    I think SeaWorld investing so heavily in family rides is a pretty smart move. For one, families spend the most money at the parks. And on top of that, rides with the best return on investment are the ones that get people to keep coming back. You look at a coaster-centric park without much for younger riders who have outgrown the kids area but aren’t ready for the biggest rides in the park, that creates a lot of families who won’t spend their money there. You attract the families with these smaller rides, they see the bigger ones that they won’t be ready for until maybe a year or to, and that gets them to come back and spend all that money again. Also, have to remember the 2020 additions that SW had a hard time paying for, and while things are probably looking better for them financially now, they probably have to save some money and buy back some goodwill with manufacturers. Just a thought.

    In my opinion I think Busch gardens Williamsburg is going for a park revival route, the coaster after next will probably be a high thrill coaster, right now with darkoaster, fixing nessy,and brining back big bad wolf they are bringing family rides and bringing back their old rides in a new way. I like what they are doing!

  • @brianfoss571

    It's a pretty smart move, actually. A cheaper coaster that appeals to younger riders while reminding older guests of Big Bad Wolf nostalgia will bring in plenty of guests and merch sales for the 50th anniversary. Plus, they don't have a true family coaster, and Pantheon has a lot of the ejector / overbanked elements of an RMC without being too intense for the GP like I-305 is. In the future, they could also add a Wild Moose back there as a tribute to the former "Wild Maus." I just hope they also add a Starflyer and name it *"Red Riding Hood"* to point guests behind Das Festaus and the Verbolten building.

    Don’t they know how much money the park would get with an RMC? There goes my plans for a Southeastern/Northeastern coaster vacation in 2025. By the way the original BBW wasn’t really a family coaster. Sure, it had no inversions, but it had that drop down the cliff. I don’t see this being better than the original. My only hope for an RMC hybrid would be something the size of Wildcat’s Revenge. But where would it be built?

    Have to agree that they should be putting somthing huge in that area - just like Steel Vengeance pulled the masses to the very back of CP, a giga or large RMC could do the same here and keep them deeper in the park for more hours. I don't think thr family B&M will be a bad addition, but I agree it should be placed somewhere else.

    It was nothing like hearing the howl of the wolf, while riding BBW through the original town. It does have a fan following, and It's nice to see them listening to the public. However, I hope they invest in the theming especially if it's family friendly, and the nostalgia of the original had a lot to do with the drop into the river. I hope they accommodate with other features.

    Going off of that rendering video, it isn't exactly "family." It's more like an intermediate step inbetween family and adult. Family coasters are something you can bring your 5 year old on with parents. I don't think most 5 year olds would want to go on this.

  • @FiresprayXL

    This news is heartbreaking, to say the least. I am absolutely furious with this downright stupid decision... bgw will now have two back to back family coasters... This plot was supposed to be reserved for a flagship rmc Coaster (or a flagship coaster from another manufacturer) , and they are bringing this garbage? Genuinely never thought I'd say this, but if this turns out to truly be a b&m family invert, I will be canceling my membership. I can not understand how you can insult this plot of land to such a degree. By the way, remember this is supposed to be a celebration of a big anniversary... What an awful joke.

    • @brianfoss571
      @brianfoss571 8 месяцев назад

      Well...if you want to celebrate your 50th anniversary with a coaster that grandparents can ride with their grandkids, a family invert is much better than, say, Zadra on steroids.

    I think that Seaworld is adding family coasters to their parks because many parks do not have any family coasters (For example Dorney Park does not have one if you do not include Wild mouse as one). Adding family coasters is probably their response to the Six Flags and Cedar Point merge. I think that in 2026 or 2027, they will go back to adding bigger coasters.

  • @zacg_
    @zacg_ 8 месяцев назад

    This thing simply does not belong in that plot of land. It could go behind Ireland and wind through the trees. It could go behind the wildlife area near the aviary and along side the amphitheater in France. It could go on the hillside in Germany between the bridge and the Rhine River Cruise launch. But that spot makes WAY more sense for a large coaster that both requires a large plot and is more visible from the midway.
    My other problem with this is that it has the rumored tie in to BBW but they only plan a handful of 2D facades. If you want to pay homage to BBW then you need to do something new and perhaps even better with the theming. The Bavarian village was one of the coolest aspects of BBW. One of the reasons that people feel Verbolten is a worthy successor to BBW is because the theming is so good (that and the preserved ending.) But if you phone in the theming on this other ride successor then it'll come off as cheap and tacky and you'd be better off going with an original theme that demanded less in terms of presentation.

      I don’t disagree, but you have to consider that parks just don’t care what enthusiasts value as much as the general public. Their bottom line is money, and they want to attract those who spend more. On top of that, SeaWorld just added a bunch of new coasters, so it would be redundant to double down in that specific niche of thrill seekers

    The guest from going back there during that time so why would this coaster be any different further more the family coasters are better investments they cater to every demographic. thats what will draw the guest back to the area the icing on the cake is for the locals that grew up on wolf and have a return is a win especially with the refurb of loch Ness its seems like bgw is really getting back to the folklore elements of the ride that made them so unique but hey thats just my opinion from a local and someone thats been going to the park since 1988

    Something to fit in the lower height requirement is sorely needed at BGW since Big Bad Wolf left. Other than Invadr and Grover every coaster has a 48” height requirement. This would help fill that gap. The coaster is also going to be very visible from the train ride. Currently it’s just a “pour one out” moment every time you go by that empty Drachen Fire station.

    While I fully trust the powers that be at SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment to have done their due diligence with regard to market research and the parks future plans. I'm sure the ride will be great, BUT! I don't know if naming or trying to revive a Big Bad Wolf Theme is a good idea. I think they already pay homage in the easter eggs and the iconic drop toward the river on Verbolten. Imo, when you reuse a ride name exactly, you tarnish the legacy of the original.

This may be a push to attract families that have planned a visit to visit the city and not a BG destination vacation. I know they have Invadr and Darkoaster but with such a huge park, I belive it will be an absolute homerun and spread more people out to that area and be a straight people eater. Great adventure is already adding a “family boomerang”. That one surprised me that they labeled it a family coaster, especially considering it has a spike that hits over 150 feet in the air and can make a case as one of the top 3-4 rides in the park after it’s built

    Even though Big Bad Wolf was a family coaster I would love it if the theme was reused for an S&S axis instead. That would be more reminiscent of the original.

    This is needed to balance out the park. Everything can’t always be extreme.

    • @marcusmcgraw3519
      @marcusmcgraw3519 8 месяцев назад +3

      It may not be extreme, but it’s far from an overly tame ride. Just judging by the POV, the drops and fast banked turns are enough to satisfy a lot of people

    WHAT IS THIS CRAZE WITH FAMILY COASTERS? I hate family coasters. Coasters are supposed to have huge heights with big drops. Not something some snot nose kid can ride and will like. Im done.

    This move is disappointing. A top-tier RMC could’ve really put BGW on another level. They misfired with DarKoaster 2.0 and are going to waste prime real estate on this. At least BGT got their RMC, and only used the Wild Mouse plot of land for their family B&M

    Honest this isn’t a bad idea, its just our greed for bigger rides but when I go here every month, the kids dont have as much to do.

    Boooooo!!!! I hope that's not the ride that's coming! It wouldn't be hard to see if it was a hyper or a giga. First off, screw inverts! They aren't that good, I said it! Disappointing!

      Including Alpengeist, Montu, and Afterburn. All 3 are "OK." I could go to BGW, BGT, and CW and not ride any of those and not feel like I'm missing out at all.

    Dude it's not gonna be family coaster..as much as you think it is.. buy the layout.... look at the permit filed it clearly states. 220 ft..to 300 ft..now tell me how is 220 ft a family coaster....I'm still stick to your original plan..rmc..yes the layout is out and back but you can have an rmc out and back..or even the t trex...but it's something bye rmc..they have too many launch coasters their...if it's a launch..the only launch I could see them doin it a mack extreme spinner..it's those are not for family...but I love you channel...you rock...keep up the amazing work..💯💯♥️♥️🥰🥰..time will tell..we will see what it is...🤔🤔🤔🤔but edit..if its gonna be like big bad wolf..and b&m invert..they need to have the track angle so cars can swing...like the og..this the only way i can see it work out...

      It doesnt look like it will be that high, but I totally agree with your point that it’s intense for a family coaster. Brandon detailed that it looks like it will be only a height of 75 feet, but the speed flying around those turns makes it intense, and he admits the pacing of this coaster fits that description. It’s a coaster that both helps younger riders get their feet wet and gives experienced riders a thrill of some sort

    I'm sorry but I feel like B&M is just an odd choice for building a family coaster they just it's just an odd choice in my opinion it's like they have an identity crisis I will give credit B&M for trying to build family coasters but to me B&M building family coasters is really out of place and out of touch

    I’m just wondering if B&M can adapt this 2 across seating for some thill coasters at smaller parks that might not necessarily need the capacity but still get a thrilling B&M invert.

    And truthfully I think seaworld as a whole is shifting the demographic to families. This major merger between SF and CF might have convinced Busch/Seaworld to back off from the thrill demographic and target a different demographic. But that’s gonna kill them if the wing coaster opens an hour away. If this isn’t a big bad wolf theme it’s gonna be a complete flop.

      BGT investing in a family coaster after coming off the heels of the elite thrill coaster iron gwazi is a smart move.
