Nice PC for the business user. Camera looks good. Speakers sounded very good. Display is good. Like the 3x2 aspect ratio for a 13.5 in. laptop. Plenty of screen real estate for the user. Professionals will be happy with this unit. Great review as always.
Not a bad laptop with good quality webcam and built-in mic for the mobile professional who wants something light and that will get the work done! Awesome job Andrew!! 👍😁
I’m surprised that the Lenovo X1 Nano Gen 2 didn’t also use the same 1265U processor as this one. HP made the right call going with this power-light processor in such a light form factor.
Super camera and the audio really sounded good. The 3:2 display format is a feature one often doesn’t value until it’s experience. The long battery life surprised me. Nice.
This has to be one of if not the most practical (getting back to what laptops were originally made for) laptops available. Matt screen YES! ,3:2 Ratio screen YES!, Sim card slot for internet conection YES! and USB A slot YES! Keep it up HP this is a winner.
Coming from a gen 3 think pad x1 Carbon. I liked hp models. However I have been pleased with the Lenovo life cycle until the keyboard stopped working as it got damaged in a flight and recently the battery is dead but the machine still operates even after recent windows 11 updates but it is outdated now, I guess I have had 5/6 years of solid good use out of it, my question is will HP complete and stand the test of time in terms of build quality and life time value?
I wish more laptops would use 3:2 displays. The Surface Laptop design is a little dated now, the Matebook X Pro 2022 isn't easily available and tops out at 16GB, this looks great but is a little pricey. I wish there was a 3200x2000 LCD touch display option like the Matebook to eliminate any burn-in concerns. 90Hz would be a bonus.
Good review as always Andrew. Very nice laptop! I like the color choices. I guess no card reader slot because it's meant for business? These new PC's are such a temptation, but I still like that my Apple products all work together. Kind of good for an artist I think.
Very interesting laptop. Mics sounded somewhat metallic and low ? Weight "starting at 1 kg"... is that with the leightest screen, without 5G, with smallest battery? How much does it add to have the 68 Wh battery?
Again a very useful and informative laptop review 👍! It might be a device for the mobile road warrior but is there such a huge demand for a modem in a laptop??? When I’m on the road I always carry my phone, so having the option to connect via phone’s hotspot. What could be a use case to have a NFC scanner in the touchpad 🤔? Another question, is it by default at HP that if they switch to clamshell the screen is non-touch?
Great video for a great laptop. Just wish results were also compared to the X1 Nano, which is probably the most direct competitor. A smackdown between the 2 would have been awesome, but I guess the Nano went back to lenovo after the review...
Hi Andrew! Plz remember to test the new Matebook X Pro 2022. I’m looking forward to hear yr thoughs (maybe with a comparison with the XPS 13 Plus…I’m in 2 minds between these 2), impartial as usual! Tks a lot!
Very good webcam quality.....unfortunately, Zoom meetings are increasing even with the people returning to the office! Now conference rooms are collecting dust and filling up with legal boxes. Thank you for another great video!
Is this unit compatible with the same pen that works with the previous Dragonfly Models (G2 & earlier)? If not is it compatible with any type of pen/stylus? (ie. Wacom)
Hi Andrew, need your assistance because when I chatted with a few different HP reps using the online chat neither could answer my question. Do you know if the touchscreen options support an HP stylus as well?
I got the G2 version that is foldable/touchscreen it is in a nice blue metallic colour. they should have renamed it. I also have the HP G7 Firefly from 2 years ago. touchscreen but never been a foldable which was a shame
@andrewmarcdavid Andrew - have been watching many of your notebook reviews. Im looking for a 3:2 or 16:10 aspect ratio w/matte screen device with mobile broadband capability and the best possible battery life. Watched your review and am interested in the Lenovo X1 Carbon and you gave it a ding on battery life. Then this video, looks pretty solid. Whats your recommendation, given my requirements? Thanks!
@@marcello4258Some people like opening a million Chrome tabs then suddenly need to edit an image in PS all while Outlook and Teams is running. Or some variation of that. Different people just use their laptops differently.
That drop jaw USB port is a dumb idea...unless you're totally aware of it, even the tech conscious will ding/scratch it. The new non-convertible hinge also seem like a cop-out, it mimics the generic hinge of other HP laptops, and doesn't seem as high quality as the previous convertible hinge.
@@andrewmarcdavid MacBook air has the better screen (higher res, also the g3 viewing angles are abysmal) Performance is basically identical even tho the m1 is 2 years old (technically the m1 has a higher multi score) m1 Much better battery life and better trackpad, better software support. A quite arguable location of USB-C on right had side. Let assume you connect PD unit via USB-C there and cords goes back, and connect headset, and cables will cluttered then. Left side looks better with the HDMI port.
Why every RUclipsr, when talks about 3:2 aspect ration of laptop displays, just talk about how 16:9 move will look like there and about borders above and below? Why don't they ever talk how ordinary photo pictures, that initially intended to be 3:2 (24:36 on 35 mm film) will look like on that display? Why don't they talk, that IMAX native format is 3:2? Why don't they talk about old TVs and movies (4:3 or 5:4), that are still watched a lot will look on both 3:2 and 16:9 displays? And where borders left and right will be bigger
Currently, you are the only RUclipsr who reviewed G3 properly. Nice move! Subscribed!
Thanks really appreciate it

im really impressed with this battery life, i didnt know that was possible on alder lake cpu
Sound reproduction is great for a small form factor. Upgradeable SSD is very much welcome. Nice video, thanks.

Very curious why HP decided to move away from 360 hinge...? 🤔

Would like to see it compared to the HP ZBook Firefly G9
Is it good for programming ?

R23 graph is not to scale. It looks like 25% difference between 1st and last, when it’s more like 7%

No stylus support on this model but if you want stylus support get the HP Dragonfly Folio G3. My review should be out today or tomorrow.

Almost perfect except for some reason if you go for the OLED display it only comes with 16 gb RAM whereas they offer with 32 for the worse displays...
Why would you need 32gb on such a device?

Beautiful color, but too small for me.
