    Another great informative video. This is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. When you radio show you how to install a pool but they don’t go into depth regarding how much space you will actually need to fit the pool thank you for this gives me a lot to think about. Another reason why I will hire someone to install my pool and not go at it on my own

    I have an Intex 549 x 132 for the simple reaosn nothing else was available that came close to my "needs".Sinced my garden is on a slope I had to raise a part of the ground by 20 cm on one side and have built a wall around it in order to prevent the sand from washing out. That part has a diamtre of 610 cm or about 2 feet leaving 1 foot on each side. When I look at the data from Intex it is the outside perimetre it is 549, not the inside. Also, since this video is from 2014 and still very informative as per usual, this seems to have changed. Whether 30 cm extra space is enough remains to be seen but it seems some thing may have changed a little or the data is simply incorrect....and I have a small problem (i still have an extra 60 cm outside the perimetre on all sides so with some extra work we'll manage everstill).

    Thanks for the video, in Florida are there any regulations as to how close maximum a pool can be to a home? I.e. can I build 5ft from the house wall or is there a minimum distance?

      Youd have to check with the local building department

    Can I reuse an oval pool's bracing such as the underground metal guides and pedestals for relocating it to move it and install it at a new home? Will I need to buy new hardware to put the pieces back together or is this even worth it? Thanks!!

      We take down and move over pools quite a bit so if everything's in good shape you should be fine keeping the side braces when you reinstall it.

      Maybe a little depending on what model pull you go with but probably not much

    Hello I have a 15x24 oval with 4 legs on sides ,not 3,how should I measure mines?thanks

    • @rickpaul4216
      @rickpaul4216 3 года назад

      Measure the overall 24' length at the center line of where you want the pool. Draw a line or pull a straight string. Measure back along the string 7'-6" from both ends. Drive stakes at those points. Take a 7'-6" string, and draw two circles. Join the two circles with straight lines.

    Damn so I won't even fit a 12x24 in my yard with only having 15 feet of width to spare. 😂

    I respectfully disagree. The method for marking an oval pool is incorrect. It works for the 16' x 32' pool example you gave, but It does not work for other sizes because they are proportionately different. For instance, using your method for an 18' x 33' pool, I cut the width in half and I calculate a 9' radius at the ends. So far so good. The next step is for the rectangular portion of the pool In your method, you say to cut the overall length dimension in half and place the stakes at those points, then drawing the radii. If I do that on an 18' x 33' pool and add up the dimensions I get: 9' + 16'-6"+ 9' = 34'-6. This is 1'-6" too long. The right answer is 33' - 9' - 9' = 15' 15' is the length of the center section of the pool. The right way is to mark the overall length of the pool. Subtract 1/2 of the width and mark that spot inside going from the ends of the original overall length marks, draw the circles and then join them. The whole "Inner half" part of your explanation is confusing and incorrect. The method I outlined works for any size pool. For a 15'x 24' pool, your method is even worse. 7.5'(half width) + 12' (half length) + 7.5' (half width) = 28'. That's 4' too long. You need to fix this.
