HOW MUCH did my Mugen Equipped Honda Integra Type R cost me to build ? 6 digits DC2R??

Last year we restored a DC2R for the CARGEMS web series. What would've been a 20,000$ project 15 years ago turned into something WAY more expensive.

Lovely car👍 but the prices for JDM stuff has gone pretty daft imho. Especially in North America. Look, fair play, but 300 odd quid for a _sticker_ just because it has "Mugen" on it is kinda crazy. I have the strong sniff of a bubble around JDM cars and parts at the moment.
I'm just glad that I gathered up a few spares for my R(mainly cos it's my daily) a few years back when they were cheap, or even free. Not so long ago either, pre covid mostly. Though in 2022 I got a set of UKDM - well they're actually EuroDM(and Australia iirc) - rear lights in great condition for 120 Euro, so roughly 180 $ Canadian.
FWIW fitting the Type Rx keyless entry setup is simple enough. The Rx(and rest of the Integra range) folding mirrors is a little more tricky. The loom differences between option deletes are small, where they're present at all. Like when you fitted the optional clock the plug for it is on the standard loom. Just another option delete for the Japanese market. Others are aircon(rarely not fitted in my experience)ABS, airbags(again rarely not fitted from 98 on), third brake light, clock, radio, rear speakers. The only option my particular car got was aircon, though they went for the dealer option Honda Access rear strut bar.

Sweet car however a k20a2 would drive so much nicer in that shell and so much more power trust me I know I have one night and day difference.

All depends on the car build and the owner/driver. K is 💯 better for driving performance, but if it’s a museum piece then b18c for nostalgia I suppose. Imo k20a is the answer

USDM Type R better...... more rare and fetch a heftier price. Plus I like the round headlight look, the JDM front is getting old with these. Just my opinion.

Spec R’s are better to drive though…
