I purchased one about a yr ago I noticed that it wasn't veryin low light now I put it outside in bright indirect sunlight and its coming along fine now with new groth great video thank you Update it's been a while since I purchased my Yucca plant and its doing very very well again thank for the video
Thanks for the video. Very short and simply.
Can I save mine if it has been overwatered and all leaves turned brown?
Can you keep the stump after you cut the plant in middle and replant the top half? Will it grow into another plant? Also, is there anything else( like dipping in growth hormone or letting it root in water first) you need to do, or do plant it directly in soil after you cut off the plant? Thanks for making the video 😃
I just purchased a yukka from lowes, I live in ct and it has a the bay window with lots of sun. After further inspection I noticed some of the ends are brown. Should I just see what happens? I researched on the watering of the plant . Im even misted it. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi.. thank you for this very informative video but I really need your help. I have a store bought small yucca, I usually keep it hydrated and not too wet but it doesn't seem to be doing well. There are no new leaves and the all the others are droopy.. don't know what to do 😞😞😞
Thank you so much
Hi my yucca is drooping. It’s a quite big but I need to save it
I just bought a pretty tall Yuca plant. Cost me 40 bucks. I put it outside and its kind of cold. I guess I should take it inside. The soil that came with it is pretty brown should I replace that soil with some richer newer soil thats more like the type you have in your vid?
I've seen this variety(Yucca elephantipese(sp?)) growing outside in southern California, but not in direct sun. Where they seem to thrive is "dappled" sunlight(e.g. bright, but usually in shaded sun, like through a tree with intermittent sun/shade is probably ideal. NOT direct, hot sun, at least from what I've seen, as direct sun tends to scorch the delicate fronds. These Yuccas - at least out there - can get quite tall, like 6-8' with broad tree-like trunks with multiple crowns. I've seen them planted along the sides of a building, where they get shade or growing out of a corner. An impressive accent or specimen plant to add to a tropical feel to your garden. Just remember to protect them from ANY kind of hard freeze. Frost only during the night would be tolerated. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Good luck. Remember, this plant is tropical and doesn't like extremes, especially cold.
Yea, for the uk I'd say keep it indoors, unless you live down south where its full hottest sun possible.
Also sun exposure can vary, as full sun in the uk will do wonders for your yukky, but full sun in the USA or Vietnam etc it may burn it due to hotter and longer periods of exposure, I think that's where all the confusion is at. People need to remember different commentary are all situated in different climates and zones .
do the roots grow a lot in general or are small pots advised?
If I’ve Overwatered should I just let it dry out or should I remove the soil find a dry soil
Are the plants hardy outdoor yuccas or tropical indoor dracaenas?
So my Yucca is bi-polar. If I move it from the sun, then is gets mad at me and starts to die -_-
They like direct sun just alright. I've been to Greece and they had them yuccas huge ones outside in pots. In the 30+ degrees Celsius...
Yea thats bs i think, mines in the full sun in the front room and loving it, temp is probably around 26 30 c max
Theo Kugler you are right Theo, nobody cares
How often to water them please
I was gifted a big yucca plant
Why do no videos ever seem to mention feeding? Bought some bone stuff of sorts. Don't know what it is or how much is needed though.
If you do cut it in half can both parts be planted? Or just the top?
Both, the part with the roots will start giving new growth from the sides of the stem
My yucca looks just like that except it is maybe 10 years old. It has grown four very long arms and is taking up a lot of room now. Can those arms be pruned off? I really want to keep my plan. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
That's awesome!
How did you maintain it for so long?
@@chapinando Just sun and fairly light watering really! :) I finally got an answer about those limbs from a garden shop. They were just taking up so much room. I cut them all off and put the plant outside all summer. With a week I had new growth. Buy the time I brought it inside a few weeks ago it has grown to look just like the ones you buy in the store again! I'm so glad I didn't hurt it! What a tank!
@@chapinando I don't know lol. I just kept at it.
Me la acabo comprar me costo $ 23 dólares tamaño regular ojalá y no se me valla a secar
Can you recommend the soil that is good for a Yucca plant ?
Any general house plant potting mix will do
prau do I have to feed the plant ?? Sorry I’m new and I want to make sure I care for it properly.
They like well drained alkaline soil, so mixing normal soil / compost with perlite is good.
the pot tight or not
Hey. i cant read the white colored writing on your video
Also the text goes so fast that it is impossible to keep up while looking at the plants as well.
Hi are she need special lights ???
Can you keep them outside like on a deck under shade? Can they handle heat?
yes to both , not too much heat though as the leaves will go brown and start to die
Simon Nilsson thank you Simon! I’m gonna give it a go!
WHAT IF THE BRANCHES FEEL HOLLOW LIKE A EMPTY HOSE AND ONE GREEN LEAF IS WAYY OUT THERE?
I was told that is a rotten trunk - too much watering.
I dont like the fact that you did not speak during this care video because i had to stop cleaning my house to watch this video
but I had
My yucca is struggling. I see a lot of gnats on the yellow sticky trap. I got it 3 months ago and the leaves are turning yellow and brown. Some are spotted and most have a powdery white thing on them. It has 3 stalks and the smallest one has only about 7 leaves while the tallest stalks inside leaves are all dying turning brown.
Did your yucca make it?
@@25anomaly no :(
Almost sounds like you have mealy bugs
Was your yucca in direct or indirect light? Did you water it too often and too much?
I just got this plant of someone I paid £30 it's like 9ft tall Im hear to find out how to care for it lol
Me too
I bought a yucca plant a couple months ago. At first it was doing great but then the leaves turned brown and died. I lost like 15 leaves. I have two green but sad leaves. I don’t have the plant in direct light. How can I recover my yucca plant before it dies? Do you know?
Jazriel Mg I think you are right. I took your advice and I will update you on what happens. I hope I didn’t kill it. 😬
@@theunlikelyhomeschooler7352 did it die? I’m having the same problem and don’t know weather to try this x
@@lilybennett-cowell5913 Yeah mine did end up dying. I tried to save it but it was to late.
@@theunlikelyhomeschooler7352 it’s not over watering, it’s under lighting that kills them
@@nygeek6471 I had no idea! My plant did end up dying. I’ll have to get another one and remember what you said.
is this apartment theraphy or plant theraphy channel? you cant 1 million like this
Can you slow down the text… next time
Dude what the fuck is bright indirect sunlight
That means not directly in the sun. Inside with light shining in is preferred.
Yea dude what kind of insane magic are they expecting from us?!
Do i need magnets for this to work or what?!!!
