer, stinking garbage 😂😂😂....as always.

Retro Rambles I know but there’s a market for Nintendo that should be looked in to it! I’m a FIFA fan but clearly they have not put enough work in to it. When games such as Wolfstein and NBA run the latest engines and work nicely

I slide tackle all the time, I very rarely get a player sent off. Timing is everything, very satsifying to dispossess an opponent who is about to score or thread an important through ball with a well timed sliding tackle.

Slide tackling really is the best thing in PES when it comes to defending.
I really love how you can time them right and make advantage of certain situations with them
Thats something that always frustrates me in FIFA, where slide tackling is useless, since its like sliding in front of ball and player without hitting anything..

On pitch gameplay? no.
In terms of license and other game options? yes.
TBH to me gameplay on the pitch is far more important than the amount of game features and licenses.
I have played Fifa since 1994 and always liked it, but PES has had an advantage over Fifa in years when it comes to the on pitch gameplay.
This time I stick with PEs 2019 because I wan't better on pitch gameplay.
In PES you have to fight for the points where as in FIFA I ALWAYS WON THE LEAGUE even on much higher settings, and it all just felt so unreal in so many ways.
That is me tbh.
Fifa got 8.2 as well. Pretty sure both developers flopped. We probs won't see much improvement until the next-gen of consoles, when games will be like 1TB or something

PES does great things gameplay wise but it genuinely has no game modes which entice me to keep playing nearly every year. Even my club which is supposed to be the game mode with longest lifespan comes out free a few months later on psn anyway.

Every feature you said is new was already present in pes 2018 lol, i guess the only thing new in pes 2019 is the new grass and a couple of new leagues licences.
Imad Tata the gameplay is also a big improvement if u have played the demo
@@sarimshabee2824 I wouldn't call it a "big" improvement, it feels better but it's not a big deal for a game that costs 60$, i will not stop playing pes 2018 and drop 60$ on pes 2019 just cause they improved the gameplay a little, not worth it, especially after they lost the rights to the Champions League.
The gameplay feels like it's overhauled although the speed is the same, the animations and first touch made it a tad slower.
Nobody plays champions league every single game. We had it like a decade or so. I don't mind seeing more new leagues instead of CL and EL. PES could attract different fanbase!!

I hear a lot of bad rep about this review, but after watching it, it's actually not wrong... It just misses the spot. Big time.
It sounds like it's trying to sell a videogame to the most entry level casual of gamers, and people who doesn't even watch football.
PES... Is the game for the players. It's for people who are willing to look past the licensing (or spare 5 minutes to fix it) and willing to put the time playing the game.
PES is for the most hardcore football supporters. Who will play as their hometown club and against all odds win championships, against giants like madrid or barca.
PES fans don't need this kind of weak review. And those who need it, won't like PES.

Anyone know if you can mod PES to get the actual teams and players on the PC?
There are tones of patches available for pc. Not only they fix the leagues/kits, they recreate stadiums, etc

@All In One been playing Fifa since Fifa 98 mate. used to be my favorite game but it's now just a quick cash grab title for EA where they now only focus on improving the Ultimate Team

Have been part of PES eco-system since forever. Nothing new here. This is a disappointed version of PES with nothing new just adding "new" hub in the menus. IF you already own 2018...skip this one. You aint missing anything to be honest
The stats get more and more inaccurate every year too. I redid the stats for hundreds of players in PES 2018, so i'll be sticking with it.. plus the defence A.I. in this looks like a downgrade
The ONLY reason I want '19 is for the HDR. Doesn't seem worth it at all other than that imo.

Agreed - very minor changes overall and no new modes! At least PES 2018 has the Champions League and Europa Cup licences! Seriously, not even one new mode...c'mon Konami, step up your game! I only got into PES a few months ago (went from FIFA 08 -> FIFA 10 -> FIFA 18 -> PES 2018) and PES is SO MUCH BETTER gameplay-wise...but the content is severely lacking! And myClub servers for PES 2018 will be down in 2019 which is quite sad.

Erm it totally is. Just look at the bustling in the box, pressure on other players, tackles usually involve contact. It’s no netball, that’s for sure.

with PES is that players are moving without making steps. Once they fix that, I will switch from FIFA. Now it's more sliding than running.

Honestly, I love the new commentary and overall atmosphere stadium sounds/fans. Also, Fifa has a much better slider system so I can tweak the game to play with authenticity.
Fifa will not have Brazil Uruguay and another national team this year
the graphical upgrade is quite amazing when you play it and the ball physics are great. Everything else felt the same.
Final conclusion FIFA > PES
Both games are not even out..
