Klein tried to push Paul's release date to make room for an album Paul did not want released. And he did this after the other three had already released solo records while Paul had waited. It's absolutely bananas that people got "Paul is the bad guy" out of that for so many years. Also the narrative that Paul "broke the news" of the Beatles' split as some sort of marketing gimmick is such a load. As if they didn't drive him to that decision.
Right. The truth is, Paul did the most to keep the group together in their final years. Without his efforts, I think the White Album easily could have been their final release.
@@christopher9152 I think maybe even Sgt. Pepper would have been their final release if not for Paul pushing them to do the Mystery Tour, not to mention coming home and starting work on the White Album before George and John were willing to leave India.
Interesting mini-documentary. I'm grateful to have been alive through the entire time the Beatles were together. My first memory of them started with the 1964 Ed Sullivan show, and somehow I'm still a dedicated Beatlemamiac. Will today's pop stars have a worldwide dedicated fan base of all ages, 60 years from now? Time will tell.
No, but also I don't think it's very fair to compare any pop star or musicians from any era to the Beatles in terms of global impact, dedicated fan base, or lasting/relevancy power. Once in a millennium luck led to essentially four very great solo artists/genius musicians, having a childhood chemistry and loads of experience to a blossoming genre at that time, leading to the formation of so many new genres, just to classify and label the music they make. You can't really say that about anyone in the music world, which is why their legacy imo, will define our generation in human history.
I really enjoy your minidocumentaries... especially the ones that involve the beatles...one question... wasnt it in 1970 that Paul and George went back to the studio to record the song I Me Mine for the Let it Be album?
A lot of Miles Davis' bands had that. He was notorious for it actually. Same with Frank Zappa. Not quite AS successful as the individual Beatles careers obviously but still noteworthy.
Wow, all kinds of fascinating information -- mainly infighting -- I never heard before. These were real people with real lives and conflicts. Album releases never disclose much -- really -- about how the "sausage~" was made. Congrats, great, great work. I will soon turn 68.
Damn was that informative or what it’s just packed with information thank you so much for sharing 💪the BEATLES are by far the greatest band ever and will always be the greatest band ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish the Beatles members understood that the music they made was pretty special, and if it meant taking a few years off from each other to explore what they were capable of on their own just to see that they were best together, that should have been came to pass. We as a music consuming public would have been the beneficiaries of such a continued collaboration. I guess we should be grateful for what we have. I often wonder what alternate so-called multiverse timelines have in those realities concerning the Beatles? Was there more Beatles music to be had? A fine question I ask is what would life be like if "Let It Be" was issued without Phil Specter's treatments and came out before "Abbey Road"? Would we have been blessed to have the Beatles' catalog seeing "Abbey Road" as their final album, the pinnacle of their collaborative works? Or are all things right with the world having "Let It Be" be seen as the last word in the life of the band?
The force within Paul that pushed that band to the top was possibly the force that drove them to resent him eventually. They'd reached the end of the road as a band, they'd grown apart but from the accounts we have, I think they treated Paul unfairly. And in the end, he was right about Klein too.
I am interested to see the books for what happened to Lennon‘s share of the Let It Be royalties. Did a single red cent ever end up being given to peace groups and advocacy? I would be very surprised if that was the case.

It was Jann Wenner at Rolling Stone magazine that buddied up with John in 1970, while putting the boots to Paul in the mag - for the world to see, that started the anti - Paul drama, which lasted years - as he knew John wanted. Klein got his boots to Paul, internally while acting manager... but Paul had his own baggage that pissed the Fabs for years when he took over for Brian. Paul was voted fave Fab by the fan club, up until '68, when John took over, despite his daily LSD trips that (nearly?) destroyed him
Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones. Paul mentions in Mark Lewisholm's book "The Beatles Recording Sessions" that Paul was expecting Brian to bring a guitar to the sessions instead of a sax. Instead, Paul had Brian play a "ropey, shaky sax" solo for the song. BTW, didn't need to google that. Have enough Beatles books read to know this.
Perhaps, IF you quit mentioning [all of] Yoko's failed pregnancies, people might enjoy [your] videos and contribute... and not unsubscribe [such as I, myself]. Geeze... if it's not the "Paul conspiracy", tired-old religious subject, etc., people will come up with something else. 🙄

John got jealous, unfortunately end of story for Saul, who fortunately had died by then
"Paul is the bad guy", came from his suing the other 3.
Klein set up a trap by inviting Paul to a session with the other three? Christ, this is a low point.

John, George and Ringo: You are not to put out your McCartney album at the same time we’re putting out Let It Be.
Which always confused me because Let it Be is Paul's album anyway
