A lot of the episodes were filmed during the pandemic 😷. I for one am enormously glad that it is over. His real parents are more like children and he and his sister were the ones who were the parents in the house when they were kids.
I can totally see your point as far as wanting to escape reality when watching T.V. or a movie at least for a little while. But, you have to consider a few things regarding the mask situation. When the Pandemic broke out, it shut down a lot of studios where these movies and shows are taped; and once they went back into production, certain protocols had to take place to ensure proper safety measures were enforced... Because the longer production was shut down, the more money the studio's were losing; and also the longer it took for the show's to return back on the air. Also, do keep in mind that you're watching a clip about a show of First Responders, who would be the 1st people to come in contact with any known threat of a virus. So although art is imitating life on a lot of shows like this; they have a responsibility to show what that entails for people in that line of work, and for it to be as accurate as possible. So they're showing that they have to protect themselves in order to help & protect the people that need their services; along with the fact that the First Responders don't want to take any chances on bringing any health risks around their loved ones as well.
They wore the masks not only, for accuracy but because that was the only way some productions could go ahead. This and NCIS were some the show’s that employed this as that actually used this in production.
There’s some great scenes missing like in Season 1 Bobby helping Buck get ready for a valentines date and even putting his tie on for him like a proud Dad. Or the advice on dating in general, the cooking lessons and Bobby sharing his secret recipes with Buck. The time Athena calls a very worried Buck “Buckaroo” like a mother using a pet name for her child. Season 2 when there’s a flashback scene to Bucks first day on the job, he arrives in the middle of “family dinner” sits in the chair next to Bobby and Bobby just looks like a proud Dad whose son just got home. Their relationship is a keystone of both characters story arcs.

They wore the masks because it was the fastest way to keep on filming. Otherwise they had to pause the series for longer
Well the show is about 911, so i think it would be even more weird withoit a mask.
Oliver Stark (Buck) does a good American accent for being British.
@@ToddReacts Yep, he's from London. I'm a Brit, so what i consider a good American accent, is different from what an actual American would.
