That’s something I can fool around with while watching sports. Love to doodle on the mando like that. Running those scales across every string like that is going to open some doors come improvisation time. Thanks Wayne. Just subscribed!
I love to goof off with my Jazz bass. It's more about therapy for me when I play bass. Kinda reminds me of how it felt when I played the mandolin as a 15 year old just having fun.
@@waynesworldofmandolin3616 Great to hear that. i'm playing a bit more electric bass than mandolin lately but it seems to be showing me things differently on the mandolin. Thanks for the reply. You are an amazing mandolin-man~~~
Why arpegiate "from the chord shape" but lift your fingers out of that shape and fret each string individually? I see it often. Doesn't it work to leave your fingers in the chord and pick each string the order you want to get same effect?
Thanks for the help… played a lot of instruments, and the mandolin is the most interesting. Like you’ve said before…don’t just practice…play!
Thanks Wayne! Very helpful. R. I. P. Herschel

Thx for the comment Bushman! Has this helped with your improvising?
Excellent...great ideas
Love the chevy racing shirt!
Yep. I sold my Vette years ago but still have the t-shirt.
Are you playing some bass Wayne? Been on a bass kick myself. Helping me see modes and stuff more clearly.

A famous musician once said, there’s no money past the fifth fret 😜
Bet it was a banjo picker!
Howdy Wayne
Howdy to you too.
