  • Discover The First Qi Gong Exercise Master Qi Gong Teacher Lee Holden Ever Learned
Recently, someone asked Master Qi Gong Teacher Lee Holden this question:
“What is the first Qi Gong exercise you ever learned?”
Lee had to dig deep into his “memory archives” to remember what the exercise was. The memory includes a wild story about how LONG he did the exercise for. Lee shares the story in the video.
The first exercise Qi Gong Teacher Lee Holden ever learned is called “Embracing the Tree.”
Embracing The Tree helps lengthen your spine, ground into the earth, and align your Qi (energy) with the Qi around you. It’s a great exercise for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students.
Lee Holden learned the Embracing the Tree exercise in his first-ever workshop with Master Qi Gong Teacher Mantak Chia.
Embracing The Tree became the foundation of Master Qi Gong Teacher Lee Holden’s practice. He continues to teach it to thousands of students to this day.
In this 5-minute video, Master Qi Gong Teacher Lee Holden shares the first exercise he ever learned…… and tells the wild story behind it.

This took me back to 1970 when I first ran into QiGong and Tai chi Chuan, I had read that a coniferous pine tree radiated energy that could be acquired so I decided to experiment with both the posture without and with a tree so I could see if there was any difference for a period of 25 minutes each, in a nearby forest preserve. By integrating visualization meditation and breathing techniques the experiment created a profound experience and convinced me to deepen my knowledge in bio-energy (Chi/Qi/Ki) and even now the journey continues deeper into understanding the mind-body dynamic. It also taught me to start small and expand outward from that point. What a Deja Vu moment this was. Thanks for posting this.

I know this is 3 years old but you have ever tried to use your Chi/Qi/Ki to manipulate other energy? Like Aerokinesis or any other Psychokinetic abilities?

I connected with embracing the tree today! 1987 is a special year for me, I learned to seriously meditate and changed my life. I met so many incredible people in the next few years among them was Mantak Chia. He is such a down to earth man and his wife, also. I took his workshop at the school where I was studying Tai Chi. I've been interested in visiting his Dark Room in Thailand. Have you
stayed there? Total darkness for 5 days? Enjoying your channel very much. I'm 69 yrs , yes these days of isolation lend themselves to practicing! Thanks Everyone for sharing.

Thank you!!! Love the story!! I will try this today. I feel I have a lot of “stagnation” in my energy. Lately with all the covid stress in daily life and work (I’m a nurse) my nerves tingle at times and my four extremities feel weak though they aren’t. I have fibromyalgia so this is common but to me all illness (some injury) is energy based...emotional mental spiritual. I’m new to this but hoping to learn more!! ❤️

Very timely! I will be remembering this one - I have a congenital twist in my spine and sometimes, despite all my efforts to relax the area with yoga and other stretching, I still have tension in my lower back, shoulders, and neck. Like I woke up with this morning, and that always puts me into a bad mood.

Do you have a QiGong protocol for strengthening the Vagus Nerve ? I am a Qigong newbie but loving it. Thank you for all of your teachings. You have such a relaxing and easy to understand way about you🙏.

I'm guessing that all of Qigong, if the inward meditative aspects are focused upon, will strengthen the vagus nerve by placing us in rest and relaxation more and more completely and often. But it will be interesting to see what Lee Holden responds! It's a great question.
