A remix/update of "Discord" by Eurobeat Brony (2011)
I've wanted to re-make Discord for quite some time now, if only as a reflection of the kind of progress I've made as a musician since I put the original together.
I released this update to the song on the fifth anniversary of MLP:FiM's first airdate, October 10. This video is going up four years and ten days after the very first version went up in 2011, one week after said video reached 3 million views, and just short of three years and ten months after The Living Tombstone's remix.
"Discord" has been a song that transcends barriers, introducing bronies and MLP fans to eurobeat, making the genre accessible to those who otherwise wouldn't have heard it, sprinkling some variety into an otherwise rigid genre, and even having a few eurobeat fans ask what the fuss about technicolor horses is all about. Who would've thought that a single song, a follow-up to "Luna" and referential piece to "Speed Man" by Dave Simon, would spark such a reaction?
You've all been the very best fans a musician could ask for, and I'm glad to finally reward your patience.

The original Discord has always been my favorite song to come from the fandom by far! And that has yet to change even after all these years. It's very interesting to hear a different take on the song 4 years later. From the bottom of my heart thank you so much for creating this song!
I know it's a long shot, but do you think you'd ever go back and make eurobeat versions of some of the older songs from the show that you skipped over? I always looked forward to that every time.

I love the new take on this! I'm actually a fan of when artists re-update their works and remasters after having done other things, so I appreciate you coming back to this.

I'll never get tired of this song in all its forms. original, sequel, remix, cover all versions are amazing, and all built on a solid foundation.
Also, gotta say I didn't used to be into Eurobeat all that much, but it's really grown on me. This song, and the Initial D soundtrack really changed my perspective on Eurobeat, and now I find myself wishing there were more people making Eurobeat, cause I love it and I want to keep listening all day.

Wow, this has brought back so many memories from 5 years back. i remember back on /co/ when i was still eiffy about the whole pony thing, and one of the things that won me over was your eurobeat remixes of Evil Enchantress and Winter Wrap up. Strange to think that was 5 years ago, back when everyone was waiting for the new episodes to be uploaded in 480p every Friday by Pensivepine and we were worried about our silly pony show not getting a second season.
Thanks for bringing back those memories Eurobeat Brony, the original verson of 'Discord' was always my favourite and this remake is great too.

This is great, it's really nice to hear this song years later haha. Excellent work! I used to play Discord so much when I drove my friends around back in high school when the original came out, and this totally makes me remember the good old days.
This song was my introduction to quality fan music for MLP. I just LOVE the inherent chaos in the entire piece and it truly embodies Discord as a character. Keep it up!

Oh man, I had so much déjà vu and nostalgia happen while listening to this. The LivingTombstone remix of this song was the first MLP-based song I had ever heard on RUclips. And after hearing it, I of course had to listen to the original and listen to other songs from the original artist. This song seriously kickstarted my way into the MLP fandom, and hearing this new remix of it years later is amazing.
I used to think that Tombstone's remix was original but i found the most recent original version then i found this one.

The more I listen to Eurobeat, the more I appreciate your style; maybe I'm just listening to the wrong stuff but there are a few distinct things that make you stand out. This remake especially is really cool.

I can't believe I've never heard this version before. You've made a ton of improvement from the original to this version. The sound quality is way better, the bass line and mixing are much more refined and professional sounding, and the dubstep part is infinitely better. 10/10 from me.
Why do you always speak of this song in the same breath as TLT's remix (I'm looking at the annotation)? It's such a great song, it stands on its own. You really don't need to constantly compare it, IMO.
+Sidnoea I agree and disagree because like, I believe this version is superior as it's much more chaotic and bouncy compared to the calm controlled Tombstone's mix. It kinda makes the song ass backwards to what it's reperesenting..Connotative Dissonance I believe it's called. I mean, the fact that chaos shows up and changes the song to Polka and to DUBSTEP because reasons, that's fucking brilliant! I'd love a PMV reperesenting this.
+Sidnoea Honestly, I think it's more that a lot of others have compared the two songs. From what I gathered from the original mix the comments comparing the two were near constant and when faced with such an attitude it's hard not to try to justify yourself compared to someone and their work (even if it is derivative) rather than in spite of them.
+Lenmonade The Living Tombstone offers his remix for free, and if he indeed gets a lot more attention, the original still sits at three million views, which is hardly a penny's worth of views, especially not in this fandom.

Tombstone had a style that was easy to get behind based on the pop style at the time. It's a little unfortunate that he basically only had one style and structure. All of his music kinda ran together in my head
@@thanecrown Okay, but like, are you sure? There's a few parts where tlt plays like a 30 second repetitive loop of sound that doesn't do justice to the energy and mood of the original. I feel like it was thrown together quickly. As far as remixes go, I'll always believe that one was overhyped. Maybe it just isn't my style?
It's amazing to hear you revisit this song- especially since it was the Living Tombstone remix that made me decide to give MLP a shot. This song led to my personal character making a complete 180 from an asocial, highly judgmental gamer kid into a... asocial but much MUCH less judgmental and nicer person. Also totally didn't know you made the original. The Living Tomb Stone really dumbed it down huh? I always assumed that the original song was just the Lyrics, and LT made it all punchey but you actually had all this colourful music under it to begin with and this whole beginning boss battle thing that got completely washed out in his version.
I think I like this version most though, mainly because it seems alittle faster to me and I usually run around to music rather than just sitting down to listen. Have you ever seen a cat or dog run back and forth in a really small enclosed space and rapidly veer directions? That's me when I listen to songs and this works perfectly for it.

Thomas Halsted Mhm. Apparently, TLT's version is like, what, 105BPM? Which, with the sped up lyrics, matches up really nicely and makes it seem faster. The BPM in Eurobeat is always above 140BPM, otherwise it goes back to being Eurodance or Italo Disco.

@Razin the Changeling I did not see this until now. But I'm curious: What would saying it to his face do exactly? What outcome were you envisioning? Do you want a musician we both like to be hurt? Or do you imagine that I would be the one hurt? Either way it seems better not to show it to him. Though I think the phrase dumbed down sums up what I mean pretty well. It roles off the tongue easier than something like simplified or basic and does not insult the original song like streamlined or some other synonym might have. I don't see an issue.

Your Winter Wrap Up remix was the one song that introduced me to eurobeat. I then listened to your original Discord song back in early 2012 and that got me hooked to your music and I've been a big fan of your work ever since. As for this remix/remake, I do agree with some that it does sound too much like the original with some new parts like the intro for example. Nonetheless, this song brings back memories and I'm happy to see you bring it back. Keep up the good work dude!
