After seeing LA Guns live twice, within their last two tours (around the time this was filmed), I pulled the trigger on the Headrush. It has made playing with my band so much more fun and simple to set up. Having the "set list" option is insanely awesome! And thanks to Tracii for loading some of his presets for us to download! Headrush has killed it!
Really cool to see a classic rocker who's into the new tech stuff and really knows his gear. Not some rock star who could not tweak his sound even if his life depended on it. Cool!
Man so genius using that volume pedal to clean things up vs trying to find that spot with the volume pot on the guitar in the heat of battle. Glad I watched this. Thanks for the content. Keep rocking Tracii!
Tracii no matter what you use bro, you rock. Always loved your playing since the first release. You guys sounds better than ever and that is because Tracii is straight and back! Take car bro, hope to catch you guys on stage soon. Take car my friend!
I was going to order a new amp but I'm going to get one of these for the clean channel of my EVH. This is everything I'm after in one package. I love these tones!
You can use this with your amp, but it is more specifically meant to use with a flat frequency speaker/monitor(Headrush makes one too) Guitar cabs and speakers are 'voiced' for a specific sound. While the HR has the option for you to use different simulated amps and speakers in the chain, so having a flat frequency speaker would accommodate that. Going back to your EVH, you can use this unit on your amp-- but you might not like the sound of the HR amp simulations in your chain. It is possible to put the HR in your efx loop and now you will be using the unit for the delays and modulations.. also the looper... but you might not enjoy using the od, distortion and comp pedals from the HR. I know it has been a few months since your comment, so I don't know if you bought one already... but hey, I'm sure you're enjoying your Headrush! Cheers!
I recently bought this pedalboard, absolutely love it! I have it running through a Boss Katana (1st gen). I recommend running the pedalboard through the FX send/return line regardless the amp. I get some pretty cool and interesting sounds running both OD on the pedalboard and my amp, doesn’t sound horrible.
aunt jenifer maybe so. My setup is the average bedroom/guest room rig setup. When I upgrade to a bigger space, a cab and capable amp will compliment the pedalboard. For now, I’m quite happy with my current rig and it’s sound.
I just saw Tracii and the boys at the Whisky with my dad a few weeks ago. Holy. Shit. It topped all of my other concerts I’ve seen. They’ve still got it and more..
I just ordered a Headrush. I used to own an 11R and always loved the tone from it and how easy it was to get a decent sound. Line 6 never was that easy and always had fizz to fight with. I'm hoping the firmware updates keep coming and they add an Octavia ;)
DickBurns I’m jealous! I’m saving for one now... it’s really the only thing on my current wish list. Then I’m sure I’ll want a guitar worthy of it! Until then I’ll wallow in Vetta-ville (it could be worse!)... so, how’s it going (I assume you’ve got it and had plenty of time to mess about with it...)?
This legend makes the most marketed guitarist Saul Hudson look like an amateur. Tracii is a genuinely talented guitarist, fate had him make the wrong call as he would have been massive if he went with GnR instead of staying with LA Guns. He is a staggeringly brilliant guitarist. And nice bloke too.
Slash is overrated. I would agree but unfortunately there were allot of guys with Les Paul rocking at that time, Tracii unfortunately couldn't step out of his shadow or make a hit songs.
I wish he would have shown his patch for Killing Machine. But other than that, I'm getting really sold on Headrush. Love Tracii, one of my top 10 favorite guitarists of all time. Always loved his tones
These are a SICK piece of gear. None of these guys are lugging amps anymore, they get on a plane with a floor modeler and their guitar. Love my tube amps, but the versatility and capabilities of these type of units is insane.
Love Tracii. He makes this sound great. Question: is there a way to punch in solos with a slight volume boost? Example, could I put a boost pedal after the amp so I can simply and quickly click a toggle for a solo volume boost?
Just got the pedalboard! Love it! Please keep updating it guys! Tuner improvement, ability to run preamp only for running with power amp/guitar cab, improvement in the 5150 crunch low end being non existent, ability to control so parameters from the big left scroll wheel in case one of the side 3 go bad, 3 side knobs less sensitive or add adjustable sensitivity,
Man I wish I could get my hands on the headrush. I love it. Looking to upgarde and get one with the the frfr112 speaker. Sucks with this whole covid thing putting me out of work I cant afford it now. Oh well. Maybe next year.
Very sorry to hear of your situation Brian. It is a very tough time for the music industry and everyone involved in it. We are hoping that this time period passes and everyone can stay safe and healthy. Then maybe the world can get back to a somewhat normal state.
l3ertuz Simple: just use the Main outs (L/R) to FOH, route the 1/4 mono into either the front of your amp (on the cleanest most neutral setting you can get) or some folks feed right into the return of the FX loop allowing you to bypass the preamp of your amp... but you must remember the volume will be controlled by the Headrush at that point (or whatever you pop into the loop). You could also run the four cable method if it’s a small venue and you don’t absolutely need to go through the PA. OR if you don’t care about the amp just go purely into the PA but you’ll probably want decent in ear monitors or something to hear yourself...
I'm looking seriously at purchasing the Headrush - its a huge turn for me to give up my amps but the tones im hearing are pretty convincing. Especially this demo and the ones from Marco. Quick question im having trouble finding a straight answer on... can this go directly into a pa without Di boxes?
iMatagora. Yep. Balanced out. Selling my GT100 and my orange gear and packing just this to shows. The ability add in IRs is great. Can't do that with my GT100
6 months since purchase. Love it! I go directly into p.a. so far just using left mono. I have 3 go to settings but will be experimenting and hopefully posting some vids soon. Thanks Tracii! Thanks Headrush!
Depending on the show sometimes just uses the HeadRush out to the house and FRFR-112, or with a wall of amps through the FX loops, or amps via fx loop and also going out to FOH to monitors. The combinations can be really fun!
@@HeadRushFX Hey say for example at my practice space there is a Marshall DSL100 Half Stack, if I was to use a Headrush pedalboard for all my tones and wanted to just utilize the poweramp and the cab how would I plug it in? Not too concerned about stereo at this time.
@@eds.productions I have the same setup and I use the 4 cable method with my Marshall Dsl100hr. My rigs are different then most but I obviously don't use the amp and cab models in the HR...tried it...way too much signal and a lot of feedback haha. It takes a while to dial in the right live tone but once I nailed it, its AMAZING. hope this helps.
Only question I have is....do you run the signal directly into the PA or, I’ve heard you run into the power section of you JCM800’s onstage and mic their cabs. Or, is it somehow a mix of both live mic’d cabs and cab simulation running direct? Killer sound!
Tracii runs different setup based on the venue. Small venues he rocks just the HeadRush, medium he does a hybrid type of setup of amp/cabs and headrush, and for large venues he rocks amp/cabs, headrush and frfr cabs and mics it all and send direct lines to the house.
1st let me say I've owned and used one since the came out. This pedal board has one big flaw. It is a touch screen that sits on the floor. I like the touch screen but wish I could have the pedals and wah on the floor and the controller on a stand or desk if in studio. While other companies don't have the touch screen they do offer remotes on ipads or tablets. HeadRush needs to come up with a remote soon.
Fair and honest feedback, thank you. We developed our touch screen and interface to be so easy to use that you don't need an app or another third party device to edit and control the HeadRush Pedalboard. We also implemented the hands-free editing also to make this easier. Do you know about the hands-free editing feature?
I agree that one doesn't have to have a 3rd party device but being able to use a 3rd party device would prevent one from having to take a knee or squat to adjust settings. The hands free editing might have its place, as long as one can still see the screen while standing, but given the choice of using my feet or squatting I put mine on the shelf and went with something that allowed me to edit my rigs without squatting or giving up wah peddal function. Maybe you should have made this thing in 2 parts. 1: the peddal board and 2: the touch editor. I really like the headrush but while the editor is touch screen and very nice and easy to use it is still on floor. Maybe you could create a remote app to work with it then it's win win.... or did you not include blu tooth.
A Fox. I get where you're coming from but to me I'm already at home alone with this thing on a chair or small table dialing it in. When I'm at rehearsal or a gig I'm not touching the screen. I'm dialed in and playing. If I need to tweak that's at home not on stage.
Best Product IMO. this set up is my go too live! All my amps and stacks sit in my studio now and this is all I take to a Live show! Keep up the good work Headrush!!

The name of the song at 1:50 ??
I don’t know if you’re still curious or not, but it sounds One Way Ticket by L.A. Guns from their debut. Or maybe Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down?
