I‘m from Hamburg and i have to say that this is one of the best documentarys. You showed how unique our City is and you clearly showed how unique these clubs are.
HSV didnt just lose in 2009. They lost to their biggest rivals, Werder Bremen, three of four times within two weeks (infamously called ,,Derby Weeks"). Lost in the Bundesliga (which ruined their chances for the title), lost in the semi final of the UEFA Cup and lost in the semi final of the German Cup. From that point on it was a downward spiral, ironically for Bremen as well.
And they lost the UEFA Cup game because a ball was deflected by a paper ball lying aroung on the pitch (which led to a Werder goal). Wanna trigger a HSV supporter? Just say "Papierkugel":
@Henrique Faustino this year they didn't produce shit. you'll have your nordderby back next season, if hsv doesn't luck into the bundesliga on last matchday
I used to go To St Pauli for the Monday games in the early 90s, I was working in Hamburg. In the club bar, the players would come in and greet the fans before the game. It was a really special club. Wavings keys at corner kicks, great fans and a lot of fun and beer. Was there for the thrashing of FC 08 Homburg and later that day, at the Reeperbahn for the party when they got promoted in 95. Memories come flooding back. Happy days and a great video too.
@Jimmy Durex If you can't handle the wonderful weirdness, the co-existence of posh luxury villas and squats full of punks, the very own microcosmos of this city, then just shut the hell up.

The story of HSV's relegation reminds the one of my club, Real Sociedad. We were in the top division for 40 straight years (the best records apart from the 3 never relegated) and we had some very bad seasons in which we avoided relegation by miracle. It looked that we would never relegated but in 2007 the dream just finished and we got what we deserved for a long time: the second tier.
