The self harm really hit me. This show is making me consider psychiatry medicine more and more, as I was actually going to go into cardiothoracic surgery before I started Chicago Med. The psychiatry part of this show intrigues me so much. I feel I can really relate to some of the patients, and I’ve realized I know a lot more about psychiatry then I thought. I would love to get into practicing medicine at all, it’s just so interesting to me. I know it’s super fucking hard a lot of the time. I understand. i understand when everyone tells you it’ll get better in time and then suddenly it’s 6 years later and you’re like, “wow, not a single goddamn thing has changed.” things might not improve, but you’ll learn how to deal with it better as time goes on. I mean, hell, if I killed myself 6 years ago when symptoms first really started up then I would’ve never figured out what was wrong with me physically or mentally. when I tell you that knowing what specific mental illness you have helps so much, I mean it. but I also know what it’s like to see messages like this and lash out and be so goddamn mad at someone for thinking they know my life.
