I don't see enough people talking about when Vaggie mentions she's not used to fighting with long hair, Carmilla goes out of her way to pull her hair down to teach her. Also, Rosie is such a sweetheart. I love her!
Y'know, it just hit me that Susan has probably never antagonized Alastor directly but she's one of the regular sinners he remembers by name...like we can only aspire to reach that level of bitchiness
I was expecting Rosie to be some kind of intimidating overlord. But she is really one of the sweetest characters in the whole series. She is a sweet mother figure to Charlie. Even more than a certain person. Also, Charlie got the determination and song and rallied an army to battle Heaven. I feel like Alastor suggested recruiting the Cannibals partly because of his friendship with Rosie & partly because he knew they’d be swayed by Charlie’s singing and dancing.
Exactly this. I know Alastor has his own motivations but I think he does genuinely believe in Charlie and encourage her (in his own... weird way) and it's strangely sweet. I like him and Rosie as the Aunt/Uncle figures
i think having a char like Rosie drives the point home that not everyone in hell is necessarily a BAD person. Like, yea, in life she was a cannibal, but at the same time, maybe she was also a super sweet person, just like she is here. People made mistakes, like Charlie said in Ep1, but that doesnt really mean they are innately bad people.
Rosie and Alastor are basically Charlie's Aunt and uncle ant this point, and I love it. I love Rosie, she's so much more chill than I thought she'd be. Who would've thought the overlord of the cannibals would make such a good relationship therapist? Cannibal Town is a lot more pleasant than I thought. With the perfect level of theatricsfor Charlie. When Alastor gave Charlie *his mic* in support. Rosie not judging Charlie’s relationship with an ex- Exorcist. The little eggs chasing the cat around. _My heart_
It's crazy how they still hang around alastor despite knowing that he'll swoop in to "save" them at their most desperate and vulnerable. He could have given them the information about the angels months ago, they could have had 5 months to prepare instead of a day. He waited until the 11th hour, literally.
I mean he's a powerful ally to have and Charlie doesn't give up on anyone, even if she knows Alastor is sketchy as all hell. If Alastor really is on Lilith's leash then he probably is forced to protect Charlie and the hotel.... even if the deal he made with Charlie is definitely going to come back to bite her in the ass later
He’s probably building up favors to try and get out of his own deal. It’s especially telling that he added the stipulation that her favor wont involve her harming anyone. Can someone say “loophole”. I can also see Rosie coming back as someone whole keep him from going off the deep end if he gets desperate eneough
Friendly reminder Word of God, Charlie outranks even The Dreaded Alastor in power, making her a formidable force among the denizens of Hell. However, her inexperience in battle and her unpredictable temperament cause her to hold back from revealing her true capabilities
It makes me so happy that they mentioned Alastor’s asexuality in the show!!! I’m ace myself, and explicit representation is SO hard to come by. Rosie’s “ace in the hole” joke is so funny

@@bluwolf098 I already knew this I was mostly talking about the other parts fitting way to well I just wasn't expecting someone to make a reference to this particular song of theirs Edit: fixed my reply UwU
There are two points to this episode that I find hilarious: A) The ONE TIME that Charlie's tendency to spontaneously burst into song Disney Princess style would actually not just be useful, but ABSOLUTELY SUCCESSFUL, she is too messed up emotionally to manage it; And B) The only people in all of Hell to just be legitimately nice and respectful and receptive to both helping and making friends with her without any hesitation or trouble... and also empathized with her and were genuinely sweet to her, *_are the one group of people in all of Hell that even CHARLIE found horrifying, as shown in Happy Day In Hell._* These two jokes had me laughing hard.
Mean considering its hell and Sinner's would probably be able to regenerate or pull themselves back together after bits of them have been eaten eventually its probably not as bad there (but still really fucking bad)
Alador and Rosie were like supportive parents and I want them to adopt me now 💜💜💜 Also husk and angels faces when they saw the deal👀 they know what’s up
Carmilla with her hair down is SO DAMN PRETTY!!! I LOVE HER!!! That song was AMAZING, it might be my new favorite. And Rosie is just the sweetest. It feels like every episode adds a new FANTASTIC character, and this was no exception!!
Alastor and Rosie just being the supportive Uncle and Aunt to Charlie is so adorable. And yeah, maybe Alastor uses Charlie for his own goals, but I think is this episode you can perfectly see that he does care about Charlie!
The specific wording of Alastor's deal with Charlie really leaves the possibility open for a horrible outcome for Charlie. The deal was "One favor at a time of my choosing where you harm no one." "Where you harm no one" To Charlie, this could mean that the favor won't involve hurting anyone for Alastor which is what she was worried about, but to Alastor, it could mean that when he cashes in his favor, if it creates a situation where someone like Vaggie or Angel is put into danger and Charlie would have to harm someone to help them, she physically CAN'T. I don't trust Alastor a single bit and I never have before so this really makes me think Charlie just set a bad future event into stone.
i have two additions to this: in both of these alastors demands the throne from her the moment she becomes queen. 1) she wants to save alastor but cant because of the deal. 2) they pull a disneys hercules and the moment alastor hurts someone the deal is null and void.
You know it’s the fact that individuals like Rosie stick up for Alistor is what makes it hard to pin down his motives. He is without a doubt a bad dude, but more often than not he’s pleasant to be around, some find him friendly and the only people he’s truly terrible towards are those that disrespect him.
Alastor looked like he was genuinely enjoying spending his time with Rosie. Very few other scenes with Alastor give off that level of wholesome jubilation, the only other one that comes to mind is that lil convo with Nifty and the roaches. And it's clear how well they know eachother too. Near the end of the song, Alastor was getting sucked back into his, uh, "Alastor-ness", looking at Charlie with those super manipulative "I want this person" eyes, but Rosie intentionally yoinked him back into the song as if to say "Down boy, one thing at a time". Good choreography.
I picked on Alastor and Rosie being besties before. Nice to see them together finally, haha. I love how supportive they are. Alastor even gave Charlie the "supportive dad (uncle)" thumb up 😂😂 he can be her gossip girl and her cool uncle fr fr
5:17 In case you missed it, when Rosie described Alastor as an 'ace in the hole', it was a reference to his asexuality (he's also aromantic, apparently). Him not knowing what she meant was because he died long before LGBTQIA+ identifications were a thing.
I love the two murder aunts counseling the girls! I love Carmilla, her long hair and her voice! So, so good! I liked that Vaggie got her wings back. The fact that they were ripped off and not cut off made it a possibility, but her getting her wings back made that song really hit at the end! I am rabid for more of Alastor dancing. Mimsy indicated he was a good dancer and then he was dancing with Rosie...I need more! Fun fact: In the pilot when Alastor conjured outfits for the cast, he stuck Vaggie in Susan's clothing because she was annoying him
Carmila might not be Vaggie's mom (that was another theory), but it feels like now she's the closet. thing Vagggie's had to one. I love the symbolism of Vaggie regrowing her wings once she breaks out of her shell of self-loathing and shame and commmits to fighitng for Charlie
7:44 If you listen closely here, you can hear Charlie sing the phrase 'I have a dream', which in any other context would likely be intended as a reference to Martin Luther King Jr's famous speech, but here, it refers to Charlie's song "Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow" from the Hazbin Hotel pilot from 2019.
This episode was a really good penultimate for the season. Great character growth, 2 great songs, Carmilla and Rosie, setting up some big plot points for later, and some fun sinister Alastor moments. Rosie is delightful, but dang man, Carmilla is one of my favourite characters. She's just so cool and elegant, and I love her dance-like fighting style
I was very curious on meeting Rosie as she is a friend of Alastor and she didn’t disappoint I really liked her. Carmilla getting more screentime was nice and her song felt like a Lady Gaga sound. Charlie’s deal with Alastor will most definitely come into play into season 2 that’s fs. I liked that we finally got to hear the song used in the trailer. A pretty good episode fs.
Not surprised Charlie and Vaggie worked things out, it's a very optimistic toned show. And thus far has handled emotional stuff with surprisingly real nuance.
I know people joke about waiting 3 years, but we also have to keep in mind that it was a history of finding a company to produce it, then figuring out who would animate it, then had to shop around for a platform, and then there was Covid and a writer and actor strike that the studios let go on way too long happening as well. I'm willing to bet we'll get it next year. Also yes! I loved Rosie so much and was so glad they didn't drag the relationship stuff out. It was always evident to me as well that she was mostly hurt by not being told and feeling like it was her fault for Vaggie not feeling safe enough to tell her more than her being an angel.
I also expected Rosie to be a more intimidating villain, potential character she was quite wholesome, and she gave Charlie excellent advice. She really warmed my heart and I think she’s my new comfort character. I love you, Rosie.🌹🥀 a.k.a. she’s giving me lady D vibes !!
And in this way, Alastor established himself as the truest representation of a biblically accurate devil in the entire series. He's been waiting all for this moment to make his move. Now he has the princess of Hell in the palm of his hand. He doesn't need her to help to kill someone. He doesn't need her to hurt anyone. There's no limit to the list of more useful and dangerous favors He can ask of her. I'd like to also point out this marks her forgetting the words of her father not to take ANYTHING from other demons.
Rosie is such an awesome ally to Charlie. She's just that little reminder of Charlie's cause and restoring her faith in Vaggie after Adam messed with her brain. Carmine too. I hope we get to see more of them.
Rosie is just the best and I love her so much! She is just everyone's caring, wise auntie who you can always turn to for support or advice. Just, you might not want to stick around for dinner. Also, "Out For Love" is criminally short, the thing is way to epic to not have been longer! Also also, agree, I liked how they handled this. @@IAmZamber She actually has three songs. Respectless, a duel with Vel that she lost, More Than Anything, a duet with Vaggie. And Out For Love, which is just her singing while teaching Vaggie.

This shows how powerful carmilla is she went toe to toe with vaggie a trained Exorcist and didnt get injured. P.S. A detail that I liked about this is that when vaggie said she wasn't doing well in the fight because she's not used to fighting with long hair, carmilla is shown in the next moment with her hair down to show vaggie who's boss.
The fact it's not just "one favor", it's "one favor *at a time*", implying he has an unset amount of favors he can ask charlie. Who knows what would happen if she denied the requests Edit: all right it could've meant that he meant having a favor at a "time of his choosing", thanks for explaining
@@evilness3404 yeah that's the full thing, but nonetheless a seemingly endless supply of harmless favors from the princess of hell sounds very powerful in the hands of alastor
@@zacctheracc5804 not actually, the comma in the phrase changes that entirely. its strictly one favour, just at any time he chooses. the full thing having that comma there completely sets up the rules of the deal
sorry to have that implication one would need a comma after time. I read as just one favor. but that Alistor is the one who chooses the time. Time in this case modifies the choosing not the favor.
Hard agree on how the Chaggie situation was handled. I love how healthy and realistic it's handled. Charlie just needed some time to cool down and recollect her thoughts and feelings and remember what she and Vaggie have been through together 🥰
It might sound weird but my favorite part was how Carmilla immediately loosened her hair the second Vaggie complained about her long hair getting in he way. She immediately dismissed the excuse (and became 80% hotter).
ATleast alastor didnt ask for her soul he only wants her to help him once and he did promise not to use her to kill anyone so yh he just wants Charlie to free him probably also in the cannibal song alastor did say he wants to guide her to be stronger cause when Charlie does becomes queen alastor can be like her left hand while vaggie as her right hand making alastor have more authority in hell
Great episode but I find it so funny that Vaggie is actually surprised that angelic weapons can harm angels like girl are you forgetting how you lost your wings and an eye?
12:15 You make it sound like Vaggie killing thousands of Charlie's people is such an insignificant detail that shouldn't cause a rift in their relationship. I think its bad writing that Hazbin didn't go that route since that fact was glossed over so quickly. You can blame it on time constraints but that is absolutely proper grounds for their relationship to be put into question.
Comparing out for love to do it for her is so good, I've been singing do it for her so much lately (it's high time for an SU rewatch i think) but I didn't even make that connection
Agreed! I hate when a solid relationship decides to not be adults and talk about the situation, and instead just stew for several episodes solely for childish drama's sake. 🙄
I expected totally different from what it was in canibal town and honestly i aint mad i love rosie shes a darling and camila being a class A baddie and badass Hazbin Hotel for all the flaws in pacing hasnt disappointed me yet
Given the show's stage pedigree, & the amount of Broadway greats in this cast (Alex Brightman, Jeremy Jordan, Patina Miller, Daphne Rubin-Vega...to name a few), I am CONVINCED Rosie is based on Dolly Levi, the main character of the musical, "Hello, Dolly!"
Don't know if you saw it in your full reaction, but Charlie has hoofsies! And Alastor too (confirmed by Viv), which is an odd coincidence for their first scene in this episode.
Carmila actually had three songs, Respectless, Whatever it Takes, and Out for Love. Also, something that bugs me to no end about this episode. Vaggie says that she did not know that Exorcists could be harmed with Angelic weapons... so, um... how did she lose her eye again?
I still find it confusing whether Carmilla meant that protecting loved ones was the key to defeating the angels, or if she means that it's just the mama bear effect, where people are theoretically stronger when protecting those we love
I find it weird how people are all "wow Rosie not evil because nice", a lot of history's worst were likeable people. Though I expected a bit more of the "finger food" and a bit more of a undertone of edge to her, but i think Alaster more or less stole that from her.
I don't see enough people talking about when Vaggie mentions she's not used to fighting with long hair, Carmilla goes out of her way to pull her hair down to teach her. Also, Rosie is such a sweetheart. I love her!

This episode was so good! The finale was crazy Tho!🥰
The fact it's not just "one favor", it's "one favor *at a time*", implying he has an unset amount of favors he can ask charlie. Who knows what would happen if she denied the requests
Edit: all right it could've meant that he meant having a favor at a "time of his choosing", thanks for explaining
The full statement is "one favor, at a time of my choosing, where you harm no one" to be clear
@@MattStMarie-bm5sq ah whoops
Carmillas’ song gave me some late 90’s early 2000’s Latin Pop vibes, really catchy.
Yesssss I absolutely agree!!!
Rosie was another great addition. Uncle Alastor and Auntie Rosie are wonderful.
Hard agree on how the Chaggie situation was handled. I love how healthy and realistic it's handled. Charlie just needed some time to cool down and recollect her thoughts and feelings and remember what she and Vaggie have been through together 🥰
Im so happy Charlie and Vaggie stayed together! Theyre too cute to break up! Rosie is amazing!
There's a neat video where they took this video clip and matched it up to "do it for her" and it's pretty great
I love carmilla, she gives me that "sexy, spicy Latina" kinda vibe and her singing was amazing 🤩
It might sound weird but my favorite part was how Carmilla immediately loosened her hair the second Vaggie complained about her long hair getting in he way.
She immediately dismissed the excuse (and became 80% hotter).
This is my favorite Hazbin hotel episode I just love Rosie and Alastor dynamic 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Rosie needs here own show
Im so happy im not the only one who got 'do it for her' vibes from out for love!
Everyone needs a Rosie in their life
Carmine with her hair down is mommy tho 😍
Man watching these reactions have been helping me fight through this multiple day off and on migrane
"Out For Love" aka "Do It For Her (Dancefloor Remix)"
THEY ARE ALL READY 😭💖
Cutest found family
ATleast alastor didnt ask for her soul he only wants her to help him once and he did promise not to use her to kill anyone so yh he just wants Charlie to free him probably
also in the cannibal song alastor did say he wants to guide her to be stronger cause when Charlie does becomes queen alastor can be like her left hand while vaggie as her right hand making alastor have more authority in hell
Great episode but I find it so funny that Vaggie is actually surprised that angelic weapons can harm angels like girl are you forgetting how you lost your wings and an eye?
It's possible she assumed it was punishment for betraying the angels.
Yes but that was by Lute. An angel harming an angel. And Exorcists had built themselves up as untouchable by demons.
@@brolytriplethreat yeah I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and I think that’s the most likely explanation
I never realized I needed Cannibalistic Hello, Dolly! Love Rosie
YAY ROSIE APPRECIATION!!
I'm a huge Rosie fan myself
14:30 I get the feeling she has been married several times.
12:38 like the solid relationship among Rouse Q and the Crystal Gems that went right to the garbage just cuz One Lil necessary secret.
I love that egg talked.
Agreed! I hate when a solid relationship decides to not be adults and talk about the situation, and instead just stew for several episodes solely for childish drama's sake. 🙄
I love Big-mom-energy Rosie and Carmilla!
Aww poor baby 😢 charlie needs a mommy but auntie rosie is here for her 😭
Rosie my Beloved 💜
Carmila has 3 songs. Respectless, Out For Love, and The duet with Vaggy.
fun fact!:
in denmark if you want to write "remember" in dansh its "husk"
remember = husk
so husks name in dansh is remember!
I love the parallels of Vaggie and Carmilla
Second person who I've heard said this is like do it for her in Steven universe
I expected totally different from what it was in canibal town and honestly i aint mad i love rosie shes a darling and camila being a class A baddie and badass Hazbin Hotel for all the flaws in pacing hasnt disappointed me yet
7:22 BOOOOOO BRING ROSIE BACK
Charlie- "Susan?"
Alaster and Rosie- "Susan😏😒"
Me- "f**king Susan😏"
Honestly Cannibal town seems like a lovely communtiy
Out for Love is an amazing song but I absolutely *HATE* how short it is. Not enough Camilla. Her voice is really beautiful lol
11:30 30bucks says roses speaks from experience
Carmilla and Rosie helping Charlie and the others. Two best overlords!!!
Charlies song gives me the greatest showman vibes.
I just gotta know, where did you get that amazing sweater?! I absolutely LOVE IT!
Zamber Carmella has three songs now. You can’t forget about Respectless.
5:16 "Ace in the hole" was Rosie trying to say aroace? 😭
I love how we all agreed she was auntie rosie
I still find it confusing whether Carmilla meant that protecting loved ones was the key to defeating the angels, or if she means that it's just the mama bear effect, where people are theoretically stronger when protecting those we love
I find it weird how people are all "wow Rosie not evil because nice", a lot of history's worst were likeable people.
Though I expected a bit more of the "finger food" and a bit more of a undertone of edge to her, but i think Alaster more or less stole that from her.
I can feel myself becoming obsessed with Rosie. Along with Lady Dimitrescu, why is my type tall women who eat people????
Rosie may be a cannibal but I lowkey want her to adopt me. Also she seems like she'd be a good therapist. Also she's surprisingly chill :)
Who knew a cannibal would be great at relationship advice
