"Flying high" is one of my favorite deep cuts. I don't know why it isn't more popular - I think it's a fantastic modern take on the classic rock style.
It sounds so pristine on the album following the lesser well recorded/mastered The Dragon Cries. I do like that song but it doesn't shine quite like the rest of the Conqueror album.
For me, "Conqueror" was experimental with vocals. "Unseen World" was experimental with instrumental tone. The new album, "Epic Narratives," puts it all together in a fabulous way.
This has always been an underrated one to me. I love the songs that have a lot of layered vocals from Saiki and Miku both. The Shout part is a fun change of pace too.
I agree. I love the shout part. I really like it when both Saiki and especially Miku experiment with their vocal parts. Manners wouldn't be the same song without Miku's descending na's and shouts.
Hey Chase, I hope you are having a great day! The "Conqueror" album was released in late 2019 about 3 to 4 months before Covid hit, so they never were able to really tour to promote the album. They released the album "Unseen World" in early 2021, but Japan was still in a really serious lockdown state, so they did a few online livestreams to make up for not being able to tour. They still haven't announced any concerts outside of Japan yet but have been hinting that they will be making an announcement around the holidays, and I'm hoping for a world tour to begin in early 2025. Take care and I hope you have an awesome week.
Probably the album I play more often than any other. The band has been going for 11 years and just keep evolving. I was worried when they hit ten years they would do the Japanese thing and go on Hiatus. But they are having none of it and as their new album makes clear. The bridge for the past to the future only look to be growing. Yes a great song but then that is what Band Maid do.
Chase, this a great song off of a fantastic album that has a lot a great songs. Their discography displays their growth with each song and album. Just love it. Thanks Chase.
Thank you for pulling this one out of the archives! "Conqueror" has always felt like a transitional album to me, and I think it often gets overlooked as a result, but it has some of my favorite Band-Maid songs on it. If you want something quite a bit different, you can check out "Page," which is the opening song on this album.
Hi Chase! The band started in 2013, this is from 2019. It's a great live track too! They have over 120 songs, so I would think you haven't heard most of them! Their catalogue is deep!
My favorite song on this album, not that I dislike any of the other songs :). Thanks for sharing your reaction to this awesome song... looking forward to the next one.
So glad you finally found this! When asked I will readily reply that BM is the finest rock band on the planet. As as example I will pick Flying High to demonstrate how effectively each voice, instrument and beat serves to make your 'basic rock song' into something new and stunning... just like you always hoped rock would be.
Absolutely love this song. Conqueror is my favourite of their albums. It was one of the first CDs I imported from Japan, in December 2019, and I remember listening to it non-stop on my commute until the pandemic and lockdown kicked off.
Such a good song! Glad that you enjoyed it. This is from the Conquer album. It was released after World Domination, but it didn't make all that big of an impact at the time.
Not sure which came first, this or The Dragon Cries, but I feel they have the same base with a BAND-MAID interpretation on this and the Tony Visconti interpretation on The Dragon Cries.
According to the band, this song was inspired by what they did with Tony on TDC... they took some of the recording studio tricks he showed them and then made their own song from that. Personally, I find this one better than TDC in every way.
A magnificent deep cut off what I think, imho, is Band-Maid's most complete album, Conqueror. But, of course, all of their albums kick progressive hard rock butt, and none more so than my absolute favourite, Just Bring It (the best hard rock album since Appetite for Destruction, again imho). Loved your reaction. New sub. I'll finally (after being a Maidiac for 4.5 years) be seeing the Maids live in Haneda, both the Zepp shows. I can't begin to express how excited I am!
Never posted on your channel but you and Nitt Picc are my favorite reactors. Your enthusiasm and musical knowledge are like smart bombs going off with your reaction to Band Maid songs. They have a new album out which is great. If you are wanting to do a deep dive “Clang” is in the vein of Flying High same feel that makes you want drive your car fast and “Akward” live is a mid-tempo song that builds in intensity which is hauntingly beautiful. Thanks again for the reaction and when You have the time I would love to see some more Band Maid reactions have a good week with the Mrs.
This would be from Conqueror released in late 2019 (first BM full album was New Beginning in late 2015). A good reference to compare Forbidden Tale from the latest album Epic Narrative, that is an epic musical journey.
Commenting this till it happens 😭 You need to react to ‘Odyssey To The West’ by Slice The Cake. It’s a prog metal album and perhaps one of if not the best album of its genre ever. You most likely can’t do the whole album so I strongly recommend Stone and Silver, Pt 1 or Westward Bound, Pt 1. The vocals are heaven and the lyrics are absolutely poetic. Love everything you do and hope this happens one day🤞

Riffing!, riffing everywhere!!
You need to check out the new MV from Band Maid "Forbidden Tale". It has everthing we love about Band Maid.
This has always been an underrated one to me. I love the songs that have a lot of layered vocals from Saiki and Miku both. The Shout part is a fun change of pace too.

I love how even back then, every instrument is distinct.
I wish this song was put more in their concert rotation. It has a cool groove and a "I'm going to make things happen" vibe to it
Definitely one of my all time favorite Band-Maid Songs.
I did not expect this blast from the past. Conqueror has slowly become my favourite.
If you want another song in this vein check out Take Me Higher...live if possible. It's out there
An. Absolute. Banger!!
This is one of my favorite songs! Absolutely love it!

@1:50
Band Maid is in the 11th year currently, so the later 1/3 of their catalog.
🙂

This song was a byproduct of the lessons learned while working with Tony Visconti on The Dragon Cries. ❤️
Any song with a Miku gutteral scream is a good song.

This has only been played live one time in the history of Band-Maid. February 13, 2020.
@@DeanF_MIDI That's actually insane! It's a banger of a track. There must be a reason.
This song has such a great flow to it, much like Manners. A great song to crank up during a road trip.
MISA MISA MISA! 🦶🦶🥷🫶
This never felt like the most "impressive" song, but it was one of the few songs that I felt compelled to learn the lyrics so I could sing along.
I’m so glad I got you to do this one!
My favorite song on this album, not that I dislike any of the other songs :). Thanks for sharing your reaction to this awesome song... looking forward to the next one.

Around the same time (2019). "The Dragon Cries" is track 11 on Conqueror, "Flying High" is the next track.

Deep cut Band-Maid and such a great song! Thanks, Chase!
Conqueror is still my favourite album, and this is one of my favourite songs.
Hey Chase. Thanks much, have missed your insights on the ladies
Great song…Miku scream always makes it better!
🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
🤘🤘🤘
Come on miku
This would be a great choice for one of their live shows. It's also just made for a cruising down the highway playlist. Use cruise control though.

MISA MISA MISA!!!!! my Favourite song off of Conqueror and in my top 5 songs by Band-maid it is also my ringtone on my mobile phone.
I hope it wasn't us you were discussing in your community post. Thumbs up for Chase!
Nope. You’re all good. Plus there’s good and bad in all fan bases. But some are so intense and unnecessary
@@ChaseCarneson Thanks for coming back to the maids, Chase. Excited for you guys, gotta be crazy days for you right now. :)

My favorite from Conqueror; the crunchy guitar and Miku's superb vocal additions set this song apart for me.
I've always considered this to be Band-Maid's version of Swing Music.
This would be from Conqueror released in late 2019 (first BM full album was New Beginning in late 2015). A good reference to compare Forbidden Tale from the latest album Epic Narrative, that is an epic musical journey.
MISA MISA MISA
Thanks… Yeah CONQUEROR. Man sorry for late
This is incredibly kind of you. Thank you so much for the support. 🙏
As I Lay Dying with new song “Whitewashed Tomb.” Dropped this week. 🤘🏼🎸🎸🥁🎸🎤🤘🏼
Ooooh I wanna hear this
Damn, what a fun song. That bass, tho, right?

Is it possible for Band Maid to make a bad song? I'm not sure they could do it if they tried.
VOLA - Cannibal feat. Anders Fridén of In Flames 🔥🔥🔥
A mid-album song from a mid-range album within the BM calalog. It's a fun listen 🙂
