700 hisun you did top end on? How can I find top dead center on the compression stroke with the engine still in the vehicle? I saw you looking in a hole? what are you looking for?

Well on top of the stator cover there is the pulsar coil & there is a timing mark on the flywheel. Do you have the cam out of the unit? If not then take the valve cover off & watch the intake vavles open & then close. When they closeyou keep turning the flywheel until the piston reaches the top if the stroke & then check for the for the timing mark in the hole were the pulsar coil was.

Yes, top end is off, it was brought to me like this after a shop tried to sell them a seven to $10,000 engine replacement. We are going to try to just do the top end. I’ve got a piston and sleeve on the way with new gaskets.

Well them you just need to make sure the rod is at the top of the stroke. No need to line up any marks if the topend is off. When you put the cylinder back on just make sure the piston is at the top if the stroke & then put the head on & then the cam & lime up the timing makes on the cam level with the surface of the head & have the cam lobes pointing down

I know its your opinion that its not worth fixing but thats not what people want to see in one of these 'rescue' videos so zero entertainment value for the viewer. We want to see the head at least taken off to find whats happened if its going to be worth watching at all. Sorry.

I completely get what you are saying. But I don't work for free & if my customer doesn't want to proceed with the job then I'm going to stop. If it was my own I would absolutely do a complete tear down & show my viewers what is destroyed.

@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 I completely understand but viewers don't want 14,mins of why you can't do something they want to be entertained by you tearing stuff apart and putting it right or not.
