I’ve been wearing one of these on my wrist for the past two and a half weeks. I’ll share my first impressions. Very impressed with how it looks. I love the case design and the overall style of this watch. The domed sapphire crystal has a great internal anti-reflective coating that makes it easy to read even from an angle. Timekeeping is amazing averaging -1.4 seconds a day over the last 17.5 days I’ve been keeping data. There are a few things that just let me down a both through. The lume is good, but not great. There also appears to be a blemish on the steel where the crystal is fitted that’s visible from 10-11 position on the watch. It gives the appearance that’s there almost some dirt under the glass - even though I know that’s not true. The minute and hours have uneven finishing on one side of the minute and hour hand that sometimes catch the light in an unpleasant way. Looking like the edge of a piece of paper if I were to describe it. And lastly the watch crown appears to be ever so slightly off of a 90 degree attachment to the case. The watch is beautiful but the finishing is less than say my Seiko SARB 033/035. Which is unfortunate as this was my first watch purchase over $1000. Just felt like I would share my experience. The quality control isn’t perfect and while I got a top notch regulated movement, it seems a few small things were overlooked.
So, I'm back. Mine arrived on my birthday back in January. I was nervous as it was an expensive impulse buy. But I love it. The retro charm brings a smile every time I look at my wrist. It just feels right. I put a crafter blue rubber strap on it and it is awesome. The only niggle is the crown is sharp and I prefer my Tudor crown to this shape. I got #006/100 and it is my #1 watch.
Tgv I just ordered mine ... incredible watch . This will scratch two itches , ive been waiting to find just the right blue diver . Love this color . And what a great blancpain feel and they made the cases !!! Great brand, great history . Stunning watch!!
I have been a big Omega fan for years and have several of their Watch’s however since I accidentally came upon a RUclips video showing the 1545 GMT Red/Black ‘Coke’ Bezel I was struck by it and had to hunt one down, which I did. Prior to this I had not heard of Squale but looking into the Brand I soon realised that this was a serious Watch manufacturer with Heritage. Upon the arrival of my Coke GMT I was instantly blown away! Absolutely stunning, it hasn’t left my wrist except for sleep time. The more I dug into Squale on RUclips I soon discovered many more Beautiful versions of their Watches. Needless to say I’ve just bought a new Sub39 Blue whilst I still can as they are few and far between. That’s two new Squale’s in two months. My next purchase is the Sub39 black Arabic. Then a few other models i have my eye on. No other Brand has had me desiring so many Models of their watch’s as does Squale. Apart from their Beautiful designs and amazing quality they are also extremely great value for money with Movements found in watch’s 3 plus times onwards the cost! This combination is the reason why I feel the need to start a new Squale collection. Be warned they are addictive
This might be one of my absolute favorite videos that you my noble sir ever have made! You can genuinely feel your passion and enthusiasm. Brilliant picture.
I've recently purchased a Seiko 5 Sea Urchin. It's my first ever automatic dive-style watch (and my first Seiko). Absolutely loving it and I've gotta give you the credit. Never even took a second glance at a Seiko before. Your videos have reallyyy inspired me to study watches in more depth than ever before. Thanks a lot mate for all the effort!
What an amazingly awesome vintage diver. A throwback to when Squale were making cases for Blancpain. Can’t stop looking at mine and the rich history and tradition of the watchmaking, it’s astounding they are not on so many more wrists. This limited number of 150 makes the few who own a 60th anniversary 30 atmos very lucky indeed. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Still amazes me to this day that you are able to put so much information in one video. You have got to be the most thorough watch reviewer in the world.
Aquis is cool, but the case design isnt as intricate as the squale, and personally I cant bring myself to like the integrated lugs. Just my opinion though.
This watch is a keeper in my collection. So many fine details, such as the taper of the lower, satin portion of the bezel. I don't think I've ever seen that detail in any other watch.
If anyone is curious, I do believe that submarine he's in is the USS Becuna, a WW2 sub. Included with admission to the Independence Seaport Museum in Philly right along the Delaware River if anyone wants to go take a look themselves...
Just received my no-date from Long Island Watch. It is absolutely gorgeous, love it! Great customer focus too. I can confirm that the strap does NOT have the quick release spring bar, but not a big deal for me. The ETA 2824-2 movement has proved to be remarkably accurate so far. Still within a second of true time after 2 days!!!!!
Hello Urban Gentry. Just purchased the no date. I've sold off more than half my collection but am keeping the divers. Will add this to my Zodiac White Wolf, vintage Omega 120 no date, Rado limited edition, and Lorier. Cheers!!
Great review, yet again! Beautiful watches! Just goes to show not all great watches cost a fortune. No-date is absolutely perfect for me. Just ordered one.
I REALLY hope to see a lot more designs using this case in the future, similar to the way Squale has done so many variants of the 1521. Something with applied markers and maybe a color like that spectacular blue 60ATM Squalematic (WAY too big for my wrist, sadly) would be just about perfect.

Hi Tristano, I just ordered my TGV no date and I'm so excited as well. This is one of the most beautiful blue dials that I have seen. Thanks for the beautiful design work Tristano. I have recently retired and this is my retirement watch. I look forward to your forthcoming designs.

Hi Tristano, I'm loving my TGV 30Atmos watch. I think of it as a TGV designed more affordable Blancpain Bathyscaphe with a great Swiss ETA movement. Well done mate.
Hi Muhammad, I just received the watch today so not much wrist time. However, it is the perfect size for me and I love TGV's dial design and color choices. It's a stunningly beautiful watch Muhammad. With the ETA 2824-2 movement it's a great dive watch.
Are these still not sold out? I'm ready to pull the trigger on the no-date version, and the site seems to still have it... but just making sure (seems too good to be true lol).
Good evening TGV, great Intro, quite fitting for a Review of a divewatch. I like the fact, that Squale stick to divers. Great choice for this kind of watches. Have a great evening!

I congratulate you on your new watch creation! A really nice timepiece. I like the vintage touch and the reference to the explorer dial framed by a toolwatch character. Greetings Sebastian
Absolutely superb. The vintage styling cues are right up my street, excellent spec and I especially like that crown...it's a shame I'm not likely to get my hands on one.
This might be the best video I’ve seen from you. So much passion and so much job put into the details. Just the idea of filming in a submarine, I love it!

@@theurbangentry - It's on the way and since I am Windy City from Friday anyway I just ordered it to the hotel. So excited now, since this is the closest I can ever get to the FF grail which in most versions is too big for me to ever wear. I was close to getting the Baltic Aquascaphe but it just wasn't QUITE right. This is just fantastic, Swiss instant classic in a very limited edition, dressy, tool, high water resistance, my favorite blue sunburst, classic bezel and insert, even adore the sail cloth strap. I will treasure this a lot, thanks again!
Its a beauty - loving that dark blue sunburst dial. So much to like with this aesthetic. It’s going to keep everything else off your wrist for a while. 👍🏼
Looks like an early Blancpain, and that's OK if your looking for an homage watch and the price is right and I'm with you on ETA movements they run great and any good watch maker can fix them without cleaning out your bank account.
Just a tiny pedantic thing: "Bathyscaphe" is pronounced something like like "matha" (but with a 'b") and "scaff". Submarines designed specifically for diving to extreme depths. The bathyscaphe Trieste (Swiss-designed and Italian-built) was the first to descend over 10km to the deepest point on Earth, the Challenger Deep, in 1960. Awesome watch, that blue is fabulous.
Your English class sounds like pure class, Thank you Evan for sharing that, I am glad they are teaching you this classic, it some how makes me feel hopefully about the world. Onwards and upwards my friend! Best regards, TGV

Hi TGV I recently bought the date version of the sqaule 30atmos limited ed. and I am over the moon, easy my favorite watch in my collection today! So cool you did a collab with them for your one take on this unique watch! I will stay away from it since I want others to enjoy this beautiful watch as well :D
TGV, I been getting into watches in the last month or so. By now, I thought I discovered this watch a bit late. I contract a few dealers and ask if they going to bring this watch back in anytime soon. Any color, any edition, or something similar. Guess what, it must have been some kind of miracle because they said today (1 year later), we have the 002/100, NEW, are you interest? Obviously, I can't pass on that opportunity and I'm now the owner of the 002/100.
Awesome looking watch. Spot on! Congratulations 👏 Of all my watches, my son wants the blue, polished 1521 when he turns 18. I'm happy to wear it till then.😎
It really is a beautiful special edition! Congratulations! Too bad my budget isn't there after buying a recent watch, but I am sure buyers will love it. I missed this video over the holiday week, but came back to it after I saw the watch in a more recent video.
Well the intro on this one is definitely one of the best ones you have done, and that in itself says a lot, as you have never made a bad one 👍. Love the watch too, wish I could get my hands on one...

@@theurbangentry Ha, I was on the Squale site - didn't realize it was Island Watch exclusive. Thanks a lot! Have a wonderful day.
Thank you Robert, I totally agree with your latter point.
Best regards,
TGV
Should have kept it around 36 mm to maintain the vintage feel. Or at least two versions with different sizes.
Divers weren’t 36, usually around 38 in the sixties
Just a tiny pedantic thing: "Bathyscaphe" is pronounced something like like "matha" (but with a 'b") and "scaff". Submarines designed specifically for diving to extreme depths. The bathyscaphe Trieste (Swiss-designed and Italian-built) was the first to descend over 10km to the deepest point on Earth, the Challenger Deep, in 1960. Awesome watch, that blue is fabulous.
Absolutely, thank you so much!

TGV
Read that poem in the intro last week in english class. Didnt expect to find it here. Great video as always
Your English class sounds like pure class,
Thank you Evan for sharing that, I am glad they are teaching you this classic, it some how makes me feel hopefully about the world. Onwards and upwards my friend!
Best regards,

What is the title, very inspiring?
Crso “If” by Rudyard Kipling
How appropriate to include footage of the Squale dive watch in a submarine. A diver in a diver!

Wow TGV! Haven't seen a video in a little while. Beautiful into! Always love your watch reviews. Please keep up the incredible work!

Another TGV colab home run.. perhaps your best yet. Congrats!
Spot on!
Congratulations 👏
Of all my watches, my son wants the blue, polished 1521 when he turns 18.
I'm happy to wear it till then.😎
Beautiful watch! I've been looking into getting a Squale for a while now and they just keep impressing me. Great presentation as always TGV.
Great reviews. Great ideas. One of my favorite channels. What is your opinion on Christopher Ward C65 Automatic? Is it worth it? The vintage look is so great.
