We made this channel to share with everyone our 0 scale model trains and the layout that they run on. This is purely for the entertainment of other railfans and hobbyists. I am building this layout in my garage and it is a hobby of love. Thanks for watching!

Yes it is true. I have already cut and moved the layout. It is in a very sad state. However, it will live again. Thanks to all who have been watching and subscribing. Stay tuned for some short videos in the meantime.
Lionel SP Sunset Limited Coaches

We are looking at an older release from Lionel in 2015. These are 18" aluminum coaches in the SP Sunset Limited scheme. They come with LEDs and passengers already in there. This train is being pulled by the Lionel E9's just released which is prototypical to what you would have seen in the 1960's. I really like this train because it is different. As much as I love the Daylight scheme, it is nice...

I use 805 or 806 depending on the car. Mostly 805

I'm in my new house now and am still in the process of moving everything and finding where everything will go. The layout is in the garage but is still cut up. It just isn't a priority right now. Moving is hard work. Thanks for watching.

They bought one E8 and they didn't like it. You can tell most e8's from e9's by looking at the headlight if there is no mars light its an e9, most of the time.

I want no part of a kinematic pilot. That would be a deal breaker for me. I hope Lionel doesn't make that a standard feature across the board.
They are doing it more and more. It looks nice but I have experienced operational problems which are big headaches.

I didn't see how you wire the track. Where you actually connect the wire to the track. That's what I was watching the video for based on the title of the video.
You are right. I should have added that. I bought rail joiners with wire soldered directly to them from Atlas. That is what my feeder wires are. If you are confident in soldering, you can make your own with some wire and loose rail joiners. It is a lot cheaper. Thanks for watching.

Can't hate on the SP AC-12. I have the most recent Legacy release, 4294 (the one at CSRM) and is my favorite articulated. Seeing this video makes me want to run mine with my PFE train. I guess I know what I'm doing tomorrow... Also, is this an older video and just something you're putting out interimly while the layout moves?
Go run an AC. You won't be disappointed. This is a video that I made right before I broke up my layout. I made many short videos right before I did that and I am releasing them slowly. It will be a while until my layout lives in my new home and is operational so I did this to still have content.

Very nice! The Capitol Limited operates Chicago-Cleveland-Pittsburgh-Washington DC and intermediate points and used these type Heritage cars until the 1990s when Superliner equipment began protecting the Capitol Limited trains #29 and #30.

Glad you like them. I like how they have a mixture of both smooth and ribbed.
What do you use for ballast? It looks great.
I use Brennen's Better Ballast. I also add a little extra brown ballast. Glad you like it.

When I moved I just built a new layout, and switched to a different but not a different gauge so my old layout used classic tubular track my new one uses atlas, but still o gauge 3 rail.

Dang, that's really too bad that you have to tear down the layout. I suspected something was up not seeing a video in a long while. Hope the move goes smoothly and hope it's not too far. (Staying in SoCal I presume?) Fortunately, I built my layout so that it could be taken apart (in halves like yours) whenever it needs to be moved. Just gotta finish the scenery and landscape first... Thanks for the update Colby, much appreciated.
I'm only moving a few miles down the road but to a new construction with more land. Sadly the garage is smaller. You should do a video on your layout. I'd love to see it.
@@PriestBrosLines That's too bad that it's a smaller garage but I know you had your reasons for moving. My layout isn't anything impressive at the moment but once I finish some more scenery work I plan to make a video. Hopefully soon!

I moved last year and that meant moving my layout also. In my case my layout was much larger that the room it is now in, so I had to largely start over. I am sure that, while you will not be able to realize all the expansion plans you had, you will still have a layout you will be happy with, and some of it may even be improved over what it has been. Good luck.
Yeah I am hoping to do things better now that I have more knowledge and experience. I will have to shorten the unfinished side of the layout but still have enough to have 072 curves.

You have good taste.
What size curve are you using? I have 21 GATX tank cars, I am using O-36 curves. I am finding I pull only max of 18. Beyond that, the first 1-2 cars in the consist start to tip son the curves. Not figured any solution. Also learned, from research, to be accurate, you need to have a buffer car between the locos and the tank cars. Railroad regs read that the tank cars need to be separated at least one car length from the locomotive. I usually run my with one of the A-B-A all powered locos. But I also find that a single SD-40T-2 does just fine, although not as much fun.
I use 0 72 and there are a few 081 in there too. You are correct about the buffer car but i believe that to be a more recent regulation because I see videos from the 80s of them pulling the oil can train and there is no buffer car.
@@PriestBrosLines Thank you. It looks like my max is 18 GATX cars, until I can change the layout to O-72. It is only the first 1-2 cars in he consist. I have tried adding a heavy buffer car in the lead, but it does not help. Just too much weight on the GATX for negotiating an O-36. Seems to be right at the edge of the envelope-18 normal operation- 19 cars, and it goes south...
i was able to upgrade the outer loop of my layout to O-60 curves. Did not have the room for O-72, but O-60 worked. Now I can run my full consist of 21 GATX tanks with no issues at all!

I'm mad Because at the time this set was in the catalog. Somebody had hacked my bank account and stole a bunch of money from me So I wasn't able to pre-order this set but I ended up finding this set at a train shop So I paid for it over the phone But one of the other workers that worked there didn't realize that the set was already sold to me and ended up selling it to another person and the other person would not give it back even after the owner of the train shop tried to get the set back to no avail I told the owner of the shop I was just going chalk up the loss and move on and I firmly believe as the years go on this set is going to only going to get more expensive as the year's go on to wear nobody's going be able to buy one if anyone can find one at that being that this set more than likely won't really ever come for sale.
