I don't know what they have inside their heads apart from ego and air; a franchise with 150 million books sold, and the films each the highest grossing of their time only behind Titanic. And you go and with your two balls you piss on the original until it is unrecognizable, and you put a large part of that enormous number of people who should serve you to promote the series, against it and to give a negative image of the product. Exactly what I think too. For every good thing this show does (Charlie Vickers as Sauron, Khazad-Dum plot, Gil-Galads song etc.) there are 2 to 3 bad decisions. The eregion siege was one of the stupidest battles I've ever seen. I guess one of the biggest things that is nagging me is the fact that they make the elves look like mortal people.

The show has a 4 star rating on prime video, so a lot of people like the show, myself included. I do think the movies are directed and done better, but the show is decent & honeslty pretty entertaining. It's just getting a lot of hate from the cancel culture crowd mostly for not being canonical to the books. No adaptation from books to tv show/movies have ever not changed a ton of things about the story, not sure why the nerds are making such a big deal about it with this show.

This was filmed at Buttersteep Rise near Ascot. They actually built a castle set there although on screen it looks CGI.
