God this game looks awful. Its like someone said "How do we make this game painfully terrible in every single way?"
Bloody right there brother, depressingly bad as a Bioware fan, was good while it lasted I suppose, DA was always 'inclusive' but the overcorrection now to the very extreme edges of the far Leftwaffe, all the best mate, can tell you are a fan who will be walking away, 2014 was the last one, 1 was always by far the best so they've been regressing to the end of the line, woke city broke city.
Can we stop beating round the bush, they prioritize activism and it reflect. The game looks fucking miserable.
I dunno man, he's still spouting so, SO many party lines in this vid. He's still doing exactly what the Dev teams and IGN are doing which is telling rather than showing. We STILL even after all the infodumps over the last week, don't know what disability and accessibility options there are and how they work (despite the Devs stating over and over that it's "more accessible than any previous DA game". We still don't know HOW to edit the UI, UI options there are and how to toggle them - which most pre-release Q&A's show. We still don't know how the button combos work, and that gods awful skill tree is FULL of them. They actually look cumbersome and overly complicated, but they haven't even addressed them aside from a small flash of one of the 'skills' in the skill tree intro vid.
The world is only crafted well when the screen is saturated with bloom, flare and particle effects. If you pause combat and really look past them, you can see the combat physics is off, characters slide like they're ice skating, character frames squash and stretch in bad ways, and weapons disappear for no reason. It's a hot 9superficially pretty) mess.
And where's the gods damned healing magic that's "apparently back in the game?!" Why is Harding even bruised from "his meaningful choice?!"
I also can't get past the Andromeda style out of whack head to body ratio. I mean the customer base complained until they REMOVED the large heads from Andromeda and they DID IT AGAIN!!!
Do I think it could be a fun little game that I'd enjoy for a single playthrough for novelty's sake? Probably. Do I think it's a banger of a DRAGON AGE sequel? Efff no.
I also don't understand how people are saying this is a "very reasonable price" TM. I mean $86AUD is NOT cheap!! It's just not!. Most games I buy - including BG3 - are around $70AUD
I hear you man. Even after watching so much footage of the game, I don't know what they are seeing that I'm not. I feel crazy. I'm looking at the exact same uninteresting world and dialogue as them and they're saying IT'S GREAT TRUST ME.
Either way, I'll be there on release to find out who is right and who is a shill.

Wrong? I think not. I don’t trust Luke here. I’m sure he has friends there, and I wonder what other kinds of “promotion” they got for their previews. The fact that he says it looks beautiful alone makes me side eye.
waited 10 long years for this? I'm going to wait until the game has been out a while. all they focus on telling us is characters and companions yet nothing about the world itself. it could be a buggy hot mess for all we know. a few patches and maybe some fixes to those sliders that are not adjusting anything at all. then I'll see. which sucks because I'd like to consider myself a die hard bioware and dragon age fan. this is the first DA game I'm not pre-ordering. the title of the game change plus what I have seen so far has not excited me at all. I bet the fact we can not control the companions is because if a lingering live action mechanic.
Yeah same. For all the supposedly positive reviews I'm extremely unconvinced. The guy in the review vid was very heavy on the insinuation that he DIDN'T like DA:O features UNTIL he did this review, and he was being relatively negative even AFTER he did this play testing. This vid is the first time he ever gave ANY indication he "loved it".
I'll be waiting for a full clear review from someone I actually trust, and who wasn't on the community panel OR towing the party-line-bingo.
Nothing what I see is actually getting me to buy it.
I always had a hugh problem with the fortnite graphic and this here looks worse and even worse then some indie games that have the same style.
I was actually looking forward to the end of Dragon Ages Story.

Dragon Age died with Origins (and even that wasn't that good if you didn't play mage), this is going to be pure slop with a side of poz and I'm thinking this is going to be a test of Luke as much as a test of Bioware.
Concord Effect... that's what we are probably going to get instead of the new Mass one (if at all)

I take it that this is a response to calling out the 'realistic' graphics getting trashed in other games as stylized options seem to hold up better as a game ages
like people would highlight WoW, Fortnite, and SWtoR for their art direction while pointing out that ESO might not hold up so well in a few years or that some great looking graphics turns into a detriment due to system needs.... but then this is also assuming what I heard about them trying to make it a live service multiplayer game instead of a single player experience.
@@bartofii I personally love KOTOR, and don't mind the graphics, I do seriously dislike the artstyle of Veilguard, even in comparison to other very unique artstyles like Borderlands
@wearegeekoclock honestly veilguard has an issue with proportions or something and an apparent trend in not really catering to certain forms. I saw someone have their own rant about head sizes for characters and showed some edited photos that made everyone look better from just shrinking their heads a slight amount.
But I don't think the Qunari are ever going to look as good as they had them in the da2 cinematics
Luke Stephens is an access journalist when he says he's critical of games he means he makes a hate video after its already widely accepted the game is trash, he never go's and reviews a game than says its bad he's an access shill. at the beginning of the video, he even said he's still under strict nda's there is literally no way for us the player to know if he's not allowed to talk about certain things that would cause a lot of people to not buy the game, oh I don't know like the fact that there are only three choices from past games and they're all from inquisition : who did your inquisitor romance, did you try and save Solas, and is the inquisition still up and running completely ignoring a literal shitload of important narrative decisions. they don't care about the past games this entire game is a garbage activist hijacking
the overall design is so cartoonish and feels like a mobile game .this game will tank hard

Has anyone asked what happens when the main character dies and your companions are still alive? Sometimes you just have to clutch it with your last remaining party member….
Choice matters wtf they erased pretty much everything before the game bar 3 things from inquisition
the combat system ..... have they copied from ff7 remake? i'm an origins gamer from the first hour, but after 2 minutes i had eye cancer. flashes everywhere, does that have to be? seen so often in many games. the main thing is that it flashes and crashes. why can't you manage and control other party members in a group of 4, like in origins? questions about questions. and god of war is an action game with rpg elements. dragon age is, was an rpg with action elements. upside down world.
The largest problem I have is the art style. Everything else looks decent from what I've watched, but the art style KILLS it. It makes the monsters look goofy, it makes the cutscenes look like disney, and it makes the overall game look mobile. They ruined the uniqueness of the elves being super skinny, the dwarfs being stocky shorties, and the qunari being monstrosities. Thats my biggest grip. After watching like 7 different people playing the game, I like what I see and hear collectively, but the art style is so tough to get around. Granted, every single DA game has had a different style but this is a head of bad over inquisition. My recommendation, reserve your hate and watch several different videos of people playing, don't take one persons word, and then see how much hate you have left and act accordingly. I like collectively what I seen but its been savaged by the atrocious artstyle. HOWEVER, the art style has started to grow on me after awhile of watching but I still hate it. But I don't think its gonna be a game killer for me. Still, i won't know until release.
There are no real wafuis mate. The CC and this is from BioWare, said they made every NPC character in this game with the CC and that means every character in the game is flat chest no butts 😂.

I like it when I see people who willing to give the game a chance and listen to the good as well as the bad. I'm fed up with those who hammer the game regardless like they want it to fail, these people are boring. I want to hear news and thoughts on the game and not pure hatred.
All I needed to hear was the game director a trans, talking about how queer representation was the most important thing.

A lot of people seem to think its going to be Concord or Outlaws again. But I predict it will be a 7/10 maybe 8/10 game thats meh just like Inquisition was. Safe and boring but maybe a bit of fun sometimes.
I like luke but don't take his opinion to seriously after all he likes all of the latest assassins creed games that speaks for itself at the end of the day he's more of a normie prospective he doesn't rock the boat

Can't wait for cringe dialogue in they/them form. Nails on a chalkboard for someone that likes to use the English language properly. If the main character has that option it's in the game. Probably a companion that I don't want to interact with but am forced to. Due to that i will give it a hard pass. It's a shame the route this series has taken, played all of them including DLC. But if this is going to be the slog of cringe it clearly is I will stay away from it like it's radioactive.

Nah i think were right about this stinker. Characters look bland as fuck, they cartoonified the darkspawn and they added surgery scars so nah this game is gonna bomb hard.

Gotta hard disagree on one point. Harding and Bellara are very cute and Neve is an absolute smoke show. Taash, on the other hand, is hideous lol
I mean to each their own. I love Harding's design too tho. I wonder if they kill off Varric and move Harding into that same role (narratively)... I'm excited to play it and find out what they've cooked or ruined.
It's gonna flop for it's ideology so imma just wait for it to be cheaper before I even think of buying a woke game. I won't pay full price for the game if it's going to throw trans down my throat and possibly be a terrible game. And the god awful character customization is almost a killer for me so ya I'll wait for it to drop for pennies on the dollar.
