FUN FACTS ABOUT THIS SONG [Expand the Description to see!] :
• This is the original version- this song was released on October 6th, 2011. The Living Tombstone's remix was released on January 21st, 2012, making his later than mine by 3 months and 15 days. On 1/8/2015, Odyssey removed "(EuroChaos Mix)" from the title because it confused people into thinking that it was a remix of Tombstone's, an inaccuracy still rampant to this day, even amongst show staff.
• This song is 158 BPM. Tombstone's remix is 105 BPM, but he sped up the vocals to 210 BPM to make sure they didn't drag out too long. This is why his seems "faster", despite being 2/3 the speed of the original.
• The Living Tombstone has gone out of his way on several occasions to credit this song as the original- in the title, he calls his version "(Remix)"; in the video itself, he provides a linked annotation to the original; in the description, the original is the first link he has provided.
• There are other remixes of Discord than The Living Tombstone's. They are all quite fantastic and all worth hearing, even if it would take a long time to list them all here.
• This song went through several different versions before settling on this one- click here • OLD Super Ponybeat - P... to see the other versions I had in mind! (Video says it was published in 2013, but that's the date I made the video public, not the date it was published!)

Discord didn't have a theme song in Season 2. So I made one for him. I tried to make this one reflective of his characteristic sense of humor and cunning, with a dash of villainy for good measure (and the fact that he's, well, a villain).
Eurobeat-wise, it's much like late Time pieces (in fact, it borrows a great deal from "Speed Man" by Dave Simon), but jumps between a couple other genres in light of Discord's distaste for consistency. Which genres? You'll have to listen~ (or cheat by reading the tags, but where's the fun in that?)

This is going to be turning 10 YEARS OLD in a a little over a month, so let me just say in advance, thank you so much for the music you make Jessa, all your different pseudonims have managed to carry me through my life one way or another, this song was essentially my first introduction to eurobeat way back when I couldn't even differentiate musical genres, so it's naturally a very special song so to me, and you're a very special artist, keep making what you make, because you're an absolute legend!

Back when I found you like 6 years ago from your Touhou remixes, I'll admit, I found your songs a tad cringy, but after hearing them a couple times, I realized that there was this raw unfiltered sincerity emanating from your work that is simply unmatched by anyone. That combined with your simply beautiful harmony just melts my brain every time and has had me hooked ever since. I know I'm just a fan from across the internet, but It makes me very happy that from everything I've seen, you're doing quite well for yourself (congrats btw). Man, I like both versions. This one lets you hear the lyrics and the excellent inflections and variance of tone/pitch in them better, while the remix is more hype because of how fast the lyrics get fired at you.

I enjoy Tombstone's remix (and his music in general), but this one just screams "Discord" to me a little more. I understand people liking the other, but it pains me that the original often gets little to no recognition.
I think that's the main reason people get so passionate about it. For a while, people would even stubbornly argue that it was Tombstone's song, even despite his video's description crediting the person responsible for the original.

It's been 3 years and 10 days since the release of The Living Tombstone 's remix of Discord. Almost every day since then there have been lots of comments like "Oh, Tombstone's is way better!" and "This one's not as good, it's slower..." Even if that kind of evaluation is generally based more on taste/opinion than any factual statements (though I will concede that Tomb's is generally better-polished), there's not much I can do to fight that.
I get it, I really do. And there's not much I can do to fix it or change it, now.
While Tomb's been one of the very best sports about it, it's been a bit of a drain to have this kind of unsupportive talk about one of my proudest works, on what's been nearly a daily basis. I really do work hard, when I do have time to work on music, to improve and make things sound more polished, more energetic, and more interesting; but there's not much I can do to grow as a musician with "Tombstone's is better" "yours is slower" "yours isn't as good". Speeding up Eurobeat? This song's already 158BPM compared to Tomb's 105BPM... I've released plenty of faster songs since then, upwards of 165BPM. (I also refuse to enter nightcore territory...!) For those of you who intend to post such a comment, please consider the good it may or mayn't do- it doesn't help Tomb, it doesn't help me, it doesn't really help anyone. Although I really need to follow my own advice and brush it off, it still kind of stings, even after this long.
However, I don't mean to sound as if I don't see the praise and more insightful comments that have sprung up over the years. To those of you who have encouraged me or pointed out ways that I actually CAN grow- or, in some cases, called me out on some of the less savory responses/things I've said about this song and the remix- I thank you immensely. Regardless of what people think of this version compared to its remixes, I'm still extremely proud of Discord as a song, a big part of which is due to the general reaction people have had to it (that it made their day better, more interesting, or more fun somehow), and the fact that it's had that effect on so many people! Though I do feel I've worked hard on my own, I can't help but feel a little lucky for this much, and your input has helped me grow in the way I have so far.
I have some of the very best fans in the world, I really do believe that. I may not have as many as Tombstone or BlackGryphon or Mic the Microphone or Andromulus, but what I do have in you all is quality- so many of you reach out with praise, with positivity and encouragement, even telling me about how the song has helped you in one way or another- that I'm genuinely blessed to have your support, and hope to continue to create works that please and entertain you just as much as this, if not even more so.
Sorry for rambling! I needed an 'old man rant' moment there, and I think this more than says my peace on the matter. I harbor no ill will towards Tombstone- hell, we'll be performing at Japan Ponycon later this year, which is gonna be awesome! Please look forward to both of our works as we continue to grow.

When not compared to its remixes, I think this is a very good song. However, when compared to the only 2 remixes I heard, which are TLT's and Sim's, it does fall a bit short. That might be because I listened to the remixes before finding this and that may be a key factor. That point might be made moot, though, because I do enjoy Sim's remix better than TLT's despite the fact I heard TLT's first.
The get back on topic, this is a great piece of work and I will try to find more of your songs to listen to.
Of course it was one of the earliest songs, later remixed into one of the fandoms most memorable songs, but what has to be remembered is that you started that.
You did a good job on it for its time, and you still make good music.
Don't be discouraged by those who don't like it.

While I will admit I like Tombstone's remix a little better just as a song to listen to, I like the tone behind this one better. It feels like a boss battle theme, actually. The jazzy, fast beat in the background is much more energetic, and the whole song just captures Discord's personality better, in my opinion.
I know, right?! The music itself feels more suited to Discord in this one, but the other has a catchier beat, and is more suited for just rocking out. The slow pace of the lyrics felt awkward to me, but I loved the music behind it.
