How to: Permanently Fix value of '0' is not valid for emSize and Fix Access to the path is denied

If you've encountered the message "Value of '0' is not valid for 'emSize'. 'emSize' should be greater than 0 and less than or equal to System.Single.MaxValue. Parameter: emSize.", or have been denied access to the path "C:\Programdata\vmix\video.txt", then this tutorial is for you.

1) Add the following lines to your hosts file:
127.0.1 2637.vmix.xom
127.0.1 vmixcloud.com
127.0.1 vmix.com
127.0.1 vmix.com.au
127.0.1 www.vmix.com
2)If vmix keeps closing, it means it has most likely reached home server. There ar two options for limiting it:
add a firewall restriction to the remote adress 34.125.147.72
OR
add lines to host - see above (They are all behind the same address)
Both methods should work, The first is convenient, Since you can still access the site with a regular browser.
The second - vMix will not get access to the server, even if proxy is turned on.
3) The problem itself can be corrected by returning the correct parameter in the registry:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\IDENTITY]
OR
You can delete the whole HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\IDENTITY branch.
4) You can delete C:\ProgramData\vMix\status.txt (The content of the file is currently not checked)

I recently did a setup for a church and installed Vmix.
I've added to the host file, I've configured inbound and outbound firewall and I've deleted the folder in the studiocast folder.
But yet still, anytime I test opening Vmix with the Internet on it gives me the same error.
The problem only surfaces once the Internet is on whilst launching.
But for my own Vmix on my PC I don't have this problem, for me whether i'm connected to the Internet or not it works very fine.
you probably didn't do the settings well on the other laptop...
Thank you for the video, its so helpful. I have little challenge in replacing the "host". I copied the file to desktop in other to replace the file, but instead of the file replacement it prompt saying " This file is set to read-only, try again with a different file name" please what is the way out
Probably you changed the type of file you wanted to replace , confirm iif it's the same format
It appears that when all connections are blocked, I am unable to use NDI on vMix. Is there any way to address this issue? thanks!
Really sorry about that but right now, that is one setback for this I also noticed.
The steps we did blocked connection to vMix that connection included NDI
I really hope a new version can come on time.

Bro my NDI is not working at all, trying to get feed from easy worship. Was working before with vmix v24 but nothing now on ndi.

That's one setback of blocking the outbound and inbound rules in vMix.... NDI won't work
You can disable the rules and make sure you don't have the internet connected before opening vMix, it's after opening vMix you can connect to the internet

When you delete the files and fix the error, make sure that when you want to open vMix, you are not connected to the internet then it won't happen again

Good one, what version of vmix are you using? And I've tried this on v26 but no luck. But version 24 work.
I use v26 and it worked....
