  • In this video we explore the new Britannia series of gold, silver and platinum coins. Compare them to other modern bullion and show four different security features on these coins and finally ask if they are worth buying. Thanks for watching!
I stack silver and gold to hedge against our debt-fueled, fiat currency-based economy that I am convinced is in severe trouble. Consider stacking silver and gold yourself to help you build and preserve wealth. And thank you for watching Campbell’s Coins!

But for strictly stacking by weight, the Maple and others have lesser premium over spot. So technically, if you're vaulting bullion it doesn't matter unless you are targeting collectors for future resale.

I started collecting 1/4 oz Britannia gold in 2021, primarily due to the great design, lower premiums, and the fact the security features are carried into their fractional pieces. My secondary pick when 1/4 oz Brits are unavailable is the 1/4 oz Maple. Will not accept less than spot if I were to sell. Will pick up a couple of 1 ounce pieces in the future to save on premiums.

So I was aware of everything you stated in this video. But why is it that after you explain something it just makes more sense? I mean I’m feeling like an idiot because I don’t have a 1 oz. Britannia in my stack now. Lol. Seriously though, you know how I feel about “Her Ugly Muglness,” but the reverse is a stunner! And perhaps those security features will drive up the demand once more stackers catch on. As for the U.S. Mint, they simply don’t care. And we still keep buying their products. I’m guilty as well! 🤷‍♂️😬 You may have sold me. Britannia will likely be my next purchase. Only drawback, like you said, is that resale liquidity. Amazing video bro.

@@CampbellsCoins My design favorites as gold bullion coins are the Philharmonics (biggest 1 ounce coins available), the Britannias and - unfortunately I don't have any as my own, should change in the future - the Buffalo. But you have to pay about 50-70 Euros extra premium per ounce to get one here...

i don't like the queen design on the Britannias. I don't mind the queen on Australian, Canadian, or New Zealand coins, but on the Britannias she looks the worst. That is one reason I avoid them. I do like the front of the coin well enough with Britannia on the waves with trident and security features. That side of the coin has a nice look indeed.

It’s kind of dull here in the UK - the Britannias are so clearly the obvious buy. Cheapest, most secure, most liquid (domestically) and exempt from capital gains tax. It’d be nice to vary things up with a Buffalo or Maple Leaf - but you’d be paying more for something with fewer advantages.

Pre 33 isn't in one ounce form. The $20 coins have less than an ounce of gold in them. Any common date St. Gaudens or Liberty double eagle will be less expensive compared to the rest.

I’m new to collecting gold coins but I do have some ASE. I thought it would be a good idea to buy both the king and queen (1 oz gold Britannia) on this years coin because it’s never happened before where two monarchs occupy the Britannia. Anyone think this year coin will be more valuable because of this?
Btw I ordered the coins from APMEX recently and while it was pricey, they really are beautiful in person and love that they have all those security features! I want to buy 1oz gold eagle but not sure cause it’s only 22K and doesn’t have many security features…but as I live in US I would like to own gold coin that is very liquid and even get more than spot for them.

Hi! I'm from Philippines and I just started stacking gold in 1/10 oz types. I just purchased a 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf and it comes with a coin capsule. However, the coin rattles a little bit inside the capsule and I am concerned that the coin might get dented because of the rattle and given that it is 9999 gold and it's very soft. Should I be worried with the rattle or just let it be? I'm hoping for your advice about this as I am new to this hobby 😄
