@Allen Reynolds oh no I didn't miss that. She said that when she threatened to leave then he went ring shopping so that said it all. If she didn't mention that and only mentioned about him saying "she gotta change her attitude" then I would've definitely questioned her attitude and what's the real reason. Some use that "he ain't doing his job" excuse when there's 2 sides to every story.

Exactly her problem. Why is she calling him a " man-friend" in the first place? First and foremost, put a title on it ...which is boyfriend and girlfriend. And she's wondering why he won't marry her? Tommy T don’t play the age card! There a lot of wonderful older single man. She can find love at any age that’s faith she just needs to believe in timing and on God! Nothing is impossible. Yes it will take her some time to heal from her past and get her confidence back. But she will be fine. I rather it take me a long time to find the right one then be stuck in a relationship with someone for 11 years who didn’t even want to be married to me. She’s better off being single. Then being in a relationship which gives her a lot of heart ache.

Like Steve always say, men will treat us the way we allow them. If we have confidence, we will stick out for what we want knowing that we don’t have to settle for anything less. However, some men sense that vulnerability and lack of confidence and they use it to manipulate. Telling her that she needs to change basically, so she is good enough to be his regular thing but needs improvement to be his wife, huh. He is no damn good.

I don't even entertain men who are hesitant about marriage because it's important to me. And don't let anybody shame you for wanting to be married. They are going to be all up in my replies talking about marriage ain't for everybody (well it's for me, if it's not for you, we can't be together), it's just a piece of paper (so is a $100 bill but nobody is refusing to have that), he can be committed to you without marriage (yes but not to the extent I want), it's a financial trap for men (It is risky for men the way courts are set up, that's the reason why if you wanna take up that risk, then it shows you love me and trust me)...

More than a quarter of marriages (and ~three quarters of divorces) end up in the woman initiating the divorce with the man. Isn't it therefore fair to have marriage with a clearly defined prenup? You can also prove him your love and show him your trust by marrying him as a one-packaged deal without ever needing his financial security without him. It can go both ways. I'm not telling you to give up that core value of yours. If you require a regular marriage, I'd advise you and any other woman to discuss this with their boyfriends early on. If the man avoids giving a clear response, you can walk away and avoid wasting your time on him.

This is so true, I played house for years with my man. We were together for 23 years I got a ring after 19 years together. Still engaged every time I speak about a date he says you need to act right, in other words his not ready . We have kids together and my baby son says ma how come you don’t have daddy’s last name. I said to him ask your dad, dad couldn’t answer him. Sad but it’s time to move on.. I am a great woman to him.

horrible advice but some women too blind to see it. Its no point in being married for the man. My parents arent married and they been together since they were 16, he never left, cheated or treated her wrong. My grandmother was never married to my grandfather and when he passed she never married her current male friend who she met years later and never had any issues with either. My aunt is married and her husband is anywhere but home, ive only seen the guy 3 times and they been married for 10 years. When people finally realize being married is pointless and stop caring about what people think about your relationship will be the same time they will be in a stable relationship

Four and half years with him, lived with him for a year and 3 months, told him I wanted to get married, he told me he will marry me until his business gets started (that is going to take over 3 years), then he told that he wanted kids before marriage and if I felt like I was wasting my time him, then maybe I should find someone else. It's just plain selfish. This man and many others just use women and erode our self esteem. We need to tell them to 'get lost' and believe in ourselves more.
