My 1545 has the same features as yours, but my watch & bracelet are black PVD coated. ~After three years, it still looks great and running great. ~It's one of my Never Sell watches.
I have the 1545 maxi dial. The choice was this or the Steinhart. The ceramic bezel on the Squale is better and the cyclops magnification is done right. I have this and the Squalematic Atmos 60 which is on the higher end. I think Squale is pretty good quality for the money.
Nice review. I actually have the Green Version of this. It’s slightly different. It has a printed dial and no cyclops. It very nice. Personally, I have lost interest in Submariner Homages, at first I was into them. However if you want a Swiss Made Submariner Homage at a decent price and you want 40mm, this is a good choice. I believe they upgraded all versions to ceraminic inserts.
Bottom line is that the specs on this watch are by far better than the specs on the 16610 Rolex did it homages. I own the 1545 20 Atmos classic ceramic and I am very pleased with the watch. BUY IT!
That's an interesting comment... which specs do you mean? Yes the Rolex is multiple times the cost, but as for accuracy, steel rating, water rating, etc... I can't think of a single facet where this is better.

Probably one of the best Rolex homage watches in the market. Of course, there are tons of them, but Squale Classic 1545 is as solid and reliable as Toyota Camry. Very good price for the value and there isn't much for me to complain about. However, if I can nick pick one thing, I would love to see the Rolex Glide lock bracelet & clasp here. I mean if Ginault & Tisell can do it, why can't they? In my opinion, Rolex Sub bracelet & clasp is probably the best one in the market. And if they are available and apparently they are, I wonder why Squale and other Rolex homage watch companies aren't using it more. And why they all have to go with the same style clasp like everyone else. it is getting very boring... At least, Monta Oceanking has something similar and as good as the real thing. Monta has done a great job with bracelet & clasp. And If the quality of the Rolex homage bracelet/glide lock can be as good as Ginault quality, I am sure that they can charge a couple of hundred dollars more and i really would like to know why they aren't doing it. other than that, Squale is a very solid watch. Someday i would like to own one, but there are some better choices out there. Yesterday, I bought a Mathey-Tissot, MADE IN SWISS, Rolly Vintage Automatic Black Dial Pepsi Bezel Men's Watch at $259.00 from Joma. with "SW200" movement with see-thru case back...etc. This is one of the reason that I can not just invest my money on Squale. Thanks Alex - yep, totally agree regarding the clasp... it seems like a bugbear for a lot of micro-brand and pretty much all established Swiss brands at this price range, and I'm not really sure why it should be like that! Interesting that the Mathey-Tissot says "MADE IN SWISS"? Is that different to "Swiss Made"??

I have never had one in my life. but when I researched it, the brand has been in one family since 1886 and produce all Swiss Made with relatively very low pricing. I just liked the look of that watch I have bought. I just looked very good via very limited youtube viewing. I didn't get the bracelet version because I am 100% certain that I wouldn't like the bracelet. so I got the leather band version and if I really like the watch, I am going to invest $100+ to buy a nice jubilee bracelet. Great piece this one Ivan. I was pretty impressed with the overall fit and wearability of it and would definitely consider picking one up - maybe the new green dial one or the blue. 40mm is a great size for me (i still love my larger pieces occassionally though - aka Sumo). Cheers bud 👍
Cracking review, nice piece....like you I have no issue with homage pieces....more often than not it's as close as some of us will get....this one is, I think a good example of almost there....generic safe design, good quality but standard s/s case and bracelet, a very good movement, all in all a well executed homage and then they go and ruin it with a non lumed aluminum insert and an after thought and dare I say poor quality clasp....a bit of a kick in the royals for people that are parting with over 500 if there hard earned....there a huge amount of competition at this price point....nice to see the chap is really using it though, plenty love scars on it....⌚🏴⌚🏴
Thanks again Brian - yeah this one is a few years old now and I think Squale have upgraded the piece since, although I’m not sure of all the details. At the time, it was widely loved as one of the best Sub homages around... times and the competition have changed.
Nice watch, but still probably prefer the Steiny as it looks a little less as direct copy/homage. I think this Squale sits good on your wrist, however for some models, and I can't recall which one specifically, but anyone with wrists above 7.5 inches and I've seen the case popping above the wrist too much. You know, the case doesn't sit flat, and can bulge above the bracelet.

Definitely better, as it should be for $500... this is more like a Steinhart, and I will be doing a head-to-head soon. Squale gets respect for their cases, they used to make for Blancpain, among other brands. Bracelet is also better, with the screw link construction.

How good would you say the lume is on this particular model in terms of brightness and endurance? Many say it has a rather weak lume (as a C1) compared to many out there (and doesn't last very lume). This is the one thing that's making me hesitate picking one up. Can you comment? Thx.
Brightness immediate after charge is fine, but that's not the real test of course... endurance matters more and it's not fantastic on this watch. If lume is critical for you, then I would advise not to get this watch.
Hello Ivan, At first glance, I thought you had bought one of the totally overpriced watches for Squale's 60th Anniversary. They sold out very quickly at Gnomon. But on the second look, I recognized the clock. I myself do not have it with the 1545 watches. I prefer the 1521 and the 2002 much. Maybe that's because I do not like Rolex very much. Greetings René

Bezels have nothing to do with the dial, you can have ceramic or aluminium, or other material. When you say "both" which two watches do you actually mean? As to your other question "what is most likely to be a homage to the sub", apologies, I really don't understand what you're asking...
Davosa Ternos is a better watch and better value so is Steinhart and Marcello c nettuno.And more importantly they won’t tell you to piss off if you have a problem.squale will.

Also we're talking a Swiss made auto diver with ETA movement... which is pretty much impossible to get under $500. All respect to Phoibos and Tisell (the latter is over $400 to get now I think?), but they're not really the same level.

Horrific!!... The asymetric logo under the 12hr marker and then the same brandname again in the bottom half of the dial, not sure if it is trying to look like a fish or a smiley.... I’d consider this watch if they made it with a sterile dial.
Haha yeah, good thing this one didn't come with the "Invicta-esque" brand name emblazoned on the case side too! Squale been around for quite a long time, so I'm surprised this seems to be the first time you've come across their "style".

The newer maxi dial has larger indices (and hands), plus slight changes in print and spacing... best to do a google image search for a side by side.
