    What's the best brand for resin pools? Also why not talk about the aluminum wall pools?

    Blue Wave Rugged Steel 12-ft x 12-ft x 48-in Round Above-Ground Pool is that a good pool, it says it’s all steel and it comes with the salt pump system so that’s not good at all?

    I realise this is from 2014 so we are 6 years onwards. I have seen many pools from many brands showing signs of rust. I have also noticed that some brands claim to have enhanced their systems and it seems protection against corrosion like rust has been better. Well: that is the claim. To the point: is an Intex XTR considered hybrid, a reisin or soemthing else. My sis has a 2017 Intex pool with a saltwater system. Inspite of our winters with frost and ice it has remained above ground and filled for those years. I do not think I saw any rust inspite of the saltwatersytem. I might be wrong though (may be the slatwater was just in place in 2019 for instance) Do you know if the current intex Ultra XTR (18FT x 52" or 5.49m x 1.32 m round) is fine with a saltwater system. because of Corona round pools are now the only ones available. Everyone seems to have bought these above ground pools because this summer it will be hot again (global warming since 1990 has serioulsy warmed up our summers and our records have been smashed to pieces). Sosince we can't go to our usual resorts in Portugal. Spain, Italy and Greece we now need to have something and that something as it turns out is an above ground pool...Thanks for you reply and thansk for the excellent videos I found on line. May be it is time for an update though??

    Hi Chad, Alana here. So I have a $4000 budget being a single mom I’d like to ask your advice on a used steel frame pool 15x25 and I’d have to sink it in the ground at least 3 feet as I have a disabled son . They say it’s 2 years old and they are getting an inground pool put in, I know from watching your videos I’d have to buy a new liner, but I’d be been seeing videos talking about rust? There only asking $500 and the pool company wants $3000 to dig it in and install the pool ?

    I have been trying to find a video that shows what needs to go along with an above ground pool when purchasing. I have been looking on line for a starter guide and have had no luck so far. seriously, a to z... pump, filter,covers, chemicals..ect. Buying a pool on line is proving to be very difficult.

    Im looking at a galaxy pool package says it has a 60 year warranty resin pool. For up in Canada with winters of -40c. Do you no if these are high quality pools. They seem well priced. Or steel a better chance of no problems.

    Any tip on how to bond a full resin AGP with salt system on area where there require the 4 point of contact and water bond. I seen the using the bond plug where the wall get screw together to bond the wall, but that only one contact, not sure if the inspector will accept that only.

    • @abovegroundpros
      @abovegroundpros  7 лет назад

      +Juan Rodriguez that's the only contact you will have if the rest of the pool is resin.

    So, how do you know you are buying a quality pool? Obviously cheap pools are probably cheap made but I'm finding such a huge price range that I'm having difficulty deciding how expensive we need to go to get a quality pool that will last without going overboard.

    • @abovegroundpros
      @abovegroundpros  9 лет назад +1

      Andrea Husk That's a tricky question without doing some research. Normally the higher the warranty will signify the amount of rust protection and quality of the pool itself. That's a good starting point, then checking out the manufacturer is the next step.

    If there is less salt in a salt water pool than in a tear why would it be more corrosive than chlorine when just chlorine vapors will rust through 24 gauge steel in a couple weeks

    What is considered a very cold climate?

    • @abovegroundpros
      @abovegroundpros  8 лет назад +2

      +Danny Lemarr Wherever you would have very harsh, cold winters.

    • @Serenoj69
      @Serenoj69 4 года назад

      I find that to be relative too. I live in The Netherlands. With all this global warming going on (big time) our winters have become a lot less harsh. We used to have (prolonged) periods with snow and ice and even some months where the temperature never got above freezing (extremely rare). However, we still have winters where tempertures can drop to -20 - 25 C. Just the odd night once in 5-10 years but still? To me, a very cold climate in winter is mostly Siberia, parts of Lapland and parts of Canada and the USA (Alaska, Dakota's, Minnesota, Maine). I think I live in a mild climate but our rainwatertanks used to freeze up completely and crack so....etetc?

    • @mikeschiavoni5973
      @mikeschiavoni5973 4 года назад

      Intex is good for smaller temp pools. I liked my 10 x 16 oval. It gets ugly after 2 seasons but will hold water for 4. Depends on how funk of a pool your willing to deal with.

    Are there any above ground pools that don’t require a GFCI hookup? Put another way, we have an outdoor plug right as you are walking out from the basement but not close to area that could easily place the pool structure, size-wise and conveniently off from the deck.

    • @abovegroundpros
      @abovegroundpros  5 лет назад

      Any Electric outlet that's near a body of water has to be grounded.

    • @rhdtv2002
      @rhdtv2002 4 года назад

      Also you can buy gfci adapters that you plug the system into the gfci adapter or gfci power strip that then plugs into a no gfci outlet
