Another great Squale. I got this one for Xmas. I now have 3 Squale in my collection. This is overall the best homage of the Submariner.

JUST received this exact watch from Gnomon. Profess I like it all in all. My "free gift" was a polishing cloth with the Gnomon logo in gold. Shipping was DHL, nice and fast with no issues. The watch itself is nice. The arrow and lume pip on the bezel is a bit sloppy in finishing but everything else seems to be fine so far. There is no serial number engraved on the caseback but checking other places appears to confirm this is normal. Hopefully the wear will confirm this one to be a solid addition to the collection. Fingers crossed.

Late to comment but to call this a submariner homage is a tat of an injustice. Google Blancpain 1545. Squale made these cases for Blancpain since the 60s. The current 1545s are just a tribute to their past.

I had a green one many, many years ago (also fromGnomon, a great place to buy a watch online). It had an aluminum bezel and no cyclops. It was. Great watch. The bracelet was especially good. The ETA 2824 was insanely good. I have had really good luck with ETA 2824 / SW200’s, and terrible luck with 7750’s and 2892’s. Similarly, I have had great luck with Seiko 4R, and terrible luck with 6R movements.
My biggest issue concerned the printed dial (I need applied indices). Had it existed then, I would have purchased the Cronos with an SW200.

Have you let the watch run out of power yet? The ETA movement in my Steinhart OVM39 was running +10 seconds consistently from when I first wound it then I left it at home for a long weekend & when I re-started it, it's been running at +0.7 seconds. Might be worth a go to see if this one drops the same 👍
Nice watch & I definitely know which one of the trio I'd buy 😃

It’s not a simple hommage of the Rolex Submariner. Squale in the past has produced cases for Rolex. Really love this watch. I have different versions of the Rolex Submariner, but I think that one day I’m gonna add this Squale to my watches collection. For the price it costs it’s a very good watch for the every day use

I got mines 1 year ago and had a plague of issues. However they have all been sorted out by shipping it back twice to Gnomon. Costed me $45 US each time but their servicing department finally delivered properly on the warranty. Overall the size is perfect, the bezel is sublime, and it does wear real comfy. Lume does not last long at all. Pretty weak compared to my Steinhart Ocean 1 GMT in titanium

I bought the 30 atmos version of this watch 10 months ago. It's a little bigger than I'd like, but it's been a great watch. I last set it almost two months ago and it's less than -14s off. I realize that may be an outlier, but that's 0.2 seconds a day. I've noticed no QC issues at all. I get the homage criticisms, but for what it is, it's a great watch. Also had a good experience with Gnomon.

I've had one with the old aluminium insert a few years back. it didn't last a week until i sold it. surprisingly enough, i can sell it at the same price i bought it (or more) because at that time this particular model has been sold out. i just didn't click with the watch, i think the lume on dial was thinly applied, crown a little too big and didn't like the new von buren logo. i bought a 50 atmos and much happier with the watch. whatever i felt with the watch at that time, i think the overall quality is good. the case has amazing finish and sits much better than steinhart on the wrist.

The good thing about this watch is its size: there are almost no mid-sized divers anymore, especially in the mid range watches. After flipping a couple of Squale 50atm, a pair of Seikos, i finally got a second hand Seamaster midsize.

I just recently got the Ferrovia variant of it.
    Painted indices as well.
As far as i know there are models with applied indices, eventually it is up to personal taste, applied indices do give nice depth but painted indices have a more utilitarian tool look.

Got mine back in April. It really was between this and the Steinhart 39. This video and Random Rob helped me to chose the Squale. I honestly have never been a big fan of the Mercedes style hands. The little crest above the text at the twelve o' clock is making my OCD go nuts because that throws off the symmetry so much! Although, I love the polishing on the bezel. Now, I know this isn't relevant to this particular video, but on a different video of yours, the best joke you've ever made is, "Welcome to 'Just One More Watch' where the videos last longer than an Australian prime minister!" Definitely my next watch. My current dive watch is the seiko skx007 and I have an orient ray 2. But this one sure looks the business. Just unsure about the vintage looking dial. Applied indices look far nicer than painted, more dressier. Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t the original Rolex sub have painted indices too? Would settle for a Tudor black bay but it’s out of my budget.
Just recently purchased a Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic 38mm on a bracelet, definitely think your channel should review that watch. It’s a great watch, my first Swiss made purchase. The clasp on the 1545 is complete tin junk - it's thin, and the extension feels like it's going to break - I'm looking to hopefully replace it with a clasp from strap code if compatible. Crossing fingers.

I think looking at the watch every day the printed dial would nag away and be a bit of a let down to an otherwise great watch .

I like the Steinhart OVM 39 for a milsub. The Squale is nice but the date window kills it for me. The markings on the bezel are also not true to the original.

I really don't understand the desire "Swiss Made" seems to generate and I certainly don't understand the extra couple of hundred bucks it then seems to add on to the price. But hey its only my opinion, 1 amongst millions of others. I will pass on this one. Great review as always Jody 👍
