To listen to Butch talk about all the things he’s done, the people he’s worked with, and all the good friends he’s made along the way is something I never tire of. I sometimes look back and think about what the 90’s would look like had he not played the huge role he has undertaken over the years, and the accomplishments along the way. He is such a busy guy, and his dedication to the cause has left an indelible mark on music. Respect!!
Ya Butch!! Unbelievably you mentioned World Party, Goodbye Jumbo! Ya I got that record too and love it big time! Sonically killer too. So, it was the song "Way Down Now" that had pretty consistent radio play out here in Utah on what was KJQ at the time. Killer song and killer album. Great interview. I watch all Butch's interviews cuz I love to hear him talk about records and production. I love Garbage too!
I first heard Killdozer's 12 Point Buck when a friend introduced me to them in 1995... Interesting band - I love how Butch describes them and says the lyrics are funny. I love the lyrics, really interesting and they are funny. Crazy band and pretty cool that Billy Corgan and Kurt Cobain both listened to that album. Think I'll give it another spin today :)
How did they find Killdozer? He said Touch & Go Records… shouldn’t be a revelation to a Spin employee. Nirvana WAS an indie band, a total fluke of the industry.
What are you talking about? In the first 3 Nirvana videos ( SLTS, Come as you Are & Lithium) you can’t even see Kurt’s face as his hair covering it up. And videos were pretty much the only time you can see the band members back then as there was no internet.

Always love to hear Butch Vig talking about music, so passionate and inspiring!
This is seriously a fantastic conversation. I could watch about 3 more hours of this.
What an amazing conversation! Congratulations to everyone involved! Thank you very much! 👁️🔥👁️
Fantastic interview! Great questions and host!
Butch seems like a really nice amiable guy, his history in music is fascinating and quite diverse.

Butch Vig is a nice guy, so much passion when he talks about music

Brilliant conversation ❤
Love Butch
Why did i think dude was sugar ray in the thumbnail😂
Cause he looks like Mark McGrath.
i want to see an interviewer have Butch Vig as a guest and NOT ask the same 20 questions about Nevermind that have been asked over the years
lol

Thanks for Sing the Sorrow, Butch. That record is underrated by the fools.

Butch is the king of dynamics in sonics

Taylor Hawkins is like Roger Taylor and Stewart Copeland in one person
Is the outro song a cover of STP Press Play?
Bro keeps calling Wisconsin Wyoming
Yeah WTF multiple times Cowboy Lipps
I find it interesting how when Billy executive produces for Courtney she kinda sorta sounds like Kim Shattuck
Someone once told me Sonic Youth was the Spinal Tap of Punk Rock
That sounds like a compliment to me.
Madison, Wyoming 🤦
Corporate magazines still suck
Scott believe it or not, I have a few tee shirts like that. Holes, seems broken... Ya, know like the old Jethro Tull tour shirts and such!
Wonder why Butch never talks about producing House of Pain

I’d love to know which “big name” blues & country artists contacted Vig wanted him to turn them into Nirvana 😂
Madison, Wisconsin….not Wyoming 😉😂
Mick Jagger wants me to produce a record for the Stones... Unfortunately he just doesn't know it yet.

if kurt hadn't been so good-looking would nirvana have hit as hard?

What's up with the bobble head?...😂
Tempo-Map...hmmm
