The smile at the 5:52 mark is why we all should be playing music. Does not matter what gear. That happiness is what we should all be after. Mike, love the channel. Much needed. Stay true to yourself. Keep doing what you love.
Been using the Original Headrush for years and love it. The community was a bit small, so you are a bit on your own in terms of tones. HRP seems to be received really well so I think that won’t be an issue.
I'm using an mx5, much cheaper than expanding my old pedalboard or lugging around my combo amp. Sounds great, and gives me tonnes of features I wouldn't have with a traditional setup (consistent tones, USB for recording, different amps and cabs literally at my feet).
And my dad have played the first Headrush pedal board and have been looking for what it was for YEARS! As soon as I saw this I remembered! I know what I’m getting him for Christmas this year
Got the Prime the day the released it and I love it. I currently use it in a rock cover band and a country band. Have not gigged with an amp for years! I am currently running a Dr Z clone from Greg Barth at Sonic DNA (HIGHLY RECOMMEND his rigs/IR's) and I could not be happier. I used the pedalboard for about 3 years with no issues gigging almost every weekend. I loaded all my pedalboard rigs into the Prime and they all had more clarity and personality. I don't think there is a better "all in One" board on the market.
Ok. I'm a HELIX LT and ToneX user. I've always wanted to hear other options. I probebly wont switch but I've heard great things about the Headrush. I also think its funny that many HELIX and amp modeler users will purchase a Headrush FRFR cabinet/floor monitors to use. Hahaha. Anyway, I know I've already rambled on way too much. Mike, I like your content. Keep it coming mate.
This unit but the size of the stomp xl, if they can manage to pull that off with the singer feature, and 6-8 buttons instead of 4 like the gigaboard, I think they would overtake the market. Great video.
I got the Headrush Mx5- played a few gigs with it and had a lot of compliments for my tone! Last gig the sound man liked it so much he said he was going to buy one- after seeing what the prime can do I may need to pick it up!!
Haven't tried the big floor units, but from what I've heard, they're pretty impressive. If they were available when I started gigging, I probably would have gotten one.
How does it do playing live? I’m thinking of getting one because dealing with tube amps is just getting a little restless for me and as much as I love them, they are very sensitive. Yesterday I had an outside gig and it was my last straw dealing with them
@@TheShaq44 it does a really good job ....very stable sounds...and you can pick the pedals you want so many!!.i pick five sounds for my set list for Catholic worship Mass ... I use the MX5 when i m alone sing and play because the piano player i play with doesn t like when i use effects pedals.... MX5 creates alot of space for me when i m playing alone at other gigs ( one man band)
I NEED to see how this does with their vocal harmonizer and looper. This thing could be an all in one for solo artists and I'm kinda chomping at the bit to try it out!
I've been into digital modellers since way back. I've owned a Boss GT-8 and a Line 6 Pod HD Pro. And, well, I spent more time tweaking tone than playing. Option paralysis, I guess. But then in early 2021, I decided to build a pedalboard, and I haven't looked back since! I have a great couple of core tones, but I also gave a lot of versatility, I can put a lot of colour in there. I've never played more than I do now. If I had done this ten years earlier, who knows where I would have been by now, musically speaking.
I was Mr. Analog for the longest time until my pedalboard failed at an outdoor gig. I had previously purchased a used HD500X for an insanely low price, but didn’t take the time to learn it. After the pedalboard incident, I dived in and further got a Variax to go with it. Finally, I upgraded to a Helix floor and won’t ever go back.
I prefer the helix but floorboard systems are amazing for live shows. So much more reliable and they almost always sound better through the PA using custom IRs. It’s the control you have, the consistency, and the lower stage volume that really sell it. Even if you’re an old fashion guy. You can still use a monitor for feedback or a real cab with a power amp for a stage sound. All that and your whole rig fits in a backpack.
The last multi-effects/floorboard unit I used was the Line 6 Floor Pod Plus. That's like 9 years ago. I never really liked the sound of it. So I went analog. Now I think I'm ready to try again. With all the tech that has been coming out, it's definitely worth trying now.
the line 6s notoriously has/had kinda bad Cabinet simulations, but modelling now especially Cab sims are wayy better now. totally recommend going that route
@@pipespeeps5349 when the Headrush Prime came out I was like I definitely want to have one but I can't get over the fact that the Helix Floor/LT has way better flexibility in terms of choices of sound and tones.😅

Not sure if it's the touch screen UI or the amp/effects tones, but I've noticed I'm playing guitar more and tweeking less which is great :)
Hello Mike. I don't use mine for Rock or Metal but did while I was depping a few years ago when I purchased the original pedalboard back in 2018. Had my prime for over a month and create Ambient and Guitar Synth patches on mine. Enjoy Mike. Best wishes from the UK 🎶🎶🎶🎶😎😎😎😎

Thanks for the video Mike. No one ever shows the full set up when they demo these. How are you listening to the sound in the room? If you buy one of these do you then need to go and purchase fancy studio monitors? What's the deal? Thanks again for all you content, love the Silver Sky.
Generally if you're a bedroom player with a decent pair of headphones or studio monitors, you're good to use those... Or you can get an FRFR speaker for amp-like volume. For band stuff you can run it straight through a PA as well.
It’s all software with a tiny and cheap processor. It’s amazing what they can do, but I am hoping for a open source moment where everything go digital, can talk to each other over network/wifi and were all the effects and channels are only limited by the processing power. As an example the kemper at 2000$ use a 10$ processor, your phone is 100X more powerful. So we are sold a bunch of boxes with connectors, but the PC moment has yet to arrive.
Can you load a loop you previously saved by using the foot switches or do you need to bend down and use you finger on the screen. I want to load saved loops during a show without crouching down each time. Can't find any info on that in the manual or videos so far. Thanks

Yeah, the latency issues were all fixed with firmware update 3.1.1.
I love this channel. I just discovered it. I love your playing. The drums in your intro song were nice. What do you use for the drum sounds and do you program them?
In todays modeling world anyone of the modeling such as helix, Kemper, HeadRush, fractal etc … will do, it’s just a matter of work flow..
I want one so bad!
Did run in stereo??
What plug-ins did you use for those drums? I’m looking for different plugins and I really liked that one… also, just played a helix for the first time literally last night at a church event I was playing electric at (I usually just use an amp sim on my board) and bruh it changed my whole perspective
Nice house. I wish I had a house.
