Hey guys, in this video we will show you how to remove and replace the headlight bulb and front turn signal light bulb on Mercedes W163 which is the ML Class from 1998 to 2005.
The facelift models after 2002 have a little different headlight compared to the prefacelift models. The procedure might differ some but should be close. We demonstrated on a 2003 Mercedes ML320.

This is very helpful. 2001 ML320. First time I replaced a bulb, I didn't remove the headlamp assembly and just went from behind and it was kind of a pain. Not horrible, but this method is SO much easier, even with the couple of extra steps. Thank you!

The '01 ML320 assembly was a little different. After removing the large plastic back cover, there was a metal "Pinch Clip" to remove to get to the bulb. No twisting required. There's a little notch in the bulb backplate to ensure it is in place. Very straightforward.

Very straight forward and clear. Try it out in preparation for upgrading my bulbs. Took only a few minutes to remove the assembly. My additional recommendation. Lay a trowel on the bumper to protect the lens when changing the bulbs.

If Pepco charged $53, then the Mercedes guy would charge 5X that much. So I supposed you saved me $250. Instructions were clear, easy to understand and follow. Great satisfaction to do it myself :)

Thank you sir! Couldn't be any easier to swap the bulbs out this way on my 2003 ML500. I will say that the high beams are pretty easy to get to on my model, so I'm not sure I'd bother with the removal for those. But, the blinkers and low beams are well buried in there. "😂

Thank you guys. The handbook for my wife's 2002 ML500 was totally misleading as to the manner of removal of the lighting plug, and then removal of the bulb. It referred to an entirely different 'spring loaded' system supposedly holding the bulb in place. 10/10 for you, 0/10 for Mercedes!

2000 ML430, is not like this. It has a 'spring' clip that you must release that hold the H7 Bulb in place. H7 for Low Beam (has 2 wires and is on the top of the assembly, be careful with the electrical connector. H1 for High Beam (has 1 wire and is on the bottom of the assembly, be careful with the electrical connector.) While the headlamp assembly is out of the car, it might be a good time to sand and clear coat the dull, yellowed, face. :P

Hello, I have a 2003 Mercedes ML350 and usually in the mornings when I start the vehicle the High beams (Fernlicht) automatically shut on and off randomly. I can not turn them off unless I completely turn off the lights. I also hear clicks by the passenger side fuse panel. Where do I start to troubleshoot?
