Awesome looking SPs! I like the bloody nose SP paint scheme. Thanks for pulling freight cars, E units are meant for passenger cars but they look great pulling freight!

Yeah. I watched some videos of the E9s and they always pulled passenger. Guess I need to get some silver and red coaches to go with them. But the freight does look cool.

It's very interesting seeing this locomotive in the bloody nose paint scheme since it wears the Daylight scheme nowadays (and when it was delivered). The horn on the model represents the Nathan M5R24 (R24 meaning the #2 and #4 bells are reversed, while the #1,#3, and #5 bells are forward). This is best represented by the 1st horn selection. These are great models, but I agree with you about the trailing unit 6053 not having sound. I personally would take the extra sound over more motors, especially in this case. Love all the detail on these models (at least for how much there is on a streamlined diesel) and the winterization hatches are a cool touch. Always great seeing new videos Colby! I get closer and closer to making my own some day.

I hope I can convince you fully soon. I love seeing these in the Bloody Nose scheme as they were painted like this later in the 60s. Thanks for the info on the horn.

I'll have to clear some grass for a future camp site.

I sure wish you had a bigger layout. Not complaining but a larger layout would enhance your engines.

Or engines that are shorter length.

I wish I did too. As for all of us, we are limited by the space that we have. For me, all I have is half a 2 car garage available. Maybe that will change 1 day

    Horn #1 is a Nathan M5.
    Horn #2 is a K5LLA.
    Horn #3 is a S3L.
    Horn #4 is a P3.
    Horn #5 is an A200.
#1 & #5 would be most accurate for an E8.

Somewhat surprised they'd use a K5LLA. Didn't that come out more recently, like in the last 15-20 years? I would've thought the K5LA would be more accurate (I bought a K5LLA, hated it and changed out the 1L for another bell - maybe it was a 5?). Nonetheless, horn #2 sounds really good on this recording, though. The S3L doesn't sound that great in this recording, the A200 sounds spot on though, and the M5 and P3 sound fantastic.

They bought one E8 and they didn't like it. You can tell most e8's from e9's by looking at the headlight if there is no mars light its an e9, most of the time.

Horn #1 is closest to what the Espee units had.

Is your headlight LED flickering, or is that just the camera? Or is it trying to mimic a mars light?

    • @PriestBrosLines
      @PriestBrosLines  8 месяцев назад +1

The top is a Mars light so it does flicker. However, sometimes the frame rate of the camera does weird things to LEDs

I don't think the magnets in the top of hatches are actually is magnetic, I have the green NYC ones, doesn't seem to hold down on mine

Hmm. Mine seem to fit nice but are easy to remove.
