I’ve heard of this fabled video where Tony messes up and says “oh you old mule”… my buddy told me about it years ago. I FINALLY found it! Thank you for the awesome piece of bluegrass history/folklore
This is an amazing performance on many levels. I've heard Tony play better, but he is great on his worst days and is a living legend. The other guitarist that took a break nailed it, and the fiddle and mando players kicked butt. But the banjo player with no fingers on his left hand blew me away. That was the first I've seen him. I need to get more familiar with Mountain Heart's music to find out who some of these people are.
I was standing right by the stage mesmerized by the picking during this show.!
The incredible Tony Rice.... RIP
Everything about this is what music is all about!
Terry and that Deering banjo.

That is quite funny!
Now, THAT's What bluegrass is all about...artists and their instruments...and pleasing to the ears!
BRILLIANT 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏!!!
That banjo picker is Barry Abernathy. He played with Doyle Lawson. That's the first time i was amazed by that dude !😊
Barry is incredible, the word "can't" obviously does not exist in his vocabulary.
Good damn jam.✨😏😉
