I'm an old metal head turned bluegrasser back in the early 2000's. I can tell you I have more fun playing bluegrass than I ever did playing metal back in the day!
Probably one of the top 5 all around musicians in bluegrass. Josh seems to be laid back, until the pick hits the strings. I got to meet his mandolin picker when my group played Floydfest a fee years back. Ate dinner with his dad. It was cool.
I never heard of Josh Williams until I saw him playing in a Rhonda Vincent video.....I almost hit the floor.....IMO Josh is easily in the top 5 players out there...
I love love love this. My favourite rendition of 'Freeborn Man' was always by 'Doctor' Dan Crary with Berline and Hickman from waay back in the day....until RUclips where I found Josh and the boys cranking this without busting a sweat. By the way Josh, I so treasure the handshake and chat when you were packing up after a show with Rhonda and the Rage; Oneonta, NY back 2012 or so... what a treat to meet a fellow wristwatch enthusiast. Best, me. ;^)
Now I'm only going to say this one time so listen very closely ( by the grace of God by god it just don't get any better than that lord forgive me please but I had to say it that is absolutely a hair raising piece of art that will cause a preacher to take a swallow or two thank you son keep on gettin it done)
Josh picks that guitar pretty good and has played in some distinguished company over the years including the great Tony Rice. Thanks for sharin his music.
I'm glad to see Tony Rice got his voice back and he looks younger. JK no disrespect, Josh is amazing at multiple instruments and has a great voice. My guitar playing is 95% Tony Rice based too. It's to the point now that bluegrass guitar players are Tony Rice influenced like banjo players are Earl Scruggs influenced.
Its a Kendrick!!!! never have i held a better guitar! im talking Willcuts in lexington got any martin D-28, D-45, any taylors you can name! BUT THOSE KENDRICKS BACK & sides east Indian rose wood, front some kinda spruce usually german, neck stock cuban mahogany, they use alot of 200 year old wood!!! there heavy to hold! I'd give ️whatever material things I have just to own one!!!! there all hand made! NO CNC!!!!

I'm a metalhead, but Bluegrass is by far the most fun genre to play on guitar - in my opinion

Just saw Rhonda Vincent last weekend, having Josh in her band is really something special. Man can those guys cook.

Im glad it got to that point, Tony was a force of nature that should be studied by so many musicians!
i hate that we have the same name... lolz... but this guy is great...
Need that fiddle
Literally the only thing that’s kinda missing is an awesome fiddle solo/ backing

Great talent and like the way Josh introduces each member of the band when they do their solo. What kinda guitar is Josh pickin here ? Thanks.

I think that is a Collier.
That is not his Kendrick. I own 2 of those bad boys :) The headstock on the Kendricks are very easy to spot@@johnnyballinger1558
8-Track Theater it is, other videos show the headstock better, the “c” is a dead giveaway
