Loved the song on Soundcloud, love the song here as well! awesome job d.notive! Though hehe, this song doesn't remind me much of Depeche Mode but it's still an awesome track nonetheless :D
Man, I love this so much. Like, it creates this eletric dome-like structure that acts as a forcefield, but tells you that someone out there is coming to break it, and it just digs its way into the deepest hole of paranoia in your brain, and just gives it steroids. So you sit there completely protected from the outside but still afraid of what's gonna happen.
Just two comments in the last year? A real shame if this song has been forgotten, as it's a fantastic one in a style we don't see much of among all the dubstep and whatevercore these days.
I will apologize to the internet. I in no way hate "horse fuckers". I think you guys are pretty cool. This song is also pretty good. Bro whoove. Am I right.
I am 43 now and remember the beginning of Depeche Mode and had on vinyl the first album speak and spell, and so with this you nailed the Mode sound for sure. My favorite of yours so far is Second Chance which I heard here on youtube from the new wave retro channel. Great stuff :)
Y'know, I've always thought Celestia was a little off for being the ruler of the friendliest region on the planet. She seems to be omnipresent (I've even got a headcanon theory on it, but it's still kind of dicey due to the lack of consistent evidence. Both Magical Mystery Cure and Lesson Zero, even the opening part of Friendship is Magic Part 1, point to her being omnipresent, but eh) and almost trying to bury her past relations with Luna and even Nightmare Moon. She's always got me wondering "Is there more to her?" because, when you think about it, Celestia's got some things that she'd rather bury.
Dude, i must say, you really captured that Depeche Mode atmosphere flawlessly! If i didn't know this was a pony song, i would've thought this was actually some un-released DM track. Please, keep up the good work! Can't wait to hear more! :D
I heard this in a speedpaint I was watching, and I was like "this sounds exactly like Depeche Mode.." then I Iooked it up and I see in the thumbnail "Depeche Mode" and went "I KNEW IT!!" XD
This isn't a fan-track. This is a damn song. A good damn song. The vocals are what remind me of Depeche Mode, and they are probably the best I have heard from this fandom! Keep music like this up, and you'll be able to make money bro!
The best song of Depeche mode... It is not even their. Awesome work, still listen time to time. From the original date of release. My friend, who has built his career as imitator of original band, love this song. Though it was a lost demo :D I hope, you are doing well and in a good health, man🔥🔥
This does have a lot of that ''Depechey'' feel to it but really i think its something greater than just an imitation of their style. I've heard enough Depeche Mode to say that this is just as good, but in its own way. That is no small feat. Great work!
@dnotive Yes yes yes! A million times, yes! You totally nailed the Violator vibe! Violator is the only CD I have bought 3 times to replace as it has been damaged or stolen. That said, this song is going on my mp3 player.
I was trying to place your style as it was slipping my mind..then thought "You know..he sounds just like Depeche Mode..." And then this came on! You should do some DM covers!
@TheLivingTombstone .. As a result, everyone will had a different idea in their head of what Depeche Mode "sounds like" or is "supposed to sound like." A lot of people, I feel, think of the pseudo-grungey mid-90's, more rock laden stuff they did, while still others remember the poppier, more new-wave-ish stuff from the early 80's. The late 80's saw them with a gothier, and more "lush" sound, whereas I chose to dedicate myself to the early 90's Violator-era sound. :)
This made me write a poem/song. Too bad my mic sucks and I don't have any computer-music making skills or programs to make it. Either way. Amazing song D.notive. You never cease to create rythms and words that hold our minds within a wrap or (possibly dark) beauty. Bravo. Bravo.
As someone born and raised with DM, I think you hit the nail on the head with this ponified emulation. Even if you hadn't mentioned who you drew from, to me the style and sound are clear. Great, great job! This is going straight to my mp3-player. :)
Came here from the brony reaction video. I can't believe I've never heard of you before, but you've made a new section for my iPod. Keep up the great work.
Just looked up some of Depeche Mode's songs, and they totally reminded me of your style, especially with the faux-80s synth sounds in this song. Great job!
The "album version" has a cleaner mix & master, and after it got uploaded to YT, it seemed redundant to have them both on here. This has been unlisted for a while.
This really does remind me of Depeche Mode, which is awesome to me; I love their 80's era work, and while you chose to handle the 90's era sound I could still feel the familiar tones there. I'd say you did a really good job with this, and I love the story the lyrics tell.
You'd already earned yourself a place as my favorite brony musician (getting pretty high on my total list at that!), but this is just something else! Absolutely wonderful! Definite success in the DM attempt; very much grabbed a Music For the Masses / Violator sound. Thanks for another awesome track!
I love both of them, and I understand both perspectives. People love Luna because she represents the underdog, the one who most everyone ignores in favor of the more popular one. People stand by Celestia because being in a position of power doesn't automatically mean you are evil. People(or ponies) will always attack political decisions, regardless of whether of they are good or not. I personally prefer Luna(I love rooting for the underdog), but I love Tia as well. Just my opinion. ~OHM3GA
@Foxhack Hmm ... I drew on World in my Eyes, Dangerous, Happiest Girl, and a bit of Strangelove for melodic ideas (nothing like tapping a few classic B-sides), though I'm curious what you mean by "Sampling?" -- I'm not particularly offended, I just don't think an apples to apples comparison is 100% fair, even though I'm glad another DM-head like me can stop by to offer a bit of insight. All things told this was just an 'imitation,' not an outright duplication; I don't have the means.
While I don't really agree with the interpretation of Equestria's past, I do like the song. A combination of MLP with Depeche Mode style music is a great idea, and you accomplished it quite well!
@Foxhack Ahh, I see what you meant. In the music community, "sampling" implies recording a piece of something and reusing it, which isn't what I did. This was all from scratch. All the same, I'm sorry this wasn't exactly what you were expecting. I do legitimately appreciate the feedback, and thanks for listening!
@dnotive awesome song. I looked up band there's music is pretty good :). BTW I saw the bronies react I was laughing the whole time great job on that too. You sir have talent.
Too much critique here. This song is perfect to me! Maybe it's just because i'm not that judgmental when it comes to music. But really, this sounds professional and done well, and it's really catchy as well. Plus, it's ponies! Nice work on this d.notive~
Oh heavens no. Their first few albums were new wave, and then they started going a new direction culminating in the late 1980's where they added in some rock influence. Flood is the producer who crafted both Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion, and described his attempt to cultivate a "rock" sound with electronic instruments. This is perhaps evidenced by the airplay DM gets on alternative rock stations. So there isn't any one genre the band falls into, and that's what I like about them.
Was listening to this when one of my parents, who's a big depeche mode fan, came in. She thought it was actually them until the first mention of Ponies. XD
To this day I find this song as the hidden gem of the fandom. The quality and style of this song was ahead of the time back then.
Loved the song on Soundcloud, love the song here as well! awesome job d.notive!

#certainlynotforgotten ;3
There is the newer upload now too. Same as far as I know (as in not remastered or anything), just part of the uploads for the album it became part of.
I will apologize to the internet. I in no way hate "horse fuckers". I think you guys are pretty cool. This song is also pretty good. Bro whoove. Am I right.

From the original date of release.
My friend, who has built his career as imitator of original band, love this song.
Though it was a lost demo :D
I hope, you are doing well and in a good health, man🔥🔥
You, sir, have mastered the 80s sound. Seriously. First Becoming Popular and After Hours With Rarity, and now this! I'm impressed.
This does have a lot of that ''Depechey'' feel to it but really i think its something greater than just an imitation of their style. I've heard enough Depeche Mode to say that this is just as good, but in its own way. That is no small feat. Great work!
Without a doubt, this is your best song yet. And I don't mean that lightly, I'm the guy that listened to only Hand for Hoof a week straight.
@dnotive Yes yes yes! A million times, yes! You totally nailed the Violator vibe! Violator is the only CD I have bought 3 times to replace as it has been damaged or stolen. That said, this song is going on my mp3 player.

I like how this sounds like a fusion of Voltaire and Depeche Mode. Awesome!
This made me write a poem/song. Too bad my mic sucks and I don't have any computer-music making skills or programs to make it. Either way. Amazing song D.notive. You never cease to create rythms and words that hold our minds within a wrap or (possibly dark) beauty. Bravo. Bravo.
For a second I even thought that it's Dave Gahan singing. This is extremely awesome, please create more music emulating Depeche Mode.
As someone born and raised with DM, I think you hit the nail on the head with this ponified emulation. Even if you hadn't mentioned who you drew from, to me the style and sound are clear. Great, great job! This is going straight to my mp3-player. :)
I just discovered you. Where have you been all my life! Oh..right here.
it sounds like an old song love that :P
As a MASSIVE Depeche Mode Fan, I can definitely hear the DM essence in this
Came here from the brony reaction video. I can't believe I've never heard of you before, but you've made a new section for my iPod. Keep up the great work.
this one has been stuck in my head all day
Just looked up some of Depeche Mode's songs, and they totally reminded me of your style, especially with the faux-80s synth sounds in this song. Great job!
DEFINITELY NAILED IT! Sounds like a track that could be right in Music for the Masses or Violator
Coming back to listen to this awesome song again, please do some more in this Depeche Mode style, it's unbelievably good!
This song makes epic headcanon. Very well-composed. Bravo, notive.
Why was this unlisted? Just curious. It is a true classic of yours.
The "album version" has a cleaner mix & master, and after it got uploaded to YT, it seemed redundant to have them both on here. This has been unlisted for a while.
Ah, I see
This really does remind me of Depeche Mode, which is awesome to me; I love their 80's era work, and while you chose to handle the 90's era sound I could still feel the familiar tones there. I'd say you did a really good job with this, and I love the story the lyrics tell.
I'm adding this to my daily must-listen-to-every-day list!
Someday you guys will be the next artists I hear on the radio. Awesome work
Because of this, I bought a Depeche Mode album today.
I was not disappointed.
You'd already earned yourself a place as my favorite brony musician (getting pretty high on my total list at that!), but this is just something else! Absolutely wonderful! Definite success in the DM attempt; very much grabbed a Music For the Masses / Violator sound. Thanks for another awesome track!
@Hedtwister d.notive has been making music for over a decade. that should be enough of a reason why he's awesome
I love both of them, and I understand both perspectives.
People love Luna because she represents the underdog, the one who most everyone ignores in favor of the more popular one.

I am a huge DM-Fan.
DM and MLP... You my dear sir made my day.
And you got a great voice!
@TheLivingTombstone Hiya Tomb! I'm so happy that you like the song.
I seriously need to check out more of your songs d.notive!
While I don't really agree with the interpretation of Equestria's past, I do like the song. A combination of MLP with Depeche Mode style music is a great idea, and you accomplished it quite well!
As a Depeche Mode fan and a closet brony, I love this. Excellent job ^_^
I love this, and that's saying something because I usually hate anything to do with the whole "Tyrant Celestia" thing.
Sir, you just earned another subscriber. Never even heard your music till now...
This is awesome. I love Depeche Mode and at first I thought this was a cover! That just goes to show how much talent you have.
Funny this song was released on my 11th birthday. I couldn't ask for anything more
You are an amazing singer, probably one of the best in the community O_O
Really awesome, this is going straight to my iPod. I've only heard a couple of Depeche Mode songs but your voice sounds pretty "Depechey" to me.
this reminds me so much of the 80's...thank you!
The song is amazing. The vocals are equally amazing. I really like your voice in this.
@dnotive awesome song. I looked up band there's music is pretty good :). BTW I saw the bronies react I was laughing the whole time great job on that too. You sir have talent.
It really does sound kinda like Depeche Mode! Well done.

Depeche Mode rocks! And this is truly amazing! You do kind of sound like Dave lol. You just made my day :)
Can't get enough of your epic voice.
Too much critique here. This song is perfect to me! Maybe it's just because i'm not that judgmental when it comes to music. But really, this sounds professional and done well, and it's really catchy as well. Plus, it's ponies! Nice work on this d.notive~
Can´t wait for your next material, you rock!
THIS IS AMAZING! ENDURE MY ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE!
@TheLivingTombstone Parts of the song remind me of Land of Confusion by Genesis. The percussion reminds me of Depeche Mode.
Dude his voice is fucking beautiful. This song is amazing.
The Depechey feel is greatly achived!
Very, very good. You've got the musical style nailed; not too sure about the vocals, but I don't think anyone can replicate Dave Gahan's voice.
Perfect funky beat, matched with your voice it makes this song so damn sexy, VERY nice.
You're made of awesome dood ^_^ I played this track in Beat Hazard and it made for a rather good battle ^_^
Забавная поняшная смесь Dangerous и World in My Eyes, автору респект.
as a depeche mode lover ... i also love you dude :D
This is your best song ever. Personal opinion, just gonna put that out there.
I've had this song downloaded for a while now, and I didn't know who the artist was (because my friend gave me the songs) but I love your song
Hot track, dude. You nailed the style.
Very well done d.notive!

EPIC SONG EVAR!!!!
You are awesome, good sir. 'Nuff said.
So much awesomeness
why is this so awesome
I'm Thomas Reno, and I endorse this video.
@dnotive Violator is my favorite DM album. good choice :)
Was listening to this when one of my parents, who's a big depeche mode fan, came in. She thought it was actually them until the first mention of Ponies. XD
Man, it's amazing :D
*Not even 23 seconds in. Subscribes.* That sir, was fan-bucking-tastic! Great voices well! Have you had formal training, because it sounds like it.
You should go on America's got talent with this song. I bet you would win.
Matt, I remember you telling me that the vocals on this were "meh"
but my lack of pants says otherwise
